Azarael
Because nobody pays particularly close attention to the interior of the car. What you and other players will see is the outside, so there's no point in wasting time modelling a slightly different interior for each vehicle. If 99% of the players are interested in what's on the outside of the vehicle and only care that the interior is at least consistent for the vehicle's type (super, muscle, etc), then it's a smart decision not to invest time in unique interiors that will only be appreciated by a tiny subset of the populace. Besides, if you're driving in first person, the last thing you should be paying attention to is the interior. You need to concentrate on the road. Mach1bud
It is not being lazy, it is resource management. To save time and money, they chose to reuse some interiors. Those other games that have been compared are nothing compared to GTA. This game requires a lot more work into it than those. Hunter
Well I play mainly third person, so I don't notice it much. It does seem like a lesser issue if I'm honest. I mean, the interiors being the same aren't hindering the way you play are they? Not like, say, jets, or the homing launcher, or the lack of dedicated servers. I guess they should have different interiors, but I just feel like there are bigger fish to fry.
MaleTiger
First person was added after they made all of the cars mostly. I never play first person on GTA whereas Forza I'm always in the Cockpit IamCourtney and SoDank_ItPainsMe
MrcTOtheJ
Save time and space, and most are touched up from how they generally looked like in the last gen, and there were shared interiors there, as such when they were made a bit more presentible/given functional gauges for the update to PS4/Xbone/PC it stands to reason there's be allot of repeats. On top of that they probably know most people spend more time in Third person.

ScooterEightyTwo
The reuse of interiors annoys me a tad but it's tolerable for the most part, except that the muscle & SUV interiors are hideous & are just depressing to look at, & that some interiors just do not fit their cars at all, like the '70s muscle style interior for the Dominator & Gauntlet? or the '90s style SUV interior for the Surfer? who thought this was a good idea? It's somewhat an inconsistency with the game as a whole when you think about it, consider that everything in this game is a parody of it's real life equivalent, so you'd think a car's interior would be a parody of that car's real life equivalent? DangerZ0neX
Rockstar are such huge car fanatics that they gave a Bently the interior of a 95' Explorer, a modern muscle car the interior of a 70's Challenger, and BMW M6 the exhaust and engine sound of a hairblower. R3CON
I don't work for Rockstar, so the idea that Rockstar saves time and money by not creating specific interiors doesn't benefit me, the consumer, at the end of the day. I would love to see individualized interiors for every vehicle, especially now that first person is a thing. I think it would've been a worthwhile endeavor, but I dont make the rules and the powers that be have decided otherwise. Its not a deal-breaker to see the same tired interiors carry over from brand to brand, model to model, regardless of the exterior design. But it's certainly disappointing. twurk
Because first person view is a gimmick. They thought people were going to use it for like 5 minutes, go "WOW THIS IS TRUE NEXT GEN EXPERIENCE", switch back to third person view and never notice how lazy the interiors are. ksdoug, TheTruthIsFree and MrcTOtheJ

Why can't Rockstar?! Both of those games have much less content in non-car areas than GTA. That's why: priorities. Might as well ask why the environment in The Crew is less detailed than GTA. It's not "laziness" (typical ignorant judgment from someone who has clearly never written a piece of software); it's priorities, so the game is released on time, performs reasonably well, eats up as little of your hard drive storage as possible, and focuses on the other parts of the game that matter most. /thread Edited June 19, 2016 by Nutduster Azarael

Reathyr
Because creating a single model is a very very long process, it involves concept phase, high poly model phase, low poly model phase, texturing and mapping phase, etc., it will take artists days to do, not to mention that to more unique you make something, and thus the less you can reuse assets to more time it will take, and since time is money, well you get the idea. Tho I loathe to go GTA's stupid cousin, the boys at APB:Reloaded recently released a dev blog on what it takes for them to get a single weapons model into their game, which explains it much better then I can: http://apbreloaded.gamersfirst.com/2016/06/apb-reloaded-weapon-pipeline-overview.html
Lakitu
- Rockstar are lazy - They'd rather create Adversary Modes and bullsh*t to sell kash kerds - It saves on texture memory which reduces risk of pop-in as more memory can be allocated to the game world. If you had about 30 cars at once, only 4 or 5 sets of textures need to be loaded for the interiors. If 30 different interiors needed to be loading, you are looking at a 600% increase in texture memory required to load these interiors properly. To OP its not laziness, those games you mentioned are strictly driving games, games dedicated to only driving...of course they would have all interiors....this game is massive, ive noticed similar ads and shop layouts here and there....the game is still designed very well and has lots of attention to detail...of course some things will be pasted and re skinned...there is not a single game in this world where that does not occur. This fan base is so harsh over the smallest things....its not like they are ALL the same, remember gta is an exaggerated condensed version of real life as a crime simulator, a lot of us drive cars that other people own...my sister and ex had the same car, with the same interiors, its happens....you just notice these things more cos it is in a smaller condensed environment.... surely this cannot bug you this much..what are you looking at the dashboard or the road? besides choose are car from benny's and you can do it up a little if you care that much HeavyDuke and Kid-A

This. Sometimes they don't physically fit, let alone visually. Plenty of stretched/cropped panels and clipping body parts. The 70s barebones interior hurts on cars that should be full of electronic controls and displays (hello Ruiner); even the coupe/sedan interiors would be better. Then you have some obscure vehicles that you can't even own/mod that come with completely unique interiors. The worst thing is, most of the vehicles had their own designs on last gen...
