Why does it feel like the LTS and Legitimate TDM community is dead

I play TDMs and Captures frequently with my crew, but it's a pain to get outsiders to join.

 

I think a big part of the problem is that there's too many aim settings which divides the community into 4 server-types rather than 2.

 

The game should just have Free Aim and Assisted Aim.

There are only two actual servers for aiming. Full and Partial Auto Aim are grouped together, and Free Aim and Free Aim Assist are put together (even though FAA ruins the game and should be removed).

 

As to answer your other post, I think they mean "legitimate" TDM community as in people who only use snipers/ARs, don't camp, don't use helmets, no explosives, etc.

It has been bad for a long time now, and I personally believe it reached an all-time low when bullet-proof helmets were introduced. This is more related to TDMs, but even with LTS, if you're lucky enough to find a decent sized lobby, it seems that more than half leave directly in the middle of every match or before it even starts.

 

Finding a decent map is quite difficult unless you're playing among a group of people you already know. It's the sad state of the game, and you can almost forget about hosting custom maps that have legitimate titles/descriptions and are not about some sort of HACK RP bullsh*t; very few will even consider joining or staying.

 

People probably leave because they're just there to get their objectives done. I've been guilty of this myself, mostly because I get frustrated when I'm told "participate in a DM", for example, and I do and not get it. If I have to Google what I have to do I'm not going to be a happy camper.

 

I wish they made daily's the same for everyone and made a "Daily Playlist" to make it easy to find join and get your Daily obj. done. I think we'd see a big influx of players in VS as well as races if we had this.
