Power Play - Your Thoughts?

I just played the newly added adversary mode Power Play. I have to say, it's really fun! It's basically a deathmatch with the added bonus of cool pick ups ranging from beast mode, slowing down time and more. To me, it's PvP at its finest and one of the best adversary modes added. The cyborg voice can get irritating at times, but all in all, it's a very good game mode.

So, what do you all think?

TIPS AND TRICKS

- You can take complete advantage of the Zone power-up if you have a Sniper. It allows you to aim quickly, giving you a 99% clean shot. It also gives you more chance of hitting a target even if you are not locked on (auto aim).

- If you have collected the Beast power-up, keep an eye on the time at the top of the screen. Remember not to jump when the timer is low otherwise you will ragdoll through the air. Also, the Beast Mode timer doesn't slow down when Zone is active. When you see the timer is low, head to cover as you revert back.

- It is possible to take down the Beast without an RPG with one well timed combat roll and melee from behind. This will knock the Beast to the ground allowing you to fire at it. When the beast gets back up, simply melee again and "most" of the time the Beast will get knocked back to the ground. Usually takes a good 5 to 6 Special Carbine clips. Or 3 RPG's if you're in a rush :p

- Try to get your hands on a Special Carbine as soon as possible. It is more effective that the Assault Rifle (obviously).

- If you do happen to pick up an RPG, try to save them for when a Beast is about. As most of you all know, it'll send the Beast flying and give you valuable seconds to inflict more damage as it lays helplessly on the ground.

- "ALL" vehicles are inaccessible.

- If an enemy team triggers Zone, immediately roll as they might just be looking at you though their scope.

- During Zone, pushing R1 will get you behind cover faster than running to it then pushing R1.

If you have any tips, share them and they'll be added! :D

I haven't played yet. I might (might) finally try an adversary mode, just to see these power ups.

But they should have been available to order in other modes. I'm getting sick of content being locked away for specific modes (looking at you, Cuban 800 missile jammer and armour upgrades).

I only played it once and I got paired with a level 13. The other team were two level 300+ from the same crew.

Yeah f*ck that.

That's not the game modes fault...You're right, it's Rockstar's balance algorithm's fault.

So I just tried this game mode, you can tell that they put more effort than usual into this adversary, with it's own announcer, new music and special effects. This mode is really fun!!

It's very fun if I'm being honest. Which is something I never thought I'd hear myself say about any AM that Rockstar's thrown at us as of late.

It's hard to say. One thing I will say is that I tried it, which is something I haven't done with an adversary mode since ... I don't even remember when.

First go was just me versus one other person. It went completely one sided in my favour, but I suppose that's not the game's fault.

Second one was me versus four other people. Hmmmm.

The one after that was me and some other guy versus one person. This "one person" was one of the people who'd ganged up on me though, so I didn't feel any guilt lol.

Too early to say. The game's I've been in were either too empty, or had the numbers skewed too much to be fun.

I wasn't host on that go.

I have to say, getting flipped, doped, and God knows what else, well it's not much fun when you've also got four people after you.

Managed to make it a surprisingly close shave, but there was no getting around losing that lol.

Also, for anyone who's going to play, I'd recommend saving up your RPG for beasts.

My only question is why when I hit the "In the Zone" icon it slows ME down? Shouldn't it slow the enemies down only? When the enemies get it, it also slows me down. Does it slow both teams down?

Well yeah, I'm not sure what's up with that.

I got zoned a few times; it slowed me down.

I picked up the zone thing, then it told me I was in the zone, and I was slowed down. They seemed to be too, to be fair, but shouldn't it only be the enemy?

No Use For A Name

I've gotten through the last 3 Adversary updates without even knowing of their existence.

I'll pretend like I never saw this thread and go about my merry way

Flipped: Scramble your opponents by picking up Flipped, temporarily inverting all enemy camera controls and mixing team chat to truly get in their heads. :panic:

Why is this game getting more and more childish and casualized ? Damn kids, shouldnt even be playing this game.

The new adversary mode is garbage in my opinion.

Well, for me gta 5 itself was already childish and casual

but we all have our opinions and that's good :^:

If this much effort were put into adversary modes in the past, they would likely be something the community actually looks forward to. I will say that the Zoned power up is f*cking bad ass. I'll pick up the heavy sniper and get the Zoned power up going. I have never been so satisfied with sniper kills before.

I managed to avoid a minigun by rolling, adjusting my aim mid roll, coming up and get a clean head shot, it was so sexy.
