Aqua
Hey, Yes I know it's in the wrong section but I have no idea where to post this so i'm just gonna post it in here and let the mods move as appropriate. My PS4 controller the other day was failing to charge and to hold it's charge so I went out and spent £50 on a new controller and a charging wire, now only one week later my new controller is doing the exact same thing as the old one, failing to charge and hold it's charge... Any ideas or solutions to this problem? Thanks.
Furry_Monkey
If you've got a new controller and new USB cable then the problem is most likely the charging source, which you don't mention. What are you plugging into to charge? And you should try a few different cables as well, just to be sure.

Yeah, I'm plugging them into the front USB ports on the PS4, I've also tried two charging cables... Gonna try a different charging source then report back. Mr_Zombly
I thought I had this problem, for a whole day I had to have it plugged in while playing, it would die if I took it out, turns out I hadn't pushed the cable all the way inside the ps4 lol, not too sure what it could be. Maybe try charging it with something else other than ps4 whilst not playing.
whywontyoulisten
Why would you spend £50 on a new controller before asking here? Have you tried charging from your PC's USB ports?
NFSGalaxy
The ps4 controller has terrible battery life as is. I get maybe 1 to 3 hours for a "full charge"

Just charged my two controllers on my PC USB ports for about 20 mins, my old controller wasn't charging but my new controller was, (well the light came on) Just plugged it into the PS4 and it immediately said the battery level was getting low... Check in the settings to make sure you didn't turn anything off, If i remember correctly there is an option to turn off the charging feature on PS4

?!=+_-
I'm having this same problem, so have to keep it plugged in. Thought maybe the battery became disconnected but haven't opened it yet.

There's an option to turn off power to the USB ports when the console is in rest mode, but not when it's on. Amy Vinewood

Edit: just tried charging my phone with my PS4 controller charger, didn't charge my phone at all. Must be the cable, but that cable is brand new. A bit odd.
