Want to make money by trading crates but afraid getting blown up?Don't worry, here is a simple method to join a public session solo.

I am not using a english version of PS4 so i have to translate it back but i'm not really good at English, i apologise for that.

1.Go to your dashboard

2.Go into settings

3.Go to internet settings

4.Select internet settings

5.Select either wi-fi or Lan(Depends on which one you're using

6.Go to custom

7.Select automatic on IP,DHCP Host Name,DNS but MTU settings

8.When in MTU seetings, customize it, change it to 800.

Then just finish it and join a public sessin. you will fins yourself alone in the public session.

I had massive 10 second-lags to a friend , until I left the Server, changed my MTU back to automatic (1500), and joined the Server again, while my friend was waiting for me.

This method is only useful if you want a solo public session. You're effectively making it almost impossible to create or maintain a connection between clients (players), so even if friends could join your session it's unlikely they'd stay for long.

I've been hosting sessions with friends with my MTU set to 800, and they've had no problem staying...until we get near each other on the map, or share a vehicle; it then lags to hell and you have cars popping out of thin air, and people seemingly teleporting all over the place. Randoms occasionally join, but they soon disappear. I wonder if there is a sweet spot somewhere between 800 and 1500 that keeps the randoms out, yet makes life easier for your friends?

This got me into a solopub, but after about 45 minutes the lobby had a dozen people or more in it. Out of pure coincidence, one was a friend of mine. We goofed around together a bit. No lag issues at all.

 

I guess my internet connection is a beast.

 

After about 90 minutes I gave up on having a solopub and went to the PS4 settings menu and put the MTU back to 1500, which kicked me from GTAO and logged me out of PS4.

 

So, judging by my first try at this, it got me into a solopub at least. When I first join GTAO with normal settings, I always end up in heavily populated lobbies.

You can set the MTU from 576 to 1500. From my experience, the lower number that is entered the greater the chance of no other player entering your session.
