Hi friends, I am much straightforward in my talks as well as in Texts. Are the things we are debating in GTA Next has got any value? Will Rockstar Games will include the things which we are talking about in The Next GTA? I am serious. If R* will'nt include our ideas, so why we are debating here? I would ask the heads of GTAF, is this page contains any value? Are you providing some of our ideas to R* or just trying to make us debate unnecessarily?
PS: I am just asking you a Question. No hate speech, and no bad things.
Friends, you can join me here too! Vote that you are sure or not!

There are many Creative Topics in The GTA Next Page:

1. Street Crime and How it Can Be Developed.

2. What Would Be The Theme Of The Next GTA.

3. A topic 'Enterable Places'.

4. Etc.

I will be very happy if R* is taking some things and add in its Next GTA.

If it is not doing like that, I will understand that this, GTA Next Page has no value.

It's possible that Rockstar visits the forums and get ideas from here. But even if they don't, the "GTA Next" page is here for us to debate and speculate about the next GTA, so yes, it has value.

They credited the GTA Network as far back as 2002. I'm sure things are taken into account, but its not the be all and and end all, ultimately its all up them. voted Yes.

RIP Rockstar Games

The subforum is here almost entirely because speculation and wishlisting is fun, I doubt anybody is doing it because they think it has some tangible value in terms of the game.

We are discussing about a thing which we do not know. I am not oppossing your thoughts. I JUST WANT THAT R* SHOULD USE SOME OF THE GOOD IDEAS, POSTED IN THE GTA NEXT FORUMS IN ITS NEXT GTA.

I don't think R* really takes our ideas, and interests into consideration to bring any changes or include them in their future titles that fans have been debating here for several years now.

They definitely visit this site. Its the biggest fan community, and as such, does appeal to them, but not directly engaging with our community, which is what I was hoping to see in HD era, alas, that didn't happen.

This means coming up with unique ideas, or just trying to debate about the game in the forums and discussing exciting future, with brand new concepts and game improvements the fans will love, quite frankly, seems to have little to no value for R*.

Simply because I don't see their games getting better and the series more stronger that has so much untapped potential, but most of the game in HD era is according to me just feels a rehashed, re-skinned and re-release versions of their original than more significant changes to the game, that includes modification of specific features, and major improvements / overhaul to differentiate them from its predecessors, despite being repetitively told to R* through e-mails and being highlighted over the years in this forum waiting for them to notice.

So, I don't think whatever we debate, and debated over the past 15 years really proved much of anything in terms of great value for the GTA games to be honest.

I mean, It's been 11 years since GTA San Andreas; R*'s magnum opus of the series, and the last greatest game of the series and the only one that got close to hitting the real heights for the series, as opposed to the HD era titles that despite better technology really don't feel like the GTA I was waiting for the next big transition with the engine change and loads of changes that were either not possible or difficult to get it at the time of making 3D era titles.

Apart from the graphics, I am not really inclined to pick HD games, and explore much either, esp., the emptiness of the world outside the story really makes me sick.

In fact, GTA Online is actually much more appealing to play. It has some great ideas for the future, if R* manages to deliver a stronger and better version that's easier to get into. Unfortunately, its a multiplayer mode, and not introduced for the single player.

I don't know whether there's a chance that whatever we are STILL trying to debate here shall make into the future games in some way or the other, particularly, in SP and not exclusively introduced for Online. But after all these years, and playing their new games so far, I do feel like all these debates and arguments have little to no value.

I have to agree with Osho on this one, since I have neither seen nor anyone attempted to implement all the ideas we have in mind by any game developer out there. It's expected that all our ideas will only be a fantasy and not a reality we will see in the next game. Yes, you can say that R* finally did an HD makeover of Vice City but does that mean that R* is able to take the ideas of majority of the people who agreed here to have an 1980's version of Vice City shall be part in the next GTA game? It's imperative that it will not come to light since it's clear from the start that R* will shy away from all the cliches and all the things we love and make their own version of a modern day retelling of the next setting.

