CEOs: When you see others in Session...

  1. 1. How do you generally deal with other CEOs in Freemode?

    • Peaceful - no need to fight, we're all just trying to make a dollar.

    • Cautious / Defensive - keep those hands where we can see them or there will be consequences.

    • Aggressive - It's WAR, baby! It's either them or me... and it ain't gonna be me.

Interesting thread.

Im defiantly on the defensive-keeping my eyes peeled approach. I did not play the update yet cause my ps4 just came back from repairs and im updating as we speak, but i also like running lobbies with my friends. I make it pretty clear that my crew is running the lobby. I love getting the whole lobby to interact and cause ruckus. (That's winning vip work, free roam challanges, and anyone who wants 2 have a nice gunfight).

I wouldn't be a bonehead and start ruining someones ceo work though. But if I had beef with a ceo prior when i join and they start to do ceo work knowing im in there it's his/her fault if their stuff gets destroyed by me. Every drug/product gets sold by me. That's the point of being a CEO to run sh*t... ;)

I've never received so many in-game messages than since the DLC drops. And it's always something like "you don't bother me, I don't bother you, deal?"

I quite like the harmony, one of the reasons I played in invite only 90% of the time was the pointless killing. If there were more peaceful lobbies that'd be great.

Bandersnatch

If i am on my own i see whats going on first if there no killing i will stay and do my own thing , i have been in a few mellow chilled out lobby's, which makes a good change

If i see stuff like this out side my office window i move on to another lobby.....

I never attack other CEO's in peaceful session, but when some randoms tried to disturb, or disturbed my works, I call a jets to grief, set a bounty to the guy, call a mugger, and call mercenaries.

For me it's a mix of peaceful and cautious.

I'm more lenient than the description, I guess you could say for me it's more "keep to yourself and I'll keep to myself" but unlike most people I'll come within a closer proximity. It all depends on your status, if you're a CEO I'll drive right by you because I know you're on the same boat as me but if you're not in an organisation I'll avoid you a bit more but if you don't seem to be a threat I'll treat you as if you're a fellow CEO. However I'm not fully peaceful, if I hear gunshots or police sirens nearby I'll be more alert. It's hard to explain really, I hate being inbetween things .

However like most. If you provoke me you'll wish you never did.

Well to start off im only playing in a less then 8 people lobby or else im switching. Usually there are 2-3 organisations and some randoms. I dont recall ever being attacked by a CEO. One associate did try to kill me with his buzzard but he was not a friend of that CEO since he was flying all over the map.

My other 2 encounters were randoms, a lvl 8 tried to attack my van while I was driving to my warehouse.(he died from proxy mine) And a lvl 3 orso tried to attack my yacht while doing piracy prevention lol.(sniped him 4 times before he drove off)

As stated above Im quite sure it's mostly silly lowranks who have no idea who or what they r attacking as I am a lvl 647.

@edit: When im in a lobby with 1 more CEO and nothing else I allways text the person im friendly and wont shoot. They allways texted back that they r friendly also or to votekick anyone else joining xD

Either myself or them will text one another and declare a peace treaty. Failure to stay out of each others way will result in either organisation attacking.

I don't attack anyone unless they chase my cargo. I prefer to be in a buzzard and will defend my guys who are making deliveries.

One thing I've noticed though, some players start wars with other organizations and then join yours. It's hard to know sometimes if the person you go to hire has pissed off the entire lobby. This is a pain because I get people relentlessly going after all my goods. I could take the time to research each players activity, but I just take the risk.

Usually when I am VIP/CEO or Bodyguard/Associate, I announce on text chat that whatever team color I am is friendly until given a reason. 9/10 times that ends up with most other groups agreeing.

I imagine it's not as easy in Xbox One/PS4 because of the lack of text chat.

I really wish they'd add a session-wide text chat on consoles. It'd make looking for associates/bosses, setting up truces, etc so much easier. Yeah I could turn voice chat on but I don't think anyone here needs to be told why I have it off in the first place and prefer to keep it limited to Friends/Crew/Teammates

I haven't really had any problems with other CEO's attacking me, and certainly not vice versa. It has mostly been low level randoms who have been hostile while I was trying to make deliveries to a warehouse. Last one even stole an NPC vehicle, got a bounty for it, and tried to drive off the bridge that goes from the east LSC to Mission Row. It exploded on impact..then after respawning I killed him a second time and claimed that bounty.

If I'm planning on doing 'crate stuff', I mind my own business. Otherwise I just kill on sight.

I went on a much needed killing spree in my Buzzard earlier and killed a few CEOs'. Didn't go near any crates though.

I've only had to fight one other crew at any point and that was because they chased down a shipment of mine and tried to take them out.

