Have some of the vehicles had their power nerfed?! [OFF-ROAD]

So yeah it's been awhile since my last off road expedition but I'm noticing some of the cars have becomes just utterly gutless. At one point a fully loaded Patriot had almost as much power as the Sandking. And now I'm just struggling to get up simple climbs. Just wondering if I missed something or maybe the Turbos are broken again or something.

Obviously not a race as he said expedition (meaning adventure off into the woods/offroad - unless he does his offroading in custom races to save on MMI and to enable checkpoints which is the way to go if you don't mind keeping one vehicle for 30 minutes).

Wait, the Patriot was actually good offroad at one point? Well, recently took my 6x6 and Kalahari and they're still the same as they've always been, haven't taken out anything else though. Doubt they've nerfed it, although if you still believe they did I suggest looking into the Rumpo Custom, it's one of the best offroaders at the moment and the latest one in the bunch so it's worth giving it a shot to freshen things up.

That's weird because Patriot always had too much traction loss off-road. It was never even remotely comparable to Baller, Mesa or the new XLS. Considering it is weak on tarmac as well, I doubt they would nerf it even further.

I don't do much off roading but things seem pretty much the same I remember, never used a patriot though, didn't realise anyone did - I thought it was pretty much useless everywhere, don't think rockstar would give it a second thought. Speaking of offroad, how is the rumpo custom off road? The bastard just wants to flip on the tarmac if you take corners at speed.

Rumpo is a top heavy massive pig. But I do off-road trail riding expeditions that our laid out in a "race" format with checkpoints.

What is your platform? If you're on PS4, you might wanna check you R2, most of PS4 controller have issues with that button.

 

My PS3 controller also has that issue but it's because the plastic that keeps the trigger in place is broken.

I know a lot of people who have just went out and bought a new controller..and it's such an easy fix. Could do it in 5 minutes, not even and you're not flushing money down the toilet.

 

Take screws out, pop the front out of the back, carefully pop R2 out of the holders, bend the spring open and put it back together..

I just bought a Brawler and couldn't make it up the side of Chiliad. I'd bought it a few months ago in SP and it made it up easily.

As others stated, the Patriot was never as good as the Sandking. In fact most of the SUVs in this game are woefully underpowered.

That I didn't know. I did have two ages ago but can't recall if it was during the RWD days or the AWD days. I just know that I found it horrible to keep up with the pack (who were and still are mostly in Sandkings because it's easy to drive). I always saw the Patriot as slightly better than the Rancher but not by much so I just went with the Rancher because it looked cooler failing to climb stuff. The Patriot looks good in yellow, so I'll give it that...but not much else to go on with. It lacks character, which the GTA IV one had.

 

@A.I.R: Offroading vehicles all comes down to taste and that's why offroading is so amazing; your vehicle choice isn't judged at all as it can be from a performance viewpoint of a style viewpoint. While it looks dumb, the Kalahari (that small safari truck) is actually one of the best offroaders, capable of following Sandkings with ease up steep climbs. Meanwhile, the Rancher, as I previously said, is horrible at hill climb but it looks so cool. So yeah, I'm one of those that dislike the Patriot but I'll gladly follow one in the trails, I just won't drive it. Oh, by far the worst offroader is the Duneloader. That thing needs to become AWD. It looks so powerful and ready to scrape rocks and climb cliffs. Such a disappointment.

Yeah I'm confused as to why negative feedback on the Patriot. Wide stance for stability, has more ground clearance then a merry weather Mesa, aggressive 4 wheel action. My only beef is the lack of customization, non working fog lights.
