A suggestion for a fairer change to CEO work and selling.

So we all know we stand the chance of working for a very long time and spending a considerable amount of money simply to lose it all on the final sale. This is frustrating and considering that this is a game and the addition of players being able to lose all that they have spent hours working for is new to the game I think that one minor but important change would suit the new system better.

It would simply be that the final shipment that players are trying to sell would be able to have some form of protection. This could come in any number of forms. Such as,

- Players could have an elongated time off the global radar or Lesters service could work for two minutes instead on the usual one on CEO final work.

- Players would be able to pay an insurance premium on the ggods so that if it were destroyed they would have the entire stock returned to their warehouse so that they could try to sell again. This would allow for some loss but not the gigantic losses that happen now.

- Players could employ a new ability where they send out several fake signals to the global radar so that any player attempting to hunt them would have to do more work themselves rather than just homing in on the one signal and destroying everything. This would create tension on both sides and is fairer as the system now makes on party do masses of workonly for another, as yet uninvolved party) destroy all of that work in seconds and then move on.

-Players who destroy cargo for sale would then have a new type of bounty placed on them automatically. This bounty would not be removed once the player is killed but would last for a time limit dependant on how much the cargo they destroyed was worth. During this timed bounty period every time the player is killed they would lose $5000 and the player who killed them would receive it. If they managed to survive the bounty with zero deaths they would earn a percentage of the cargos worth that they originally destroyed as reward. In this mode the bounties time limit would not run dwn in private or invite only lobbies.

These are some ideas that would make the final sale a sight fairer towards the players who runs the risk of losing hundreds of thousands to a random player after hours of work. It would also introduce tense new elements to the CEO work that would expand play.

Some good suggestions, especially the one about "insurance". Pay 50k to insure your shipment, but lose that 50k (obviously) if all goes well. I like that.

I've got some tips of my own:

> Play in free-aim, not assisted-aim lobbies. This cuts down on the griefers considerably.

> Switch lobbies when the time comes to sell your goods, until you find a lobby with no players, or just a few players.

> Contact friends online and ask for some help/protection, just to keep any other players at bay.

> Sell at around 15k per crate - the midway point. You only need to accumulate about 15 crates, and the risk is quite low.

I made about 600-700k last night, AND spent time with my other friends in a race playlist, which I usually don't have time for. The update has given us some breathing room.

Final Quake

It's beyond daft. You pay for blowing up vehicles, you get threatened about bad sport but it's okay to destroy someones shipment. Which deals a bigger blow than just having your vehicle blown up.

Not sure getting insurance on stolen jewels, illegal ivory, counterfeit cash, drugs, etc., should be a thing. I'm good with some of the other suggestions, though I find myself often in public lobbies by myself, and I use those opportunities to work on filling my warehouses and the one sale I've made so far.

Find a lobby with only 1-2 people and make sure you all agree to truce before you deliver. Hire one or two assistants to act as protection/deter anyone from messing with you. Don't do super huge runs. 35 or 45 crates at a time is plenty.

Simple, get better.. CEO pick ups and sales are np.. if you don't have friends to back you up in a bigger lobby.. Don't sell find, new session where there are less, or even better a lobby where there is a mutual understanding among the ceo's in the room. Believe or not the mentality of everyone cool to do their own work in this lobby exists far more than I ever expected it to. Also you don't always need to collect all 3 individual crates if you are running solo. I literally always buy 3 crates, hoping for them to all be in one vehicle. If not. I take one deliver, go grab the other if able, and blow the 3rd up to quickly save time, then start another up at one of my other warehouses. Kids act like this sh*t is the hardest thing alive in GTAO.. It's real basic, just like the heists.. Kids just over complicate it for themselves (just like the countdown for the pac)..

This thread wasn't intended as a tips threads but thanks anyway. I know how to play. I'm simply saying that rather than have to make truces and then trust a stranger with hundreds of thouands worth or wait until you get an empty lobby or any of the above, that there could be a couple of simple changes tht make everything we need to do workable and fairer in public lobbies.

There are a number of people like me that don't want this and understand why Rock Star didn't set it up this way. I guess we won't convince some of you that they wanted a new mode and designed it this way on purpose. What you suggest would be easy and boring as hell. No thank you.

I think a lot of people do indeed get that intention, but the issue is that it just doesn't not consistently work that way in practice. At current, PvP free roam has too much of a problem with explosive-based weapons (jets included as part of this) combined with the always-on radar for CEO stuff to really work properly. That's not to say it never works, but it's simply way too easy for players to find and destroy shipments as it currently stands when compared with the difficulty in delivering them.

You don't think rockstar put all of those variables into consideration when creating this update ? Rockstar dosent care people want to play this update in private lobbies plain and simple. It works perfectly fine because this is what rockstar envisioned and intended when creating this update.

...You can steal cars off the street and insure them, the logic of this game is very thin.

I think this is a good idea actualy.

What I suggest is pretty much what the majority of this forum wants, either this or nerf the jets, if it's boring to you then that's your problem and not ours.

And far as I know, you fight cops and others NPCs while moving cargo, so it's not entirely boring.

