I would like to see more dynamic weather.

Such as the desert or savannah regions being able to cause damage or fatigue when you venture through them during midday when the sun is burning. Animals and npc's will hide from the heat.

Heavy rain making roads more soggy and slippery. Affecting your speed and making horse riding a bit more challenging. Npc's will seek shelter in houses or under trees.

Blizzards or dense fog making it impossible to venture through. Would be a somewhat realistic way to keep players away from certain areas during the beginning of the game, such as the mountains and the bayous.

And in general having to dress you according to the weather and/or biome you are in.

More shootouts, as in random events. I think random events/encounters played a huge part in GTAV and made the game more diverse and added that realistic world feeling to it. I hope R* does the same thing with RDR2 but also add random shootouts and not just gang hideouts, Im talking anywhere you are rival gang shootouts. I WANT TO FEEL LIKE I OWN THE WEST!

With how dense the smoke looks coming from the trains you can only hope that any type of fog, snow or rain will have to abilities to get just as dense limiting visibility substantially Edited by SeniorDerp

the camera control system to remain amazing

GTAv really annoys me when you adjust the height and it recenters itself

recentering to directly behind is fine but the height is infuriating

I hope Red Dead Online implements RPG style elements and feels more immersive to the setting compared to GTAO. I would like to see some form of building elements in-game. Such as building up a ranch, building up your gang/gang-hideouts, and upgrade your weaponry. They need each rank level feel like a reward to reach, especially high-ranks. Also keep wildlife online. It annoyed the f*ck out of me that there was wildlife in Red Dead Redemption's mp but not in GTAO.

Random encounter and NPC behaviour.
Why I come back to it now although we already talked about it in the general chat a dozen times?
Well, yesterday I read a little bit in an old novel from my grandma.

It's about a marshal trying to keep his city in order and what adventures he experiences there.
In the beginning scene, an outlaw rides into the city and people flee in fear as he rides down the mainstreet. The marshal is notified and he sets off with his deputies on his way to the saloon, where the bandit has tie up his horse.
The lawman hold their rifles in their hands and enter the room ... The Outlaw stands at the bar and looks with a self-assured grin in the direction of the approaching law enforcers. The marshal loads his rifle and points it at the outlaw, telling him that he is now arrested and is supposed to escort him to his office. But the bandit doesn´t think about surrendering and pulls his revolver.
Normally he would have been dead before his hand came close to the grip of his revolver, but the book is a youth novel, the outlaw is just wounded and put in jail :D

Yesterday I thought about what might happen, for example, if we were riding in a city ... usually nothing. Especially not if we haven´t done anything there yet. But what if we robbed the bank days / weeks ago? Will people react differently to us? Will they run away or inform the Marshal?

I wish that there is something like that in RDR.

Someone a while ago mentioned adding like a Love-Fear slider like the Honor and Fame system in RDR. Granted depending on the story of RDR2 it might be impossible but if you had a high "Love" rank, towns people will help you if you're running from the law or have a Wanted level or stores give you better deals selling and buying items. If its more on the "Fear" side, NPC will avoid you, law will follow you around waiting for you to do something wrong, ect

oh that was already mentioned? ok i didn´t read that.

A fame system fits again very well. But honor or love?
Unless they go more in the direction of the story of Jesse James.
The James-Younger-Gang were so respected by the people that they didn´t betray their to the law, even though they were recognized, did a lot of damage and stole their money.

Well I believe that in a mission in Mexico for Reyes I believe, John says something to the effect of they (dutches gang) saw themselves as a modern day Robin Hood supposedly they robbed only from people who had more than they needed.

So I could see the Jesse James love/fear thing working just fine.

Unless this story takes place after John left the gang and Dutch was more materialistic and insane then yeah not so much.

But you brought up a good point I was thinking of today in an earlier post you made.

Say for example we ride into a town 15 killers strong, rob the bank shootup the town and get in a chase with a lawmans posse whereas two deputies get killed I wonder what kind of system R* has for the town if any.

It'd be pretty odd/ kinda funny if right after the mission you could turn around ride right back into town and no one even notices you. Especially since in the west they had really small towns where everyone knew eachother. It'd be pretty easy to spot someone like Arthur.

I think it'd be cool if the added something like they had after Michael and Trevor pissed off madrazo where they couldn't enter the city again for awhile or risk getting shot.

