Why do associates get mad when I stay in my office?

So going through a couple cutscenes and walking around is too much work? Christ on a cracker

It's not too much work. It's too much time. Do that over and over and it cuts into your time.

Interesting idea but it seems really boring to just stay in the office. If only we could go out and play golf while you let your minions do all of the work...

Thanks for understanding.

Being CEO and being the one that activates all the mission is very time consuming.

Like I said, I have more fun being an associate than CEO.

Let's see: what does the game tell you to do once you've bought a shipment? Ah yes, "Exit the office". You're a lazy-ass sh*t who wants everyone to do your work for you. If you can't see this, then you probably also have some kind of social/mental disorder.

How many times do I have to say it....nobody is 'away from keyboard' doing something else -or- messing around in the office.

I have the map pulled up and I would relay the logistics of the mission to my associates.

I will tell them potential aircrafts coming, whether it is smart to cutoff the enemy or escort the cargo. I can see the entire map and give instructions since they are busy.

You do realise your associates have exactly the same access to maps, threat detection, and on-screen instructions as you do, right? You are achieving absolutely nothing, and more likely annoying them by filling their ears/inboxes with sh*t while they're trying to accomplish a task. Get out there and give them armed cover in the field. If you were my CEO, I'd blow up every crate.

When I'm sitting at my office while a mission is going on....I am looking at the map and relaying information to my associates.

Such as incoming enemy aircraft, or its better to wait and intercept the enemy rather than escorting the cargo.

I am involved in the logistics so they don't have to think while they are delivering.

How do you view a map of LS from inside your office? When I open the map inside, it shows me a map of the office.

I only hire friends/crew as associates for this reason. We have our ways of working and we are happy with that. Some friends are happy to go collect crates while I stay behind and run the office. I never do though, I prefer putting my share in even if there is precious little I can do to help anyway.

If I did choose to hire randoms I would go out there too and do my bit. Even if it was simply air support or something.

Seems the jobs are designed to let the associates do the legwork while the ceo stays behind. 3 associates you can hire. Most crates you can buy are 3. None of the delivery missions are too taxing, even with the super guns the ai seem to have at times.

Having the ceo stay behind can mean they can keep an eye out on map too as lookout for other players intent on disruption.

But I prefer to go out. I don't have cool down with a few warehouses and there is always time for them to restock on ammo etc while I toddle off and do a sightseer or whatever to give them more pay. I'd rather keep the associates happy - after all they will be the ones helping me with my sales. I'm not going to have disgruntled staff!

I'm sorry OP, I can see where you're from and your point of view in this BUT that doesn't stop you being a lazy slob.

If the time to leave the office is too long, then tell yiur associates to go ahead and you eventually catch up, or even better: Work with another associate as a perimeter crew and make sure nobody f*cks your deliver, by the time you have left the office your crew is hafway to the destination so you can get a jet yourself and escort the crew.

If you watch the trailers of the update again you'll see that the CEO is working with the associates, and not sitting in leather chair while his secretary sucks him off.

This update has to be a parody of real life work conditions. The most efficient way for the CEO to earn money is the one that leaves most of the actual work to the associates and makes their earnings plateau on a rather low level. You will have to decide for yourself if you want to earn money as efficient as possible or if you want to actually have fun with other people every now and then. I would advise the latter if only because workforce strikes can be quite violent in GTA. ;)

If you can't see this, then you probably also have some kind of social/mental disorder.

I know people that will be sitting next to each other in a room, and instead of talking to each other like friends normally do, they text each other. LOL

The world has become a major social mental disorder.

Hahahah...

OP is right.. No one has any right on getting mad if they chose to join you when you are CEO.

I myself only join friend CEOs.... So i could give a rats ass what they do really.

Depends on the situation and what is going on. Do as you please but I wouldn't stay in the office all the time that's boring af.

If I have good associates who perform well and know what they are doing and my warehouses are nearly full I'll chill in the office letting them take care of it. However, if it's a busy lobby or I'm bored I'll definitely get put of the office and help and to repay my associates for their services I will do the vip work while they dick around. You work for me I'll work for you

The only other argument to staying in the office would be to preserve thr associates already meager wages. Afterall they get a small cut when the CEO dies..

A real CEO would just fire their ass for insubordination and find somebody else who is willing to follow orders.

100% correct. I don't hire associates because they expect me to get my hands dirty. If I need to do any part of a job then what do I need an associate for.

Feel free to play GTA however you want to play OP. But 49 replies in, I think you now have a pretty good idea of "why associates get mad" if you stay inside.

