What's the point to having multiple Flares?

you get 16 people with flares, steal the biggest city bus you can find, crank up some dubstep and fly around the city with 16 flares hanging out the window. If R* wont give me a party bus, I will make a party bus.

For the CEO Buy mission where you go to the Drop Zone, and chuck a flare for the plane. What's the purpose to having multiple ones? The plane comes the same whether I throw 1, or all of them. They also seem to stack to cause I'll get that mission a few times, and I'll see about 15 Flare's in my Inventory.

 

 

They disappear as soon as you're finished with the mission. It's never stacked for me. I wish it would though. It'd be cool to keep flares in my inventory.

^ This. I was very disappointed, but not surprised. That's kinda my overall GTA mood these days.

 

Also, you get flares in non-flare missions. I got 8 when I had to take down the thieves in their Valk, weirdly.
