I would say starting the last finale needed for criminal mastermind, because of the amount of time and teamwork it takes. It would be horrible to die right at the end.

Anyone who did Criminal Mastermind is probably going to vote #3. Weirdly, we cruised through the first four heists but once we got to Pac Standard, I think a combination of nerves and exhaustion kicked in and it turned into a comedy of errors. On Vans, the crew member voted "Most Likely To Screw Something Up and Cost Us All Ten Million Dollars" rammed his car into one of the vans - that was our first failure of any mission for any reason, and it kicked off a bunch of problems afterward. On Hack, I drove the decoy van, got nearly boxed in by hyper-aggressive NPCs, and was only saved by the heavy armor and snack-spamming. On Convoy, one guy took off (ill-advisedly to say the least) with the convoy truck while the rest of us tried to catch up; he started getting shot to pieces, freaked out, and just shut off his XBox rather than trying to bring up his snack menu under pressure. Same thing happened, with the same guy, on Bikes; he didn't even sign back on after that because he was so frustrated, so we waited a day to find out if he was even going to help us finish.

Finally we got to the finale and we spent pretty much one entire day trying to craft an approach where it seemed like no one had any risk of dying. This was in the early days of heists so some of the widely-known techniques were not known to most, including us. We did half a dozen intentional "test runs" where we got as far as the bikes, then tried out different things just to see if we could get them to work. Due to problems getting a Kuruma out and all of us into it, we decided on the ultra-safe option of triggering NOOSE and stealing the riot van down the street. That worked - but we got to the boat with only a little time remaining because the tires were shot out, and when we climbed out of the van, one of us (sigh... it was me) accidentally fired an RPG, thinking it was an AR, at cops that were only 15 feet away. Thankfully we all had heavy armor on.

Prepping for and finally running that finale was the most stress I've ever suffered over a video game. The ten million afterward was sweet relief.

Gotta be the darts. Not knowing whether I'll win that 200rp or not is a nail biter. LOL

Having a gunfight in free roam and getting my health chipped away by police and then that resulting in getting 1 shotted by the heavy sniper and the other person thinking that they're better than me.

THAT IS SO FREAKING TRIGGERING.

Dr Labuschagne

Trying to keep with an inexperienced, Lonewolfing,CEO whom tries by all means to never take an alternative route but insists on driving through downtown LS during an FM war...

So far no CEO has ever lost any of their cargo while I was an associate. I don't know when that streak is going to run out...

the tension from trying to complete the emp setup... As you go into the compound you take out everyone as quick as possible, no room for errors. Sweat running down your face as you see no blue blips near the enemies. but as youre almost done Pussy_Tits_69 runs in with his non silenced rifle and thus fails the mission.

Fun thread, Ash-274! Thank you!

I've completed all the Heists, but I've actually never started one.

The Criminal Mastermind goal always intrigued me, but because I only play with randoms (I have no friends. <sigh>), it's doubtful I'd ever achieve it.
Seems completely stressful, to me.

The only thing I find more stressful is when logging on, getting some weird black screen with an obscure Rockstar message, like, "Your account has been suspended. Please check again later."

Happened to me once and, inside, I freaked. I restarted my console, logged on, and everything was fine – but it scared the right wind out of me, for sure! :)

I'd say it has to be the final challenge for completing the Elite Challenge - so much at stake (and sometimes things can go south in the most ridiculous ways on those missions)! I haven't succeeded in getting it and probably never will.

Mind you, that pales in comparison when placed alongside choosing an outfit to wear when I start a session. Can't be rocking the double-denim all the time.

I'm only half joking by the way, it's a real problem

Heists in general are the most stressful things I've ever done, even if you have one or two friends to help out. I had never been so stressed in my life.

When they came out, I just joined randoms, trying to do every heist and setup in order, I gave up after Prison Break...

