- An amazing story that could even surpass the greatness of the previous Red Dead game.

- Heavy Customisation

- Combat which feels fun and engaging and not clunky (I see it happen a lot these days)

- A PC VERSION (OMG, SERIOUSLY R*)

- To play as John Marston again

- Poker and other gambling mini games making a return (even in Multiplayer as a way to make/lose $)

- A dynamic, beautiful open world, with tons of room to explore (interiors also)

That's just about all that comes to mind, but if I had to think of EVERYTHING, I would be here all day.

Ability to climb trees and better climbing overall.

gold/silver mining

Grave robbing

Boats, sailing ships, rafts, gunboats, harbors, maybe even a Civil War era submarine

Improved weather including deep snow. Snow shoes?

Native American tribes

Big, slow, work horses like Clydesdales

Even better duel system

Improved cover system including lying prone

Treasure maps again and other stuff you have to search for.

Camera like the Snapmatic in GTAV. They had cameras back then but they were huge and B&W only. I'd like them to take a departure from realism here and just allow us to do it similar to GTA with some period type filters and full color. RDR was so beautiful it was a shame it had no camera.

Yeah, I really hope rockstar editor is in the game from the start.

I loved red dead redemption. Having to gather animal skins was good fun, challenging. However flower picking not so much.

1st on the wishlist: no flower picking.

2nd: one protagonist

Dedicated servers. After GTA V, this has to have them.

That level of stability is unacceptable, especially considering how beautiful this game is - last thing I want is everyone leaving at once and having unknown errors.

Rhino Tanks, Hydra, Lazer jet, heavy sniper, invisible arms, insurgent, karoooma, chrome, white wall tires with dollar signs, sticky bombs, combat rolling, Combat Mg's, wall glitches, bulletproofhelmets, miniguns, off radar, ghost organizations, no passive mode, god mode, cluster rpgs, $$$$$$$$$999999.9$$$$$$$$ Rp deathmatches.

Native clothing, hairstyles and facepaint alongside weapons, It wouldn't be a western game without it.

Dedicated servers.

A-freaking-men!

imagine going through that at night, someone chasing you, because you have a bounty. You realise the sun is rising, time is ticking. You hear the horse steps getting closer...and closer.

You get off the horse and fire at him, a battle takes place between you and him. You can't see him clearly though, due to the night. So you make a run for town, hoping he loses your trail.

But the bounty hunter isn't the only thing to be worried about, There's animals now. You check the map in panic, you get a message

"Rockstar games services are unavailable"

The guy who wrote this is f*cking hilarious...I busted out laughing and I'm still chuckling. Oh boy, lmaooo..

I don't have many wishes for this new game, but I do have a few ideas that I've thought of in the past and this is the perfect time to share.

My biggest wish is that this game had a bit of a survival aspect to it. Not an all-out survival game, but with a reason to hunt to eat or find water sources. I would love to be able to survive off the land. Imagine early morning in the wilderness, getting on the horse and going down to the nearest river to get a drink of water. As day progresses, you hunt and cook food over a campfire that can be lit by gathering wood. Rather than always being hungry or thirsty, which could be annoying to some players, perhaps it could be implemented in a different way. For instance, hunting and eating food could give the character a 25%-50% health bonus, and stopping at a natural water source for a drink of water would give the player a stamina bonus. The bonuses could last for about 8-12 in-game hours, so you have time to play and use the bonus, but you would eventually have a reason to hunt again.

