is on his first delivery run

decides to go full risk with 111 crates.

was that a "one plane" mission? u would have died anyway, there are enemy attack choppers that will take you down...

I think it was a one plane mission. It just told me to get in the titan and there were a bunch of yellow drop points on the map.

sometimes there's no resistance on that mission sometimes there is. I did one just like that 20 mins ago and there was no problem. Selling 111 crates alone isn't the best idea at first though.

Anyways, It's the same button as turning on/off headlights.

Risky, but possible solo.

I do not get it. I have an upgraded titan. With armor. Did a run with 50 crates, buddy in a buzzard. one npc chopper starts firing, buddy shoots it down. No sweat. Suddenly I lose all four engines. wtf.

Armor doesn't do Jack. Or are you supposed to jam the npc buzzards? pls help.

You're supposed to jam the NPC Buzzards. Make sure your friend is the co-pilot when you do that run again.

^They really should have just made the jammer something the main pilot can use. Why they didn't is beyond me, would've been so much simpler and made life easier.

So OP pressed every button but the left facing arrow? The hell? Lol

I know it sounds dumb but I guess it really just threw me off guard. I have been playing GTA online for a long time and I dont recall doing anything else in the game that required the use of the arrow keys. Also one thing that threw me off was when it showed the image of the key, it was super wide with a large arrow so I was under the impression that it was the backspace key. I remember in other events where it showed a picture of a key, the size of the image would represent if the key was big or small. Also it didnt help that on my keyboard, my arrow keys are drawn with crocodile characters instead of arrows.

S**t happens. I crashed a Cuban full of cargo into a building the other day in a solo public session because I was super tired and was on the pause menu planning my route.

Yeah. You can never let go of the throttle in the Cuban.

For some aircraft that button means "accelerate" or "maintain maximum speed". In the Cuban it's the "Don't crash" button. If it's not held down... well, you found out.

I was selling 22 two crates today, mission was 2 cubas with multiple drop off points.

I had 2 hired guns both around 70 levels, full session with many CEOs.

I let them fly, both guys cet shotdown same time with homing launcher.

I see my boys lil timmy and jimmy both bailout from cubas for sake of their precious kd ratios.

So what did i do? Made a new world record for fastest switching session. Did only lose 3 crates no sweat.

I had that, I was bring some crates to my warehouse in a buzzard, fell asleep in my chair, big boom woke me up, went to finish it off in a car and go to sleep...

surprise surprise, guy in jet comes along, I tell him to go f*ck himself and turn off PS4.

This entire thread can be summed up to the 6 P's.

Proper planning prevents piss poor performance.

As much as it might hurt your pride, you by your own admission failed to follow the instructions you were given and the result cost you a large warehouse shipment.

It sucks, but if you learn from your mistakes it doesnt have to mean you slamming your d!ck in that same door again.

With all due respect for those whose opinions differ, but the CEO acquisition/sales is entirely an exercise in controlling risk.

I have over 7 million in profits from business conducted mostly solo.

Running any number of crates is a risk. You can control your risk by limiting your spending. Running single crates takes longer, but if something goes wrong you are only out your $2000 investment. Additionally at $2000 crate vs $6000 a crate you are talking a difference of 10% vs 30% base investment.

Know your session members. You can do what I call session surfing. Load new sessions until you get one by yourself or with a number of players you can successfully defend yourself from. Lastly, never run a sale with unknowns in your session.

If you do these things you can mitigate your risk. If someone does blow up your purchase at worst you are out $2000 and you are session surfing. But this is all predicated on accurately assessing your skill level. If you cant follow a basic instruction when provided, maybe another game would be more your speed.

I sold two large warehouses solo... Both occasions with briquades...

I helped a friend out yesterday selling his small warehouse and I failed with the cuban... Got swarmed with NPCs (my friend not) and after 4 dropoffs, engines stalled.. I landed it, but still 'mission fail' and he lost 6 crates... I asked him if he upgraded armor and he didn't... So armor would have given me more flying time (I was evading and lowflying to ditch them (to no avail)), but would I have made it??? Dunno...