Then once I gathered a couple of new friends from a random heist and taught them the art of heisting, I almost always had 3 friends to help me, but when there were only two...the one random could f*ck it all up. Heists were like this: waiting for someone to join, he left, someone else joined, he's very very low rank, I kick him, 3 minutes later someone else joins, idc I just start it up right away, he f*cks up and leaves and it's the whole process all over again, not to mention messaging people when it was necessary (+ checking their profile to know what f*cking language they spoke, luckily most knew at least a bit of english even if they didn't say so in their profile).

Yes this. It's like the cops know you have no health so they stop hitting you allowing for a player to pick you off quite easy.

A sniper should be one shot anyway, and they probably are better than you.

I voted for Deliver EMP, cause you know if the 3 lowranks just sit in the car and do nothing youll complete it yourself in 1 go instead of restarting 5 times before someone quits.

Also because Heists with randoms made me quit playing them alltogether. Not worth the stress and $ per min.

It got my vote, too.

While each heist is independent of the others (unlike CMM), you all have one attempt at each finale or else have to do the setups again, and everything has to go perfectly to beat the timers. If the game forgets to spawn even one NPC in Series A you're likely screwed.

Deliver EMP with idiots, I say idiots because I've found the rank of my hired help isn't always a reliable indicator as to my chances of success. Never again. Not unless it pays 7 figures.

The most stress I've ever had in gta was getting special clothing crates (by far) . That was near heart attack inducing.

True, that that was also some of the most fun I've had in the game.

It was horrible when every crate was random during some of the earlier events, where you could get 10 crates and the get the same shirt 10 times and miss out on the other 3 shirts. They finally had it figured out where you would only get a shirt you didn't have and then Rockstar removed the Crates/Special Crates.

definatly criminal masterminds

all that cash, all that experience...and you just cant say f*ck it or you will let down 3 people and will pretty much wasted time

personaly i also do not give a f*ck about darts, i think once in a safe lobby delivering all those crates aint a bad thing, that series a finale comes close, but still, in my case i was pretty sure it was going to happen sooner or later, tennis i also dont care about much, i transfered way after the period it was truely considered dangerous, i dont care about rare vehicles, doing deliver emp with randoms is posible if you are fast enough and i got loads of cash and even if i ever get broke, i know how to get more in a pretty short timeframe

i woud pitty all those that didnt do cmc, if it was not most of them do not know what they miss, thus....just dont care :p

when we did the challenges we used timers, if by X time we are not in X place we just suicide and restart.

i started doing the elite challenges with my friend stang, we did fleeca in like a day or two.

later he invited me to join the prison break, we did that in like a week, took a few days to find a good pilot to land just outside of the prison and a good helicopter pilot to give proper air support.

after that we moved onto pac stan, super easy, hell the easiest elite challenge of them all, completed this one really fast.

then came series a, on this one we spend like 2 weeks due to lag, enemies not spawning on time, enemies not spawning at all.

then came THE elite challenge of the elite challenges, humane labs... took 3 grueling weeks, many many attemps, you have no idea how many times we "failed" the elite by 1 second, it was really frustraiting.

i was so happy when we completed the challenges, i remember a few days after i completed the elite someone wanted me to be part of his team attempting the elite challenges, i had to decline the offert, i was just not metally prepared to go through that again.

Almost failing criminal mastermind! Wish I had a video, it was fu*king intense swimming for the boat after our armored truck took a dive in the creek and we had to swim for the boat with a thousand cops behind us.

I would say the Elite Challenge would be most stressful cause just a difference of 1 sec can be the end of it. CMM isn't that bad. If you're with a good team, you all should be wearing heavy vests/BP Helmets. And prolly use the Kuruma method in the Pac Standard Finale. The only danger in that is possibly catching a RPG blast from someone.

haha its crazy it took so long first time around bro. Yea humane was a huge pain in the ass but I remember last time we made it our first try ;oD. Now they are much easier, Ive managed to do 4 in 1 day a couple times and well over 100 elites in all.
