I'd love it, but I'm sure it presents certain programming problems and that's why we haven't gotten them by now. Maybe in GTA VI Online.

I wouldn't object to it if it became a reality. But frankly, it'd have absolutely nothing to do with Grand Theft Auto. It just doesn't fit the theme of the game. A dumb idea, if I'm being honest.

Just because you do not agree with something does not automatically make it dumb bud but opinions are opinions. There's cats and dogs running around single player, you even hear them but can't see them online. Don't see what would be so difficult about making it another accessory option for apartments, houses, etc...

I'd be fine with them just being props but lemme interact with them in my safehouse at least, play fetch in my living room and have them woof when I entet, the model is in the game so why not make a petition for this? I'd sign and advertise. My dream is that some unknown time I'll be able to pet my husky and say bye to my kittens to go to bahama mamas and party as celebration for a successfully done Casino Heist, not to mention I rolles up in my Tuner.

I just want a husky and a tabby cat. Don't see how this wouldn't work well at all in game. Use the Chop mechanics but replace the model and sounds with whatever animal we buy, let us customize collars and pet houses. There also can be a daily fee of food for the pet and every once in a while be charged for grooming

I changed my take on why I don't want to see pets in GTAO because of Gunrunning.

 

No one, and I mean no one, will settle with a cat or dog. They will all buy a mountain lion or tiger or cheetah or whatever jungle cat they want, fit its back with homing rockets and its ass with a rechargeable jet, and dye its fur in obnoxiously bright fluorescent colors as well as a gold collar studded with platinum spikes.

 

If its owner locks his sights on other players, the pet would automatically attack the targeted players. Hell, the owners would probably be able to set a radius for their pets to attack anyone who steps inside it, and killing said pet in self-defense would probably cost you $50K or some sh*t.

 

So, all in all, an innocent and creative idea like owning a pet would get horribly butchered if Rockstar decides to do it now.

I love this tinfoil hat bullsh*t that always pops up in the "why no animals" debate. Rockstar doesn't give a sh*t about animal rights activists, come on now. Red Dead multiplayer had animals just like Red Dead single player and GTA V. And people post videos from GTA V single player all the time. They're not in GTA Online for technical reasons (bandwidth and lag), nothing more. Which means they could add pets that were isolated to our apartments if they wanted, but I doubt this is something they're too interested in doing.

I think the general public is long past giving a sh*t about controversial content in video games. It's like the Satanic panic of the 80s when everyone got all worked up about heavy metal and Dungeons & Dragons. Eventually the news media gets bored of the story and the public just gets used to it.

I like the idea of animals online, maybe they can either idle in one of your properties (not a garage, it would have to be an apartment or spawn point) and you can choose to have them ride along with you, I dunno. I want a boxer!