Think about the trailers of GTA V prior to release; for I thought it would be a game changer in the industry due to how realistic the way those people in the trailer act like, how detailed the game world, and the probability of making your own choices are, but alas, 2 years later and the game felt empty, peds are still as generic as any common foe, and we are forced to do the goddamn thing in the missions without any options at all. So you think all the wishlist that people wanted have really any worth or value for R* to take? Some, but not all of it. In the end it's their decision to implement the features in the game not ours and we should accept the fact that no matter how crazy or amazing all our ideas would be, R* will not necessarily say it's approved.

They definitely inspire themselves from us in some things, but they obviously still do it their own way. So same as always, they read, they sometimes listen, but they do it their own way.

I suppose they do and that's how GTA V turned out how it turned out, they probably take note of what would be ideal and what wouldn't. I hope that this time with V's critics and opinions they will know how to really make a better next GTA.

The depressing truth is that until we learn how to make our own games, no game is going to incorporate %100 of our ideas. Well, for you guys anyways, Saints Row IV and now Just Cause 3 allow me to tear up the streets in a giant mech now, and both games have their own versions of superpowers.

But the fact is, despite us playing a lot of games, the people that have to make the entire game probably know a lot more about game design than we do. The other big factor is that when making a GTA game, there is not just us to consider. Sure, there are a lot of people around here discussing the game series in depth, but for a lot of people, the GTA series is just "That game where you have fun blowing sh*t up for a few minutes before you do something else more constructive". This is something that some people around here don't seem to get. When people suggest things like being sent to prison every time you get busted or an arbitrary fuel mechanic that either wastes your time all the time or wastes disc space by taking so long to run out that it doesn't matter, I question if they've even considered other people when it comes to their requests. Same goes for people who want a realistic weapon limit. I mean, yes, it'll immerse you more in your fantasy about being a person who is so desparate for money that he's resorted to crime, but for most people they'll just go "I can't hold a rocket launcher in my pants, this sucks". Hell, I'm one of those people.

What's interesting about GTA IV and V is that even the designers forgot their series' reputation for being that game you shoot cops in for 5 minutes. GTA IV seems to think you actually care enough about it's side characters that you're willing to take them out for dinner every 5 minutes, but then it's so scared you don't like them that it assigns arbitrary perks to them, so if you don't like cheating but need quick medical assistance, you pretty much have to take some snooty woman bowling every time she wants to go. Even the ability to call taxis is locked behind a wall of taking roman to the strip club 586 times.

GTA V, meanwhile, seems to think that we care so much about it's characters that we'll sit through f*cking yoga missions and therapy side activities because we care so much. But then, it goes out of it's way to make every single character a horrible person. I might have cared about michael if his family seemed at all worth saving, but even he hates his family, because they're all 2 dimensional stereotypes of upper middle class los angeles residents. I might have cared about franklin, if he had a personality, but his whole thing seems to be "I want more things. Now I have more things. I'm still miserable. Arc complete.". I might have cared about trevor, especially since he and I both have a desire to destroy everything that looks at us funny, but even he apparently needs some big emotional stuff in the main story. You'd think he and Michael were a married couple, what with the 986 arguments about the opening mission that they have in the story, but I care about as much about his emotional involvement with Michael as I do that one french fry from a fast food meal that I accidentally dropped that one time.

I know people will hate me for saying this, but I got more invested in Saints Row IV. Why? Well, for starters, The President is more likable than all 3 GTA V characters combined, not that that's hard, because your embarrassing racist uncle would still be more likable than the 3 GTA V protagonists combined. I mean, at least he sometimes makes dinner hilarious. But as for Sir Or Madame President, you have an actual personality there. He acknowledges that some of the actions he takes are nuts, but he also enjoys doing them. And he enjoys hanging out with the crew, and the crew are all likable and well rounded characters as well. I mean, what happens in the first missions of saints row IV? First, you defend the white house from an alien invasion with a giant f*cking cannon in a method that seems to be telling Duke Nukem Forever "You see this, bitch? This is how you make killing aliens fun!", and it's so over the top that I didn't even mind that it was a turret section. And then you wake up in this simulation that I personally interpreted as a brilliant piss take on mafia II. You drive forcefully slowly to a diner, and then the people want to kill your guy for swearing, so literally the next thing you do is go to a park, have your friend hack in a f*cking rocket launcher that arrives with choir vocalizing and a firework effect, and then proceed to blow police cars up until the next cutscene happens. Right away, we have the central premise. You have this simulation, and it relies on order, so your job is to bring chaos to it until you win the game. Your goal and the game's goal match up, murder dudes and smash sh*t. That's what both you and the protagonist and all of his friends want to do. And what tools does the game give you to do it? Super powers, lightsabers, black hole launchers, a rocket launcher that you can customize to resemble a guitar, and a wide assortment of crazy ass vehicles that are all over the top and fun and hilarious.

