Remember kids, the CEO's, owners, entrepreneurs, etc, of "small businesses" and small business owners in real life work VERY LONG HOURS. The "GTA business" is considered "small." But in this game, that is not the case. Its just the TC being LAZY. Besides, telling people where the enemies are at from the mini-map is a waste of time. Besides, anyone who played this game for over a week knows that enemies pop up as glowing red dots, or aircraft icons. Even if this was a simulator of real life, I'm pretty sure CEO's would do more work than just sit at a computer all day. Besides, queuing up the mission only takes like 5-10 seconds tops after 5-10 minutes.

Please read post #11

As mentioned, I am not 'away from keyboard' while I'm at my office.

I have my map open and I relay logistics to my associates on incoming enemies that they can't see on their map.

if that's true you just won my vote for CEO of the week (get working on that thread fw3 :p). Seems quite tedious and boring to be that type of CEO but it must be pretty effective if you have 3 associates.

IMO you're a good CEO

"Remember kids", is really patronising, but I agree with what you're saying.

The OP is taking his CEO role to heart, and believes he's the actual boss of his Associates instead of remembering he's in a peer-to-peer / PVP game with like-minded people. That's points to his real-life age, and suggests he's pretty young. That's all.

I hear you OP. There's way too much load screen time. I counted a few intervals. Its 15-20 seconds just dropping off a crate at the warehouse. A 3 crate shipment would have an extra minute of load screen. Flying back to office plus load screen to land helicopter, take elevator, computer sit prompt and order takes me on average 3-4 minutes.

Filling up one large warehouse adds 37x 4 minutes if working solo and all crates come in 3s. That's 1-2 hours of loading basically this op is getting rid of. Bravo

And fvck that stupid case at the edge of the desk.

sad that it's not a videogame anymore it's an argument about effective work ethic. Some times R* have got the fun aspect so far removed from this game that I'm unsure if it's really R* anymore at all.

I wouldn't find myself in this position because I'm more than well off enough to ever need to be somebody's "associate", and for a pittance, but I'd probably go along with your strategy the first time, then quit your organisation, and be sure to kill you over and over at some point...if you ever got out of hiding in your imaginary pixel office that is, see if you still feel special then.

You do know people can be "busy" in GTA and still keep an eye on the map right?

It's how our crew play it. Myself and the other associates are usually out around the city either waiting for the next job to come in or whatever. As soon as the job comes in, I'm usually there or nearly there by the time the CEO gets down to street level. Why put the CEO at risk of being killed and the associates taking a pay cut? Works fine for us and we've never lost a cargo delivery yet.

Ikr, I thought this was ceo where you let your workers to the jobs and you give them the paycheck and all that, not ( everyone else goes including the owner of the building) come on R* fix ceo..

I'll help but if my org members are doing alright I go collect bounties, although I do join in for vip work, I mostly finish it myself.

This is stupid and lazy. If you were paying the associates a high amount of cash for their work I could see your point, but they are doing everything and you are doing nothing and getting all the reward for their work.

And as for being the big CEO and boss? I am right now in a lobby with 24 players, 21 of which are CEO'S/VIP'S. It's not even remotely a big deal. Rockstar haven't made a system where you are a gangland leader. Not at all.

They're mad because the pay is terrible. If crate deliveries paid 15K per completion your helpers would be begging you to be in your office to start another pickup the second they delivered the previous one.

Fix the pay for these new activities and it fixes a lot of other issues that are holding it back.

Real life:

Everyone who looks forward to being a manager so they don't have to do the grunt work anymore is aspiring to be the manager that no one respects. A good, competent manager leads by example and has the respect of his coworkers because he is willing to jump in and do the same work and lead in the field.

You can be a manager that just gives orders and sits in an office but no one will ever respect you for that. Don't aspire be a bad manager and a worthless leader.

As a CEO I always take my Hydra and run air cover for my friends, because it makes a big difference in the difficulty of the mission for them, so it's very quick to get back to the office, and since I only have one warehouse I always have a cooldown that applies anyways. Being in a jet means I can also still watch the whole map much more easily than anyone else, whether am looking for what random people are doing or tracking crates/NPCs. I mix in VIP work where I use the Hydra to do most of the work myself, so my associates effectively get paid for helping me with crates.

Ultimately though, what you do will all depend on what actually works in practice with the people you are playing with. As a CEO, if you don't help your associates out you can't complain if the mission fails, and if you don't mix VIP work in you can't complain if they quit because they aren't making money.

Personally, if I saw a CEO sitting in their office the entire time and they weren't one of my friends, I'd probably quit because the only person who's benefitting from that is the CEO... and unless they are a friend I am helping, that's probably no good.

Even if this was a simulator of real life, I'm pretty sure CEO's would be on the golf course or the strip club

Fixed that for you.

This is the way me and my friends play CEO freemode, which will help you understand why Associates get mad at the OP's style of play.

Three of us split up and register as CEOs. All three of us collect crates for our own warehouses. It takes a 'minute or two' longer without any help, but ALL of us have crates in our warehouses which we can sell later on, not just one CEO in his imaginary important role.