Maybe after a big robbery you can't go back to that town for a few in game weeks or the sheriffs recognize and immediately try to arrest you. I'd really like to see the wanted/bounty system expanded now especially since we seem to be outlaws this time. To have that constant fear of being hunted, that there could be a Marshall waiting behind every big oak tree.

yes, thats exactly what I meant ... I would like that it then affects the behavior of the people and the lawman. They're not supposed to shoot right away, that would be over the top. maybe they will try to arrest ... as you say. At least if you just stole something and didn´t kill a sheriff ... although you were hanged in the old days, just because you stole a horse.

What I also came to mind yesterday

I have always played Marston as the good guy and almost never violated the law. But once I stole a horse by mistake because my brother disturbed me while playing and I didn´t see that the saddle was black and not brown. So I tried to escape without killing a sheriff. And it actually happened to me that they shot my horse under my butt :panic: I think not intentionally, that was just a lucky strike. As bad as they shot otherwise. But it would be cool if they really tried to stop a fugitive in this way ...

Poor horse :( but I think that's pretty realistic.

In a not so distant future.. Would love to experience the story of a young Landon Ricketts (Maybe Red Dead 3).

I know Ross Hagen (Voice of Landon in RDR) passed away but, I feel like it would be a missed opportunity if we didn't know the full story of Mr.Ricketts.

More than like 3 save slots would be really nice. On RDR I have 1 save before landon ricketts dies, one save before John dies, and one save with jack. theres no room for anything else.

I finally got around to playing Rise of the Tomb Raider recently and it's got me wanting more "throwables" in RDR2. In Tomb Raider there's this cool little village with Chickens running around everywhere and at first I thought it was just your typical little detail until I realized you could pick them up and throw them.

The problem was that, apart from throwing them in the coup, there wasn't much to do with them. I think it'd be cool if in RDR2 there was all kinds of stuff like this you could pick up and throw. Rocks, bottles, anything that isn't nailed down can be used as a throwable weapon.

Throwing knives and Tomahawks would be cool too but something more dynamic like environmental weapons for moments where you feel like improvising would be awesome.

might as well let us swing it around too lol. in a bar. pick a chair up, beat someone with the chair, then throw it at him.

on a slightly unrelated note, I've always wanted to use a person as a weapon in a game. lol. how ridiculous would it be if you swept someone up by their ankles and then swung them around and hit other people with them. Ill save that hope for saints row 5 i guess. lol

It would be neat if we could store a banana in Arthur's holster instead of a gun and then whip it out for a quick potassium boost during a gunfight.

NO BATTLE ROYALE!

I saw LC's video about R* taking notice of the "Popularity" of this genre. This game mode is a like a meme; Only good until the normies get ahold of it, and smear their monkey sh*t all over it and ruin its freshness. People play it because it's a mainstream game. Not because it's fun. Because it's not. I've played Fornite. It sucks, and doesn't even make the effort you put in seem worth it. Please don't do this game mode. Stick with the current style you have worked with, along with the Free Roam mini games like Five Finger and Darts.

I mean...I'll still buy the game...but I won't play that game mode.

I hope they bring it to RDR2 online, R* actually touched up on this topic and said they might try this game mode but with there own twist as they don't want it to be like the other battle royale games but rather its own game mode with the basic elements to battle royale. Now i say they should add it because it wont hurt not to, for people that like it will hop on battle royale for people that don't will simply find something else to do in the vast open world or try another game mode. I personally don't get why people complain about this, its not even overused there are only two games that have used this mode and two games that come to mind when you say "battle royale" and thats PUBG and fortnite, are they very popular yes but not overused.

Pretty sure some form of Battle Royale would have been in the game even if PUBG and Fortnite weren't popular. It's pretty much just an every person for themselves death match where one kill ends it for you. I doubt we'll be parachuting out of a plane to start or even that we'll get a hundred people in it but the mode's inevitable.

Me personally, I probly won't play it, but if it brings people to the game and increases the longevity of Red Dead Online I'm all for it.

I'd like for Rockstar to carry over the shootdodge mechanic from Max Payne 3, especially since we'll probably never see another Max Payne game. I'd also like for Red Dead Redemption 2 to have Max Payne 3's more limited weapon wheel (only being able to carry to pistols and a long gun.)
