Cosmic Gypsy Posted June 19, 2016 Share Posted June 19, 2016 (edited) A game of paranoia and survival, in a drugged-out, dystopian English city in 1964 http://compulsiongames.com/en/10/we-happy-few My mate just linked me this video, basically, the worlds a mess, but everyone is brainwashed into thinking everything is fine by taking a drug called Joy, you realize what's happening and try break out of the city, however you must maintain your Joy high, not taking joy regularly will have you on a come down, which results in your character forgetting the quest and the game ending. You also need to avoid suspicion in your actions, civilians of the town will attack if you aren't off your face on joy and try and brainwash you back into society. Apparently you can trip on this game.The game has survival mechanics also, food and water, etc. I've read it's possible to rob houses for supplies, live in an underground hideout and craft items, etc. Set in a dystopian 1960's England, wiki says "In this alternate timeline, Nazi Germany invaded England during World War 2. To defeat the Nazi's. the citizens did a "Very Bad Thing", which was so upsetting for the survivors that they resorted to taking a drug called "Joy" that suppresses unhappy memories", and when i go onto the Steam game page it says "Content in this product may not be appropriate for all ages, and may not be appropriate for viewing at work", I've never seen this message before, but it sounds good to me.