I have learnt one thing (from this thread)... If you sell solo and you get a possibly bad delivery scenario... Switch sessions and do another three crate run and hope for a better delivery method next round... No point in taking chances... And if you do and things go sour... Pull the plug asap and lose connection...

These large warehouse, or any warehouse for all it matters, takes way too much time to fill up, only to lose it in a seconds... And doing these deliveries in sessions with strangers is an even more bad idea... Yesterday me and four friends were each CEO-ing for about 50 minutes.. Nice and friendly, no problem.. But after awhile we noticed the session was filling up more and more with strangers... There were about 6 non-CEO white dots around that time... We continued on our merry ways, but I had a feeling, so instead of going for my usual 3 crate purchase, I just took a 2 crate purchase and hoped for a single delivery to the warehouse... It was at LSIA. Had to kill some NPC vagos, then I returned home for a 4 km trip... When almost there, 1 km left, I noticed a white dot following me, and immediately after a CEO turned white dot in a Jet coming my way... I was thinking: Is this the moment where I lose my 100% successful crate stocking streak???

So I pressed forward and drove as close to the building as possible and seconds later explosive rounds blasted past me... I noticed the jet turning for another go, so I pressed forward... And when he was ready for another run, I turned at the next intersection, hehe... He failed again. All t he while the other white dot was shooting the van as well... As I was out of proximity mines, I flatfloored it to my warehouse and succesfully delivered another one... Though it was nerfwrecking (and a lil fun)... So don't trust public sessions too much for deliveries... Better to keep it amongst friends (or solo)...

And one more thing... Don't use a hydra for cover when you're helping a friend deliver with the tugboat.. And certainly not the explosive rounds... U end up destroying other things than those pesky speedophiles... Luckily it was only a small warehouse, which I helped filling up again later on... Felt bad after that one.. Never again...

I did solo for a medium warehouse and got away from two Valks in a Cuban. I just fly high and swoop down at the drop zone and fly back again.

I don't know if its harder depending on the warehouses you are selling.

This story made me laugh.

Sorry for what happened and the funny part is your hired guns bailing out of the plane with your precious cargo.

I would have tried my hardest to dodge the missiles.

This is a nice tip.

However you can also just take a buzzard, savage, or even a hydra and scout ahead and bomb the enemy at the drop points. Then come back to deliver.

True. Lost 200k plus on a cuban run, but that was from one warehouse and not the other. I find multiple houses useful for mitigating loss. I use this to test the waters as IIRC the exact same sell mission doesn't apear in a row. If the bad mission passes I go big and test the waters again after restocking.

Both are good. I'm a greater believer in yours but the the 6 P's make for the best start. (AAO makes for a brilliant finish and as we know it isn't how you start it is how you end that matters. f*ck knows how things go to sh*t for things you can never see or aren't in a place to counter).

In any case I think it was the british documentry (forgot the name) about trading in old militaria that I first heard the 6 P's

LMAO @op.

But tbh, the first time I saw that, it didn't strike me that it's the arrow key either. I had to ask someone what freaking key that is :sui:. Just PC gamer things, I guess.

I remember hearing it growing up and from my time in the Service but I love the question. I expect my exposure is due to a family history of Naval Service where in certain communities that has become a commonly used phrase.

But being a fan of etymology I looked it up.

"Proper Planning and Preparation Prevents Piss Poor Performance is known as the 7 Ps.

There are many variations of this expression, such as 5 Ps and even 12 Ps.

The expression is believed to have originated in the military during World War II.

In marketing efficiency, the five Ps (an infantry division slogan in World War II) Prior Planning Prevents Poor Performance was cited in print in 1956.

Proper Planning Prevents Poor Performance was cited in print in 1961.

The PPPPPP factor applies: proper preliminary planning prevents poor performance was cited in print in 1966."
