"I Am Martin Madrazo..."

We Are Ninja

Two and a half years ago, my character and I arrived in Los Santos and met Lamar Davis. Armed with a pistol, a stolen car, and the clothes on her back, we began clawing our way up from the bottom. We were small-time AF, begging low-lifes like Simeon and Gerald for work. Over time we graduated to pulling off larger jobs for Lester and Martin. Eventually, we made it to the big time and were able to pull off heists for the major players (and Trevor) , after years of working for someone else the FAFF DLC allowed my character and I to become a power player. Anyone that says FAFF isn't a game-changer is... entitled to their opinion. You effectively go from being an employee to an employer. But, unlike being a VIP, you're tasking others with doing for you what you used to do for the in-game characters. My character is now essentially a Madrazo-level CEO/character in the game world. Early on, we used to wait for job offers on our phone. Now, we get to determine the jobs, and other players come to us for work. IMO, FAFF has added a whole new dimension to GTAO.

FAFF might not be the most lucrative DLC ever, and it most certainly isn't perfect, but it's completely changed the tone of the game. I mean, technically, it's still an endless stream of fetch quests, but the context of the work and the time-intensive payoffs makes it feel fresh and new... Every cent my character and I make is based directly on how hard I work. Every dollar of profit is the result of how much time, effort, and risk I saw fit to take. That's cool as sh*t to me. I haven't done a contact job or a heist since FAFF came out. I probably will, but now I'm not dependent on doing work for other people. Instead, people in the lobby message me for work, but I can earn with or without them. My character is now self-sufficient. I'm not saying that this is GTAO's endgame (by any means), but I'm legitimately impressed with the way that the game's "narrative" has evolved. It'll be interesting to see where R* takes things next.

Thoughts?

I agree. The F&FF has been an absolute blast and re-invigorated GTA online again. Thanks, Rockstar.

There are some flaws with it, and the potential to lose your hard-collected crates without careful planning, but it's a great update. Just the ability to leave CEO and join another player as an associate to help out, then go back to being your own CEO again is really welcome.

Unfortunately that'll never happen based on the fact that Madrazo appears in Storymode, presumably after the events that occur online.

Trevor managed to do it.

We don't have to kill him, just injure him enough for him to not want to muck about.

IMO it's the way I imagined playing missions from the start, no loading, no safe zone, just open world mayhem. Loving it too :)

CEOs are also the new pre-pay-patch Geralds with how sh*t the payouts for associates are. I could earn more grinding Gerald missions in an hour compared to what associates currently get. Reason I haven't bothered accepting invites even though I'd like to.

As the new Martin Madrazo, I have only one thing left to do...

But seriously, it's nice to see the progression from when we started from scratch in October and became CEO's last week. Who knows, maybe Mission Creator is next?

Non Funkable Token

That's the reason they don't add more contact missions since ages ago and probably never will. You were a VIP, now a CEO, the days of working for f*cking Madrazo for a cookie are GONE.

And I hope Gerald gets a sudden death while saying "Aaaaaaaaaaaayyyyytttt". Maybe some of his organs are usable already.

You need to get your strategy right, by the sound of it. I'm making more money in freemode than ever before.

Guess I just love this update.

This. I could come up with a dozen ways to make this game different and interesting. Instead we get go-fetch and go-fight. That's it.

Gerald and Simeon are the first names on my sh*t list, motherf*ckers pay us sh*t for back breaking work.

Totally agree OP, great thread!

I was actually thinking about the same things when the DLC came about and it just feels so awesome that now we are our own bosses and are self sufficient, it gave us a giant leap of progression. People like us that have played since day one (also those playing for a long time) are even luckier as we can get this true feeling of progressing after all our hard work and grinding, and now it has paid off.

We are close to Madrazo level, certainly, but not quite there yet. Let's remember that Madrazo runs operations internationally with his drug and crime rings, technically we do to as we buy and sell from/to other countries but everything we do is based in LS. Martin has operations like ours on various places, but I'm sure we will get to expand to another state in the future.

Now all we need is an "official" timeline of events, from where we got off the plane till the end times on LS (how and whenever that may be) :)

Not with the new payout scheme. Just as an FU I'll fire up Blow up etc... Then go make a sandwich / clean the bathroom / whatever. Come back 12 or so minutes later, blow up the cars, walk to the dealership (following all pedestrian walk / don't walk signs) and collect $12,000-$15,000 for the job. f*ck you Simeon!

You call yourself Madrazo yet you pay your "subordinates" 5 grand per 15 minutes.

LOL. I started typing and must have hit the Tab key at some point before hitting Enter.

Werd. If I hadn't worked my way slowly through the ranks, it might not seem like such a big deal. But my character was homeless for a long time. She was actually robbing stores for the money...

Truth. I could actually teach Madrazo a thing or two about getting more work out of his people for less money...

My friends making 5 grand to sit in the Customs while I do VIP work sounds pretty damn good to me.

CEO or not, I still prefer to assume direct control most of the time anyways.

Which is a roundabout way of saying it's nice my friends can do all the package collecting for me, but that I can do it myself whenever I want.

Let's be honest here. If this was an MMO maybe some of you would a force to be reckoned with, but your just a player with a lot of things. Your not a serious threat like Martin...

While you were off playing with yourself for 15mins, I played more missions and made another 25-30k more. Noobs always think it's best to let the time run, when all their doing is wasting time. LOL

A man has to eat and do his chores on occasion, might as well rip off Simeon while I'm doing it.

Otherwise I'll fire up a time locked mission and spawn custom Dubstas / Sandkings then knock it out quick with my Buzzard.

"I am Martin Madrazo ...", and I'd like you to stop landing a Mil-Mi 24 on my roof.

On topic, this update is quite nice. Mixes things up a lot.

I do think they should make it a little more solo-friendly though, which they could do with some simple changes. Just let us pick up 3 cargo crates by ourselves. I don't want to be lugging them back and forth. Also, make the jammer something that can be used solo (just put it in the weapon wheel/selection).

Simple changes that would make it a lot more enjoyable for lone wolves like myself.

Other than small annoyances though, it's great. Finally got my hands on Cargobobs (wanted them for ages - in fact, I gave up hoping for them). There's finally something new to do as well. I like it.

Next update should nip some balance issues in the bud though.

I m in between poor and rich. I have 1 appartment, 2 garages, the cheap office and the small warehouse. A buzzard a kuruma two supers two sports and the best car in each other category. My cash now is 1,2 mil.

Im telling you this to justify why i am doing CEO job ONLY SOLO. I cant afford to lose money at all. I dont buy SCs, i dont play heists, my money are earned through races and vip.

Questions

1. How the associate thing works? They help you getting one of three crates for example or you can asign them to take them all?

2. How do you trust people they will do their job, or they wont blow you up when trying to defend you with a buzzard or some stickies?

Never done that and i feel its going to be a disaster for me because of people that dont know how to do the job or they dont care enough as they dont lose any money
