Why do associates get mad when I stay in my office?

I don't get it and I got in an argument with an associate in public chat. The guy said I wasn't doing my part but I disagree because it would be a waste of my time to get in and out of my office. It's not very efficient.

If I go out on a mission, that normally takes 2 people at max, fly out there and escort them to the warehouse and back to the office, it would be more work for me.

So the associates get to roam around in their cars or wait outside my office......

Where I have to either land the helicopter, go through the office and sit through the 15 seconds it takes to get in the office (slight animation) then run to my desk, sit down(more animation) and use the computer. Activate the mission and then run all the way back to my secretary/elevator, wait for the exit (more animation) while some associates are half way to the cargo. I think I do more work than what they think.

One more thing, if I have to go back on the roof, not only would I exit on the rooftop but I also have to run through a series of stairs to get in the helicopter.

If we calculate time and effort, it is not efficient for me to do any of this. CEO's also have to go through the cool down period if they have one warehouse and we are force to be in our office while the associates can roam around. Get some clothes, fix their car or run to get snacks.

My reply was that I am the boss.

I seriously get more joy out of helping others with crates than I do myself. Being CEO is a lot of work.

The point of the FAFF update is that there are CEOs who can stay behind and let their associates be the workers, so you are right. I mean, thats how CEOs usually work so...

As a real life boss in the past, I became adept at rationalizing my behavior in just the way the OP has.

Finally, one of the guys working for me put a sign on his door, "Work hard, or wear a tie"

I think he got it.

Thank you for understanding.

I'm not being lazy and I wouldn't be a CEO if I was lazy.

I just think its more efficient to maximize our time if I stayed at the office. Look at all the stuff a CEO has to go through.

-Stupid enter/exit office animation.

-Running to computer and running back to elevator.

-That stupid 5 second pause after activating the mission.

-That stupid case in front of the office chair that you have to run around.

Just too much to go through while all the associates have to do is wait in their cars or wait in the Buzzard.

Associates usually have to do the work so I think they have you beat on this one as far as work

Associates : 1

You : 0

When I'm sitting at my office while a mission is going on....I am looking at the map and relaying information to my associates.

Such as incoming enemy aircraft, or its better to wait and intercept the enemy rather than escorting the cargo.

I am involved in the logistics so they don't have to think while they are delivering.

Sounds like you're just lazy to me. You must have absolute faith in your associates to get your product safely delivered. They're not even getting paid for the work they're doing either. The least you could do is go out and help instead of being lazy.

Every other CEO I've seen as been going out with his team and helping

Not to mention if somebody leaves and a crate is left behind it's almost certainly going to get destroyed. Or they're going to sit there and protect it hoping you come and then get blown up with the crate and all your product is gone.

Please read post #11

As mentioned, I am not 'away from keyboard' while I'm at my office.

I have my map open and I relay logistics to my associates on incoming enemies that they can't see on their map.

What you're doing there is pretty much the equivalent of idling in missions. And what do you think of those people? And anyway when playing as a CEO the objective comes up and also asks the CEO to go and collect the crates so by staying in the office that's just pure lazy...

I don't have to do this as someone that is sitting on 232 million as we speak.

I do it so associates can make money.

He is actually right, a CEO -is- usually sit, plan, and organize the team working for him. Hence, Chief Executive Officer.

If you guys ever, play roleplays, when you become a high ranked, all you do is do nothing, and money comes to you.

And if you go out in field and help your team work, that's not CEO, more like a Supervisor.

But in this case, I usually help my team cause my money is there, different than real-life CEO where I could trust the people hired.

---- Btw, Associates don't make money buying cargo nor selling cargo. They just get 10k per 15 mins being Associates.

There are 3 crates, 4 people in the organization, the CEO is the one who HAS to return to the office after EVERY mission to activate a new one, it makes sense for him to remain in the office while others collect crates provided there is no imminent threat to the organization from jets.

If the CEO has a Hydra, I would prefer that he comes out from the office and runs air support during the mission, and after he sees that the associates are home free to the warehouse he returns to his office at high speed in the jet, lands on the roof and prepares to start the next pickup.

If there are jets in the air and you stay in the office, I do not agree with you. In my opinion a GTA player should ensure they own a Hydra and learn how to fly it before they even consider buying an office and hiring people to work for them, as a CEO if there are jets in the air I will call my own jet and fight with them while my associates gather crates.