Sniped them out of their limo and wiped the floor with them until they left the area, then their CEO disbanded the crew by leaving and the others in-fought until eventually leaving of their own accord.

I ain't looking for a tussle, especially if there's no benefit to me doing so besides padding my useless K/D, but if you're going to come at me in a turreted limo, I'm going to make sure you don't do it again.

Menstrual Deranged

You will never find me messing with another player's CEO work unless they mess with me first. I personally don't enjoy the method of gameplay where you mess up someone's hard-earned game progress like that. If I have a lot of friends or crew mates on, I just join their session and everything is fine. If I have to be in with a lot of randoms, I let them know I'm friendly and hope for the best. If I see a lot of killing going on I just hop sessions until I find one populated by people who share the same sentiment.

I instantly kick anyone who's not a CEO in my solo public session. I blame Rockstar for me kicking them out because they created this paranoia of jets.

When I join a session with other CEOs, they instantly text me like what's seen in the OP and it's all dandy.

The game certainly has become a little more diplomatic when multiple CEOs are in the same lobby. Personally I normally play with groups that establish a truce or pact with the other groups in the lobby, or at least try to. I like listening to the negotiations as I quietly do my thing, hearing the crew leaders talk about whether their truce includes mutual pacts before a jet even shows up is awesome to me. It's even better when a griefer shows up and thinks they're going to mess with one player then end up surrounded by half the lobby until they leave with their tail between their legs.

Makes me wonder if we would be this civil if we could actually steal each others crates. I highly doubt it.

Do people fly at a high altitude when they transport goods?

not me, I fly a Buzzard real low (right over the trees & poles) so if i get targeted I can lose the lock-on by putting obstacles between me and the launcher. A little higher when the bird is wounded and starts choking. Not sure it's the best method but it's fun, fast and helps avoid being targeted imo.

^I'm so low I'm almost bumping into traffic at times.

That Buzzard is small enough to really get down out of most people's sight.

Cautious, followed up with a in-game message "peaceful?"

I don't want to hop lobbies, lagswitch a lobby or resort to kicking. I want it clearly and directly between both CEOs we are respecting each other's space and it's in both of our interests to get on with it peacefully.

Cheers.

yea it's really nice on wider streets how we can fit the body of the helo between the street lights with the prop on top. I love making passengers on the side benches feel like they're about to come face to face with each traffic light at 200km/h. Especially love to hear them go "eeee-eee-eeeeeh!" like a bunch of happy dolphins :)

I don't know. It doesn't seem necessary to avoid people or text that I'm peaceful. I don't exactly leave my office unless I need to buy some armor and ammo before joining heists.

i don't message anyone and i keep to myself. I did attack somebody's delivery when the DLC 1st came out and when i got 2000 i felt bad, I wont attack anybody's cargo shipment or delivery. The money and stress it causes others SO NOT WORTH IT! I have helped out other VIP that were under attack, only to get shot down. Lol you cant trust anyone so i understand why they did it, so I just move along.

Usually send out a hydra scout to circle around the potential threats while CEO organizes the buy/sell. And if appear to head towards the crates, they are taken out by the hydra with no hesitation

I'm extremely cautious...to the point of being paranoid. And if my cargo gets destroyed, I'll typically find another session. I'm not going to lie though. I love the adrenaline from being chased by another player. Having something to lose makes it much more thrilling, and successfully surviving all the more sweeter.

My thoughts exactly bro lol.

I'd enjoy the thrill of the chase if they actually chased with a gun instead of holding a sticky

Honestly, at this point, I'm so tired of the PvP that I don't bother f*cking with someone unless they leave themselves open. If you attack me once, then f*ck off, okay. Forgive and forget. I miiight snag a Hydra and wait for you to forget.

Lately, though, everything has been so lame. If someone isn't camping waiting for me to spawn in out of warehouse/etc, or riding around in an armored vehicle or hydra, they're generally probably only interested in their thing.

I voted that I'm cautious, but, really, if I wanted to DM, I'd load up a DM or go play CoD.

Oh, but if I'm "hired" to do a job, I'll f*ckin do it. Consider those crates protected, bawss.

I recently found a cheap keyboard at Goodwill to hook to my XB1, so sending text messages to other people is now something I do a lot more of. Especially important to make my intentions clear since I am usually flying around in a Hydra, although I've noticed this tends to make a lot of randoms quickly leave on their own when they see the jet icon in a small lobby.

If there is a spot in our group, I like to invite random players in; a lot of people just want to experience the content, and will happily play along despite the pay being rather lackluster.

I'm a mind your own business type, like last night obese testing out the CEO jobs and set Headhunter. I went to my first target and killed by another player, I didn't go after them for revenge, I can't be bothered, it happened again. I then moved to another target, but could see on the map 2 other players camping near, so I give up.