If I was your associate, I'd complete the first buy/sell mission, but I wouldn't stick around. I know IRL CEOs don't get their hands dirty but this isnt real life, it's a videogame. I like the idea of working together as a team, helping you out to achieve the goal, not do all the work for you while you sit on your ass and collect. Don't get paid enough for that.

For ANY of the responders who gave this guy crap, I defy you to show us anywhere that Rockstar defined the way to play the CEO job.

Additionally many failed to notice the part where he says he is sitting on $200 million. Clearly when it comes to monetarily, he has been successful playing GTA.

Whether or not his style of gameplay appeals to you or not doesnt make him wrong, just different. You should be grateful that he (and others) are still willing to tolerate the likely ineptitude of ran-dumb players.

The most profitable and efficient way of being a CEO would have you running single crates between a VIP mission... solo. Its not a profit generator to pay others who will take more risk than you. If you could run multiple crate missions at once it might be different but cest la vie.

Just remember that there are very few hard rules about how you play the game. Different isnt inherently wrong. Its just different. Having differing things you enjoy takes nothing from either party.

Good luck OP. Your approach while efficient is sacrificing security. You risk more not being present in the event of unexpected adversity. However that is your choice. As you can see many will not understand and will make their own conclusions.

Dude it has nothing to do with R* or how much money he has in the bank. he was talking about him doing this just for the others to make money... these missions are not about the associates working to get paid, its about the game play itself, and hiding in your office is just a joke.

unless you have more than one warehouse you have to wait a few minutes before you can launch your next mission anyway. So there's no time saving.

If you want to save time, have your apartment next to your office, have a heist setup and use lesters invite to spawn back at your apartment then just run across the road and launch your next mission.

Just being a lazy prick!

IamCourtney

The CEO grasps a handful of hundreds from a nearby pile and mops the sweat on his brow, product of a hard morning's Looking At The Map. A jet icon circles a crate icon, HIS crate icon, and over voicecomms, barely distinguishable amidst the explosions come frantic calls for backup. The CEO is happy to oblige.

"We have another jet icon approaching from the northeast," he observes excellently. "Probably a Hydra, could also be a Lazer. Small chance it might just be someone doing some light trolling in their Besra." There, he thinks. That covers everything. I'm doing my part, I'm the brains of this muscle.

An even greater cacophony of detonations and then, with the notification of failure come curses to his name, unconstructive criticism of his ethnic heritage, mother's morality, sexual orientation, all serving as letters of resignation for this latest batch of employees.

"What's the matter with these people?" he sighs as he pours himself a glass of a gin brand only rich people know about.

"Don't they know I'm doing this for them?" he muses as he moves to stare solemnly out the window.

"Don't they realize how many three second animations it took me to get here?" as a single tear slides down his cheek, a shimmering jewel shining in a cruel and unjust world...

If you choose to not put forth equal effort towards acquiring and/or offloading gear, that's your choice. However, you can't expect everyone you meet in freemode to feel the same way.

Disagreements happen in life. Neither of you are wrong to feel the way you do. Just look at these forums. Everyone argues over different opinions every day.

For the record, many people don't view time=work. Some feel that putting in time means nothing if you don't put out any work during it.

Oh look, it's a self-entitled douche who takes role-playing way too seriously.

If you pulled that crap with me and expected me to do all the work while you sat your lazy ass in an office, I'd fly your crate out to the most remote part of Mt Gordo and place a proxy on it.

Rockstar said in the update bulletin that CEO 's would be able to kick their feet up in the office while his men do the grunt work. Its YOUR organization and you have the right to do exactly that. If that guy don't like it he can take his bum ass somewhere and find work. As a CEO I've moved nearly 4O crates on my own so if I want to relax every once in a while then so be it. I hire only friends and crew so there is no complaints.

I kicked back in my office for the first time and it was great. I run my business in the pattern of VIP jobs then buy missions so my employees are well paid besides their normal hourly rates. A crew of three workers should be efficient enough to carry out work. If the situation seems like more than they could handle then I'll join. For now on out I only work when it involves three crates, making sales, or VIP work.

I've read some deluded Original Posts in my time, but this tops them all.

Go out and get a real job, get married, have some kids, buy a house, car, pay the bills, etc... become a CEO of a real-life company, and then come back and say "I manage a fantasy company and sit on my ass all day in a video game". It's crazy deluded. It's a video game and we're all pretty much equal and chipping in to make cash for us all, not just grinding for petty cash to stock up your warehouse while you bask in your deluded CEO office.

Seriously, mate. Get out there and live real/virtual life. Do something, take part.