Really? Have you even watched their stream video? They got their sh*t blown to kingdom come by jets everywhere, they could only do anything when the lobby -conveniently- got split.

Currently the odds are incredibly stacked AGAINST the CEOs, because they just to get blown up once to lose their cash, and any moron in passive mode can sneak into the CEOs "safe zone" snap out of passive mode and blown the cargo.

I can see R* doing something about it, because as it stands, people are abusing kick feature or intentionally spliting the lobbies JUST to do CEO work, this just shows the there is a problem with the feature.

I'm just wondering how long it will take for R* to take a hint, I mean they took two years to patch animals calling the police in single player...

Fixed ;)

it's a matter of choice. Even if invite only was allowed I personally would still play in public sessions since I like a bigger challenge sometimes. Others may like just facing off against npcs, IMO they should have that choice. If you don't want to play in invite only then it would be your choice to play in public sessions.

Why hinder players from enjoying it their way? Heists and missions are purely co-op, why aren't those boring as hell?

Don't get me wrong, I like doing CEO stuff in public lobbies, I just don't impose my opinion on others or claim there's only one way to play. Just saying we should all have the choice to play with the people we enjoy playing with, if that requires a closed session then it's not hurting anyone to allow that.

I like the fake signals idea but everything else is silly. The idea about a bounty being placed on a player that makes them lose five thousand everytime they get killed is absurdly ridiculous. Why should a player be punished so severely for playing the game as intended?

Me thinks your crates have been destroyed one too many times and now the butt hurt has set in.

This would make things 1000x more interesting, instead of paying for your goods, you just steal it, like Trevor does in SP.

In fact, it would make much more sense for players to go after and steal the cargo instead of blowing it up for measily 2k...

it would definitely be interesting and I wanted to steal crates as well but it would be much harder to influence people to be associates if they could just wait for CEOs to spawn crates to steal. It would also deter organizations from making truces or pacts which has turned out pretty interesting IMO.

I kinda understand why they chose not to let us steal crates even though that makes crates worthless to me since I refuse to blow up crates, trucks, boats etc. simply to piss off CEOs.

As soon as the update released my plan was to just steal crates and sell them, once I jumped on my first crate and nothing happened I just walked away, I ain't doing R*s dirty work of making players money vanish into thin air, F that.

I have started to kinda agree here. I've run buys and sells in empty lobbies for the week it's been out. It lasted a week before my crew and I found it boring as hell buying stock with no excitement. On the flip side, GTA freeroam sessions are very unpredictable and often contain a lot of trolls in jets. I'm all for fair PvP but a hydra or savage with their explosive bullets vs a van? Sure, you can have associates to back you up but even a buzzard is easily taken out by a jet who is off the radar.

Remove explosives from freeroam, or CEO populated freeroam or just something to help against the cancer that is the jet troll and sure, I welcome that. Until then, well I expect I'll stop playing these buy/sell jobs or only do them when nobody else is around to play other game modes.

just pull the cable for a few seconds, no magic needed.

Yes, i also like the intension to bring people together, also rockstar now has a good reason to keep the game cleaner from modders.

Selling a 2 million deal in a public session is of course just plain stupid. but those ~200k sells are worth it i guess, if a heist goes wrong u also wasted a good amount of time for not getting that 200k.

if u need the money do it solo, if u like the free roam action than you are satisfied already and are busy having fun. if u dislike jets, thats totally understandable, but u don't really need an invite only session for CEO crate collecting. u need a full lobby with loads of CEO's so your crate is just one in a dozen.

and most players attacking you are not deadly griefers but just gamers like you, doing what CEO is all about.

I'd be totally okay if they made the cooldown longer in between cargo purchases in Invite Only/Crew Sessions since "limited access" or something. Though selling limitations would be another thing to balance since the vast majority only sell big shipments in lobbies with as few people as possible.

tfw half the time I'm in a public lobby everyone drops out

Soon as I get good internet back later this month, I'm gonna just goof around with people present, and when I'm all on my lonesome, make bank.

I'm honestly most interested in the weapon locker, I have frankly enough money for all my needs. I have like 20 reserve T20's modified in garages to sell.

All these CEO whinging threads should really be in the Bitch and Moan thread or maybe kept to the numerous other threads about peoples unhappiness with the way Rockstar designed the game mode.

Or maybe actually email Rockstar?, because going over and over it here isnt going to change anything.

no...

we shall take the ones that are absolutely in need of an invite only session to our sides and show them that its all not that bad. convince them to try it again, to adapt to the new situation and to have a little more faith.

if you cannot rely on your teammates for CEO work then how did u do heists and how much money did u not get because of others in heists? the only difference is that u believe its already earned, because u can see the f*cking numbers in your warehouse, but the heist is also only finished when you finish it.

so next time your cargo gets destroyed, don't cry out loud in the chat, it will only be more tempting for the others. try to be smart, try not to get into situation u cannot win. when things go right, its all about a little 30 seconds window in which you are in danger because your cargo is all over the map, but before and after? you are just a player like all the others like before the update ;)