We then join together as a CEO and two associates, and do a VIP mission so we ALL get paid 15-30k, depending on the mission. After this mission we split up again, re-register as CEOs and collect a crate or two during the VIP mission cooldown.

Rinse and repeat.

It takes mics and cooperation, but this way everybody earns the same and we all earn WELL, not just one VIP with a million dollar warehouse and measly salaries and bonuses for the Associates.

This is why "Associates get mad when you stay in your office", OP. They're earning sh*t while you're raking in millions. EDIT. AND doing nothing to boot!

Some of you are just straight angry for no reason. If you have a CEO who is constantly launching VIP missions and crate pickups I don't really give a sh*t if they're helping or not. Most of these fetch quests are a walk in the park and as a CEO, I do them all alone anyhow, I'm not trusting randoms with my money.

Like it or not, a CEO stationed in his office constantly launching missions and pickups is a very efficient and feasible process when the associated are competent. Personally, I only do one package at a time anyhow so that I'm maximizing profits while reducing risk of lost cargo. If three associates can't handle one package without a CEO's help, get better associates.

As stated, I don't employ associates, but I have helped friends collect a sh*t ton of crates while they hung back and launched job after job. I got paid well enough and I had a good time. Some of you just want to hate, if the OP wants to play this way I'm all for it. If you disagree, don't work for someone that plays that way...super simple

Lmao, ur just lazy, you're using people to fill your warehouse. The way you Ceo is not work, work is when your filling/selling a full large warehouse BY YOURSELF. Done it twice.

Not mad at all. Just trying to help the guy.

The only competition to CEO work is the acquiring of the associate. Make it worth the associate's time to work for you. Otherwise this DLC is a dull solo grind. Little is gained by remaining in the office. Hopefully he sees that now.

To each his own, tho.

A small sense of power sure does go to some people's heads.

Yea...few people relize that if they had true power it woud corupt them(its best for me i never become USA president btw :p)

That being said.. though the OP has a valid point...if all you associates dont like what you are doing you better make sure you start doing something before youre buisness goes to sh*t.

Then again...there is an argument...if the associates dont like it they shoud leave and maybe even become CEO's themselves

When I'm sitting at my office while a mission is going on....I am looking at the map and relaying information to my associates.

Such as incoming enemy aircraft, or its better to wait and intercept the enemy rather than escorting the cargo.

I am involved in the logistics so they don't have to think while they are delivering.

How do you view a map of LS from inside your office? When I open the map inside, it shows me a map of the office.

Press select...

I also sit at my desk when i'm a CEO, obviously it's more efficient cause you can immediately start a new "mission" in the exact moment the previous one is over. But it's also obvious i play this stuff with friends or people mature enough to understand that we are only playing a game: a game where you need money and you better find the more efficient ways to get it.

Too many randumbs around, just waiting for a reason to blow up your business... no way i'll give'em that reason by hiring them and then sitting in my office. To be honest, this just makes me wonder how many people consantly kiss capitalist butts in real life then seek for a little compensation in a videogame lol

Dude it has nothing to do with R* or how much money he has in the bank. he was talking about him doing this just for the others to make money... these missions are not about the associates working to get paid, its about the game play itself, and hiding in your office is just a joke.

unless you have more than one warehouse you have to wait a few minutes before you can launch your next mission anyway. So there's no time saving.

If you want to save time, have your apartment next to your office, have a heist setup and use lesters invite to spawn back at your apartment then just run across the road and launch your next mission.

Just being a lazy prick!

While I appreciate that is your opinion it is no less indefensible. In the absence of instruction from the game he has every right to play it however he'd like.

Did Rockstar hand out a rule book with the last DLC and I missed it? If so please share it. If not, no one is forcing you to play this way.

Is it clear what the majority of responders think of this approach? I think it is. But one thing you cant say is that his method isnt focused on profit. For him, thats fun.

It in no way diminishes you that he makes more money. So you play your way and he'll play his... until the magical book shows up that is.

I've noticed some VIP or CEO jobs (not sure which yet) allow us to pay associates a % of the profit. Makes me wonder if R* intentionally left the %'s low or if it's just a bug.

Just saying, CEOs should check every once in a while to see if they can give their associates bonuses. Sometimes I can share up to $15k after missions.

In a perfect world we'd all be able to share 100% of profits since it's our money but I think R* did fiddle with the shareable profits for this update. Check your inventory menu after jobs.

A real CEO would just fire their ass for insubordination and find somebody else who is willing to follow orders.

100% correct. I don't hire associates because they expect me to get my hands dirty. If I need to do any part of a job then what do I need an associate for.BOOM!

However, I always run my crates by myself. I can't trust anyone but me. Over 100 pickups and around 15 sales, and I am still at 100% success rate for both... All done solo.

It depends on your associates wether or not you should stay in the office. I'm usually out in the field capturing cargo with my associates, and only hire my friends/crew. But from time-to-time occasionally stay in my office while on a buy mission if irl I have to deal with something.
