Hi Friends. Many people like TLaD as their best game in GTA IV Era. But did anyone like TLaD's Main Protagonist Johnny Klebitz, who was really glued to his Hexer?

I prefer TBOGT over TLAD, but I prefer Johnny over Luis. Johnny truly cares about his friends and chose them over a deadly rivalry, unlike Billy. I like Luis too, but not as much as I liked hm.

I liked Johnny, he's a good protagonist. He's loyal to The Lost, has some funny quotes, smart by trying to stay away from drugs, and overall has good characterization.

Yes, but he got Jim killed as Ray said don't get too clever, he did and paid for it.

Yes, I liked him. He's my second favourite Protagonist in the IV Saga.

What happened to him and his friends in V was inexcusable.

Man I miss John. He was a one princely son of a bitch. The best thing this trio ever had.

My TLaD experience was pretty much the same as with Halo Reach. Parts of my two absolut favourite gaming franchises, but not too excited before I played them (didn´t know if the games would appeal to me, biker theme and a Halo without Master Chief), but as soon as I started playing, I had a total blast and was affected deeply at the end (even if TLaDs ending is more bitter-sweet and not as sad as Reach´s ending).

One reason why I enjoyed TLaD so much was Johnny. A tough guy with a dry sense of humour who also has a heart, always loyal to his friends. But also an anti-hero, being treated like a doormat and stabbed in the back by so-called brothers, seeing everything he believed in going to sh*t. But even then staying true to his principles. I like his conversations with Stubbs, especially the phone call after the storyline. You learn much about Johnny´s personality, making him very likeable. Even a cynic and unprincipled prick like Stubbs is giving him credit for that, although he can´t understand it.

"You see, we got a set of codes that mean you can´t keep on like nothing´s happened after brothers turn on brothers and your world turns to sh*t."

"My, my, a man of principles. Impressive, Klebitz. You must find Liberty City an awful place to live. Such a shame your values are more suited to medieval times."

"Yeah, well, I prefer to stand up for something then to chop and change and stab a friend in the back to get ahead. That´s why I didn´t become a politician. So long, sport."

Johnny Klebitz, lost, but not forgotten.

Oh, for sure, Johnny is a fantastic character. What I find interesting about him, in comparison to other post-VCS protagonists (since that's where Rockstar really started putting more effort on humanizing the characters), is that Johnny is completely unashamed about what he does, fully embracing and feeling comfortable in the life of crime, while he's still, next to Niko, probably the most relatable and sympathetic lead in the HD era. And there is no attempt to redeem him, or make him coflicted about his morality, no judging.

It's an interesting balance. Many games with unapologetic "villain protagonists" are very critical of them, in-narrative (even vanilla IV was, even though people like to gloss over that), but TLaD isn't. Johnny is a criminal, murderer, drug dealer and a rebel, but he's still framed as a "good guy" in this story. The only negative traits called into question are his greed and disloyalty, but he still clearly stands as the "better man" compared to the likes of Billy, Brian etc. I'm pretty vocal about liking games that try to make me feel uncomfortable about the characters I'm playing and the choices I'm making, but TLaD does the opposite just as well and it deserves to be commended for that. It's pretty cool how they managed to make this scoundrel so likable, without woobifying him, forcing the sympathy onto the audience.

Johnny is the perfect 'Anti-Hero'. A Leader who wanted the Lost MC to think before doing. A sharp contrast to Billy's 'Shoot First Questions Later' Attitude.

I always liked Johnny even in his limited appearances in GTA IV, but playing TLAD made me truly appreciate him. It's a shame GTA V's terribly executed writing for the sake of "shock value" ruined such a great character. :(

Johnny was loyal to his friends and he tore sh*t up in LC. I liked him until R* flushed good writing down the sh*tter and they turned him into a weak meth addict.

Where did you get this 'Johnny Beating Trevor' Video?

Storywise I prefer GTA IV at 1st, TLaD at 2nd, and TBOGT at 3rd.

I just re-played that mission today. It's like he was a totally different person. Whoever wrote that scene should feel ashamed.

Yes, but not crazy about him, would had liked a character who's less responsible, more of a hellraiser and much more impulsive, like Billy or Trevor.

He has funny quotes and a cool voice though:

...The only negative traits called into question are his greed and disloyalty...

When you say disloyalty you mean betraying Ray?

F*ck Ray, screwing him is one of Johnny's better moments, wish he was more of a dick to people.

As we saw in Did You Like:

1. Niko - 90 Percent Say Yes. 10 Percent Say No.

2. Luis - 70 Percent Say Yes. 30 Percent Say No.

3. Johnny - 100 Percent Say Yes. No No's.

Yeah,I liked Johnny,he's one of my favorite protagonists in the series. How could I not like a badass biker riding a cool chopper and kicking ass of anyone who messed with him or his motorcycle club.I'd just like if he was a bit more customizable, like having a few more outfits or something, but he's still a great protagonist. It's a shame R* turned him into a junkie and had him killed in GTA 5.

Yeah. R* could add more outfits like it added in GTA IV and TBOGT. Johnny's phone is not so good. It could be improved.

A Biker Themed Clothing Store would have done wonders for the Game.

No no's? And people say fans hated TLAD and Johnny..

I really liked Johnny. He was a f*cking badass. No bullsh*t, funny, not afraid to take a hit for people he care about. He was a cool SOB. And he looked like a certified badass as well with the golden earing.. scratchy voice and the f*cking crazy eagle tattoo.

Shame some f*ckhead(s) ruined his character in GTA V.

Left more of an impact than M, T or F. An excellent precursor to John Marston.

interesting character, still a f*cking d*ck.

Jim F. was much more likeable... too bad Johnny got him killed.

Well, selling that smack proved difficult, if not impossible, on top of pissing off the Angels Of Death. No profit, and a deadly enemy across the whole country.

Meanwhile, he stole Cash from Ray, you don't have to sell Money :p , and the crime family Ray was a part of was falling apart anyway.

Johnny boy knows how to pick his fights. Jim probably dissapeared with the money and his family away from all the bullsh*t that was going on.

Good point... :monocle:

Desperation makes people unpredictable, see: Kate, Jim... Also: If one guy can destroy a whole chapter...
