walkman057
I have been wondering this for a long time but never really thought of coming here until now. I don't understand why GTA Online has more access to buildings, features and customization than in Single Player. I love GTA Online, but sometimes I don't have Xbox Live and I can't play online. I think that Single Player should have a lot of things that online has. This could include tracking/insurance on cars, being able to go in all the buildings that you can access online, and maybe even have new heists with the three characters. Let me know if you like this idea down below. Thanks!
zanesix
It's bullsh*t that they started restricting this stuff to online only, and my theroy of them doing it is because they are paranoid of their shark card sales. People originally got pissed because you couldn't try out the new Heist vehicles in single player, and then it progressed to the lowriders DLC not being in SP, giving online a EXCLUSIVE FEATURE that is in no way obtainable in single player. This then went on with rockstar not updating single player whatsoever, leaving out new weapons, cars, and whatever other extra cool sh*t (Like the being able to open doors and windows through the interaction menu, f*ck I wish they put that in to single player) until the second lowriders update where they tried to RESTRICT access to it, even if you spawned the new cars/weapons in with a trainer. And so it was, people realized that Rockstar has now gone in to the Mr.Hyde phase of it's life.Luckily with PC players, you can just mod these tings in, but those shouldn't have to exist in the first place. For a more in depth look at this, this thread here tells the whole story, and a that shows the bullsh*ttery they pulled. By far the most irritating thing I have seen Rockstar do (Or not do, I guess) other than making shark cards a thing and shutting down FiveM and GTA:MP because they saw it as a threat. Bullsh*t. oCrapaCreeper
They can't print money out of Shark Cards if everyone is playing single player. Simple as that. PhillBellic, Pink Pineapple, Misunderstood and 1 other
PhillBellic
With SP Gaming, they can only get your Money once. With MP Gaming, there's a constant Cash Flow... This is a growing Industry wide problem, and not just confined to Rockstar. R3CON

combustion
I have been wondering this for a long time but never really thought of coming here until now. GTA Online, being a persistent multiplayer game will keep on receiving content updates as long as the devs want to. However, GTA V, being a solely single player game cannot be updated for that long. Be happy that the game is still getting bux fixes after 3 years, unlike GTA IV. As for the insurance part, this should have been in SP, and I thought this would be added in the current gen versions, but R* didn't. The other Online-exclusive stuff seem out of place in SP. Only Michael, out of the trio would most likely own a million dollar yacht, but thanks to the poorly written story, it's unknown whether he'd survive the ending. None of the trio also seem to be the person who'd drive lowriders, nor do they seem as the people who would run a successful criminal organization. Regarding the content being 'blocked' in SP, this was not to dissuade people from play SP, but rather to prevent the unreleased vehicles from being leaked. The only vehicles of the Finance & Felony update 'blocked' in SP are the 811, X80 Proto and the Seven-70. The other all vehicles can be accessed without the use of mods. This is just a (horrible) security measure by Rockstar, which failed anyway.