What is Michael's goal? Well, he wants to get back in touch with his family. But he hates his family. But he loves them. But he hates them. And then he needs money because he pissed off some mexican mafia leader, and that's why he gets back into bank robbing. Not because he thinks it would be fun, or because he's going through a mid life crisis and maybe just wants one more "youthful experience". Nope, he's in debt. Right away, he's forced back into the scene rather than doing what he wants to.

And that's the entire theme of GTA V. You're not heisting because you want to, you're either in debt or being forced to by the FIB or trevor. And hell, the one heist where it seems like the characters, or at least trevor, actually wanted to do the heist, you get no money for it because it's a superweapon or something. I guess this was meant to be funny, but all it was was pointless. I mean, did rockstar just put that in there so they could make me work at the docks for 10 minutes?

Speaking of forced things, there are many many MANY points in the story missions where the game automatically switches you to another character. What was the point of giving us the ability to switch if you were just going to pull that sh*t? I mean, there seems to be no tangible benefit for switching in free roam, unless you really like seeing trevor wake up drunk that much. Or if you like having your outfits randomized for you. And yet, most of the time, during the story missions where the switch mechanic would actually matter, the game often forces you into the perspective of one character or another. I mean, that's cool, rockstar, it's not like I wanted to be trevor when he was causing that train crash. Thank you for preventing me from having too much fun, because otherwise I might have exploded or something.

Anyways, no, I don't think they're going to take much of our ideas into account. They might take some, but overall you're not going to see a huge margin.

True.

In my opinion, GTA IV doesn't deserve to be called a "Grand Theft Auto" game. Its full of anti-fun elements and mechanisms, mostly designed to sell a good story and to keep the players hooked with the characters of the said story..than a great sandbox world game like its predecessors that allowed you to have more fun and start your own creative stories using the variety of content and tools available in and outside the main story campaign.

Well if they didn't listen much in V, what makes you think they will for VI ? SP-wise I very much doubt they will.

Online MP ? Yes they will listen more than likely, they will do anything to make sure their precious pet continues to milk consumers of tons of cash.

I'm not saying Rockstar did this because of my topic (that nobody replied to) but I did make a topic about the original camera on the phone being underexposed in September '13 and the filter was removed by December '13

http://gtaforums.com/topic/603080-snapmatic-generally-underexposed-images-rockstar-please-fix/

I think Rockstar do listen to fans but I'm sure they want to do things their way. Also, 99% of our ideas are not coming from professionals of a programming/developer nature so most of the ideas would be hard to implement be it from a coding perspective or some way I/we don't even understand as we're not in the business.

There's several ideas I've fleshed out in detail on here that are similar to what we have in GTA V. I'm not saying they took my ideas directly, but there are certain things I said in a couple of threads that have definitely been developed.

Like this, for example:

http://gtaforums.com/topic/548040-pedestrian-life-and-interaction/

There are things I said in here that weren't in GTAs at the time of writing but are now here. Are they just common sense good ideas, or did they read them and take some inspiration from them? We'll never know for sure.

But I know for a 100% fact that there are people at Rockstar that read this forum.

Why on Earth would I want to tell people on here who they are? I'm sure they'd be spammed to death within minutes. I personally know one person that uses the forums and works at Rockstar, but for the sake of their peace and quiet and discretion, I'm not going to mention their name on here. That'd be incredibly impolite and disrespectful. There's more than one of them on here, I only know one of them personally.

Signatures are dumb anyway.