Survival also goes along with my second wish. I want more to do in the world once the game is complete, and that can be accomplished in many ways. I ran out of things to do quicker than I would've liked in RDR. I did a lot of riding and exploring, but eventually I realized I was no longer satisfied by just doing that. What could be done to add more to the game? Well, I really liked near the end of RDR when you're working on the ranch. As we know, it didn't last long and beyond the main story, you couldn't do any other work, but I saw real potential in that sort of thing. Farming could implemented, maybe as a way to feed a small community in turn for a nice safehouse (once enough farm work is done, the player owns the safehouse and would have the option to farm or not farm). I also think the buying and selling feature could be worked on a little bit. I would like there to be more things that you have to repeatedly buy over time, so you always have a reason to earn money. Money could be earned so quickly in RDR that it wasn't long before you had more money that you'd ever need, which took away the satisfaction of hunting. Also adding purchasing features like clothing and haircuts would be nice, with different clothing benefiting the character in different ways. I want money to be an important asset that is harder to come by, so you have to work a bit to earn everything you buy. That's only a small sample of things that could help the game post-story.

My last wish is that they implement much of what they put in Redemption. Gang territories, random encounters, activities, and jobs. I want a unique storyline that keeps players interested and excited to play through the story. I want to feel like the character is a good guy, even if he's not necessarily good. RDR really put you in an environment where you wanted to be friendly to passersby, and I thought that was a great thing. You always had the option to go on rampages, but you were never lead to do that. I want peds to exist as specific people that you see frequently, not randomly generated. They really made a great game with Redemption, and if they continue with what they started, Redemption 2 will be game of the year.

I just have one wish:

That Rockstar does not go the created character path with its protagonist

Created characters games often have weaker narratives overall compared to defined set protagonists

I just want Rockstar to stick at what it does best

Don't force weapons on me, Rockstar. You did good with the gun locker for GTAO (too bad it costs a fortune) I don't want to walk around with a big shotgun on my back like in RDR. I'm a gunslinger, a single revolver is all I need.

And make the world feel more alive. People walking about doing things not just sitting around waiting for you to show up. We saw animals hunting each other, that's a step in the right direction.

World interaction. All of the stuff added in GTAO like emotes and stuff add a lot to immersion. If I could just walk around a town, sit down on a bench, or a porch, or even on the ground by a campfire, and just smoke a cigarette/cigar and take in the scenery, that would increase my enjoyment of the game tenfold.

The Time Ranger

The ability to store and discard weapons so the weapon wheel won't be so cluttered. In RDR the cattleman revolver and repeater carbine were just gathering dust.

Obviously weapon variety will be limited considering the game is set in a certain period but I'd like to see guns ranging from the up to date (for the time) to older guns, such as muskets. Revolvers being a mix of single action and double action would be cool. This could lead to balance issues but it think it could be a nice addition. Being able to find unique weapons more organically would be great too, not just having them appear in the gunsmiths as the story progresses.

Unique weapons, say you complete a bounty and the enemy drops his gun, it could be the same as your's but could have a unique design, a different colour, maybe it has engraving or a decal. For example Clint Eastwood's revolver in the Man With no Name trilogy had a snake design on the grips. Why not have gunsmiths who can modify your weapons, appearence and performance. Turn a shotgun into a sawnoff, longer barrel on a revolver or vice versa. This could give usage to a weapon that was once relegated to the back of the weapon wheel. For example the repeater carbine from RDR, what if you could reduce the barrel length, make it lighter, quicker to draw and fire. It has a new use.

Clothing consists of not just outfits, the ability to buy seperate articles of clothing to mix and match. Maybe incorporate hunting into it, you hunt a bear, you can create clothing out of it. Fur coat, snakeskin boots etc.

A better melee system. Rockstar have proven they can do decent hand to hand combat in San Andreas and Gta IV. In RDR it was basic and enemies kept getting up for more, if this could be improved on that would be great.

Original Light

  • Ability to swim.

Expanding upon hunting, including legendary animals and requiring clean shots (similar to GTA V) to add to the challenge of hunting.

No weapon attachments, due to the fact that this would be unrealistic in the 1800's. I'd rather see weapon skill levels, similar to GTA San Andreas, where you increase your skill with a weapon over time (based on shot accuracy and kills).

Introducing stealth mechanics, similar to GTA V. This would especially prove interesting in bounty hunting, since it would allow another plan of approach (allowing players to choose guns blazing, or silent stealth).

