GTA V and Xbox One elite controller

Just got my new elite controller after a long time debating it - anyone care to share how they've got theirs configured for GTA?

It seems that the hair trigger part isn't accepted by the game, which is a bit of a shame, but I'm keen to know if anyone is using the paddles , how they might help in this game etc.

Love mine, cant even play with regular controller anymore. Dont really like paddles though and it took awhile for me to get comfortable with them. Still better for me then the other GTA V running and shooting options. By that I mean either CLAW or Push RT halfway or or use one of the FPS settings.

I only use 1 paddle on each side (short upper ones).

Left paddle for running (A)

Right paddle for zoom (Dpad UP)

Rest is standard.

You'll love it! I don't actually use the paddles for GTA as I don't find it necessary but you'll find what works best for you!

(I use the paddles for jump/sliding in COD or changing gears in racing games mainly)

Love mine i use some of the paddles for gta when sniping and moving around fast. I love that if your in a ground war you can put hair triggers in seconds, sucks when you try to drive though

Only use mine for driving and flying.

All combat (on foot / vehicle) is done with mouse and keyboard.

I use a normal controller as I use Standard FPS2 controls but the paddles come in handy when you play Standard controls as it will let you run and shoot in assisted aim. Make one of the paddles the run button and thats all thats really necessary, whenever you aim or shoot just hold the paddle corresponding to A. Another tip would be setting a paddle to Up on the D Pad as it wil make heavy sniping so much easier.

Took the paddles off, left the buttons as is default. 2 x short sticks (as normal controller)

I did try with paddles for up and down on the D-Pad to zoom with the sniper but it wasn't working for me at all. In fact, the elite controller/paddles in general was a bit of a waste to be honest, I don't use it any differently to my original (the plus side is it's build quality seems much better, shame the sticks can come off by accident on occasion which doesn't help matters).

grats to your controller, i had several setups with it already and i have found the following to be gainful:

-long paddles got the triggers (LT/RT), but switched. basically i removed the right paddle with the brakes cause i dont need really need it, and now i can just let go the right hand from the controller because the throttle is also on the left ringfinger.

having the A button for sprinting on the paddle is very nice, u can run and look around, but i changed that after a while for the my final setup; simply have the R3/L3(Stickbuttons) on the little paddles. great for looking back, great for fast switching between FPV and 3RD in the buzzard. great for easy honking.

what i dislike is that i somehow could not have an unassigned paddle and use it as a push2talk button, simply wouldnt work if the paddle is not assigned to other buttons.

i also remove paddles if not needed, right now i don't honk so often, but i fly alot. so i have a big left addle for the RT and the small right paddle for the Right Stick Button (look back, fast swap view)

changing the input behavior of the sticks via da diagram did nothing satisfying for me.

EDIT: oh and on windows7 u might want to get rid of the xbox elite driver and the xbox one driver so u are sure to use the xbox 360 driver because if not your game might crash regulary

no shirt, but it comes with a superdeluxe dual power kitchen mixer, a wash...

Rest is standard.

i am thinking about changing left small paddle from honking to szooming, cause thats annyoing when u wanna move and zoom.

Thanks everyone, some really great tips in here - will try some ideas out tonight when I get on (even if it is in a session on my own like it has been far too often since the update!)

Forgot to mention in my original post, when I bought the controller in a Game shop last week, they threw in Halo 5 Guardians for free - apparently that's a deal that they can do at the moment so if you're thinking about getting one now might be a good time to go in and see if they're still doing that offer.

Got one...but i removed the paddles...besides the fact they are prone to falling off and i just dont see a use for them in gta.

Coming from a ps3 controller...and after a few changements...i like the feel of this one more though

In what ways is this controller better than the regular Xbox One controller ? I use that controller and its perfect, the size, weight, thumbsticks...

Right stick delay

No triggers (jesus my brain freaks out when they're there. Gonna take a while to get used to).

Annoys the sh*t out of me, and is standard dumbass MS, that the hair trigger switches don't give you 0/100% pull.

It's worth twice the price of a standard controller but not 3 times.

I found a way to get the hair trigger to work - you have to set the dead zone to 50% in the app, that way it registers as a 100% pull in the game even though you are only goin half the normal distance when you pull it.

Default. Never use the back buttons. Back buttons are a pain in the ass. Just setting the controller down will cause your guy to randomly jump out of helicopters.

Just leave it at default controls and enjoy the comfortable grip. Also, get a keyboard attachment if you're sitting far away from your keyboard. Makes typing to players/friends much easier.
