In the end it doesn't actually matter. I think people didn't think too much about the choice they just wanted to be a CEO.

Gun locker is an excellent feature. Only thing I don't like is that if you pick up weapons from enemies during CEO work, you have to keep enabling your custom load out to get rid of them. Plus, during missions your custom load out is irrelevant as you are given all your guns back until you head into freemode again.