Karma system, similar to RDR. Additionally, respective rewards for each progressive karma level, whether it's negative or positive.

Ability to purchase properties, such as safehouses, businesses, and completing missions for those respective businesses to earn income. I think this would work well in RDR2, especially if it's similar to GTA V in terms of implementation.

I'm gonna need a place to hold all of my horses and such... Let's hope that there will be HUGE places you can own, with maybe a field, which would serve as the space to hold your mountable animals...

Edit: I say "field" because it would allow for a large number of animals to be stored (unlike how GTAO's 10 car garage system works).

My wishlist for RDR2:

- f*cking release it on PC

Even though I'm not a PC player, I totally agree with you.

I'm hoping that since they have Had experience with this type of game, thanks to RDR1, that they actually made a PC version. If the game looks as good as it does in the trailer, then I will love to see what mod's the PC players come up with for this game.

Another thing that I'm wishing and hoping for is that they make separate lobbies in online like they did with RDR1. I want the Hardcore Lobby, the Auto-Aim Lobby, and the Friendly Fire Off lobby. I don't want the type of online that GTAV has. If they do add a Hardcore Lobby, I want it to be just like how RDR1's was.

Edit: I forgot to mention but I would love to see trains in RDR2's online. They weren't in RDR1's online.

This makes zero sense in relation to RDR2. What physics are you referring to? RDR has no vehicles and the euphoria animations for characters in it far surpass GTA IV. We get it you like GTA IV vehicle physics over V. This is not a GTAV forum, must every gripe and dislike over that game be constantly channeled into every RDR discussion as well? It is in nearly every thread here and is becoming a real nuisance.

I'm a simple man.

No multiple main characters and a mission scructure which doesn't get repetitive in between the big set piece missions and i'll be happy.

You'd think the place was called GTAForums.

Yeah though, really - it's a just a side effect of having a section dedicated to Red Dead in a forum otherwise dedicated to GTA games. Also, the problems and flaws in the latest GTAs are relevant as well. People in the GTA section are looking to Red Dead to think of what effect it will have on that game, and at the graphics to see what they can expect for the next GTA, how much the consoles have left in them, etc.

Anyway, for another wish, don't have microtransactions.

Specially this. Natives should be a pain if you aren't on good terms with them (or by default, if you can't interact further with them). Fire arrows, axes, totems, tipi tents and that sh*t. The wild west, definitively. I understand R* scrapping this in a game set in 1911, but the new game should include some vibes from the pioneer days.

Exactly. Bringing up GTAV is totally relevant.

R* North is playing a huge role in crafting this game so its completely okay to be nervous if you were not a fan of GTAV

Yeah, for Online, I'd like it if you could make a native physical appearance. Much appreciated.

Speaking of RDR Online, I pray to the sun that the character creation isnt the pile of sh*t it is currently... No parents please...just African American, Native American, Mixed, or Caucasian or Asian, etc....

I agree man, bow and arrows, traditional clothing, etc needs to be in this upcoming game. Maybe because I minor in Indigenous studies I like the prospect, but eh.

Maybe he's weary of the single player and how R* handled that component compared to Online. In my honest opinion, I don't know why everyone is infatuated with singleplayer (Maybe because I haven't touched it), obviously the developers are going to pay attention, as the two games are different in that regard. GTA5= Hustle and bustle while RDR is much much slower, RDR2 Online will also be much slower due to the time period, which means plenty of time for a great narrative.

Tbh theres not much I'd wish for apart from a strong single player mode and story with engaging, interesting missions akin to the last Red Dead. It's not a GTA game so things like empire building and businesses etc. would be pretty limited because of the time period.

A few things however...

Dual wielding pistol ability (This has more or less been confirmed IMO)

Gang recruitment system

Immersive, breathing and living open world (The last Red Dead had one of the most immersive open worlds I've seen, possibly the best so far)

Realistic gore