I would still be an associate for OP but I'd be without care, if I get destroyed with cargo I wouldnt care, neither would I waste ammo.

On 2nd thought, thats more on R* and their poor pay than OP. He's just playing boss on his own terms.

Is it the best way? Naaaah, his workers dont like it which affects their job, and he'd be of better use outside patroling in a hydra than hidding in the office. Before they would finish delivering he could already be back behind the desk, so it seems lazy to stay in and less efficient.

Don't get hung up on a title. Don't be a dictator. CEO is a lot of work for sure. But sit in your ivory tower too long and you'll be doing this solo. Not much fun.

Your business success ultimately will be determined by how you treat your associates. As CEO you must keep your people happy. Keep them busy; having fun; making them money. My guys made over $500 000 today. Give them your toys to play with: the Hydra, Buzzard, Insurgent. Run VIP work and contests between buy and sell jobs. Get into the trenches with them and get your hands dirty. If they see you working hard they are more likely to work hard too.

A true CEO leads from the frontline! You want it done fast and with out fail, don't sit behind your desk doing sweet f*ck all. Why even bother playing the game if your just going to sit there doing nothing.

you're missing the point for this DLC. it's not about role playing as a c*nt of a boss CEO. The pay for associates is pathetic, the pay for CEO's is not worth the trouble either. Crates are not for making money, they're there for having fun collecting them and delivering them.

You need some lessons in how to be a true leader, not some pussy CEO, sitting behind his desk having a wank. Im surprised they don't go blow up your crates themselves. End of the day if you want the job done right, do it yourself. Don't sit behind a desk clicking buttons.

Im lvl 718ish and randomly accept a guys invite to his organization. He starts a buy from his office and I wait for him to come out. After seeing he is not going to do so, I spawn a buzzard and go to act as air support. I blow up the enemy boat, an attacking buzzard and shadow the other two to land.

I warn our ceo that this other aggressive chap will be coming for us and he replys that he is safe in his office. I expand map to see any immediate threats and land to pick up the carriers, as they start boarding I see jet icon coming fast, begin to take off when we explode.

As ceo, if u dont fly something or drive something you are not helping. I can check a map but what I need is backup. If that ceo had been in the air when that other dick showed up, we might have managed it, but he wanted to do F all and lost his money.

I am usually ceo and run things in a way that actually puts cash and a good time in my associates pockets. Im always there helping. I drive the limo and let them gun. Ill spawn my technical and then vip limo, so two people can be gunners- a good time.

It goes, buy run, then immediately start a hostile take over, usually merryweather or lsia since closer, then buy run, then immediately the assassination mission, then repeat. When I need a break I'll start piracy prevention amd go smoke or piss or whatever. They have that on lock and I give away my piracy bonus.

If u want your associates to make money. Do vip jobs inbetween your pickups and give your vip cash to them when it allows you a shareable %. And those vip missions go FASTER if you drag your ass out to HELP them. You make a decent chunk of profit off of sell missions, they dont make dick unless you are showering them with vip cash.

I can safely say that I would not work for you, and if you cannot see the error in acting as a talking radar dish, incapable or stopping or distracting enemies, I would definitely judge you.

So many angry people in here. If this is how the OP wants to play, let him be. If you don't like it, don't work for him - simple. For the record, i don't agree with the OP, but there's nothing i or anyone else can do so let him be.

Interesting idea but it seems really boring to just stay in the office. If only we could go out and play golf while you let your minions do all of the work...

For ANY of the responders who gave this guy crap, I defy you to show us anywhere that Rockstar defined the way to play the CEO job.

Additionally many failed to notice the part where he says he is sitting on $200 million. Clearly when it comes to monetarily, he has been successful playing GTA.

Whether or not his style of gameplay appeals to you or not doesnt make him wrong, just different. You should be grateful that he (and others) are still willing to tolerate the likely ineptitude of ran-dumb players.

The most profitable and efficient way of being a CEO would have you running single crates between a VIP mission... solo. Its not a profit generator to pay others who will take more risk than you. If you could run multiple crate missions at once it might be different but cest la vie.

Just remember that there are very few hard rules about how you play the game. Different isnt inherently wrong. Its just different. Having differing things you enjoy takes nothing from either party.

Good luck OP. Your approach while efficient is sacrificing security. You risk more not being present in the event of unexpected adversity. However that is your choice. As you can see many will not understand and will make their own conclusions.
