Crates, why are people destroying them.

I'm honestly curious why anyone is going after crates. I have been in a dozen sessions without being targeted at all during my crate pick ups by players. However once a player destroyed one of my crates (one of the split up ones) and then just today a player spent several minutes fervently chasing me before ultimately blowing up my van with 3 Crates in it. Why? I'm really curious, because you don't get anything for doing it. It's like 2,000 bucks which as we all know is chump change but you cause grief for the player who just spent up to 18,000 to start that mission. I personally have decided to never attack Crates(and I tell ally associates not to, and it seems the majority of players don't, assumed because they know what goes into it. Now if someone starts a global CEO mission hell yeah go after them. The reward often times is 10 or 20 thousand. It also makes it more fun than just plainly driving the trailer to its destination or whatever.

Personally I'd agree that we all be friendly and make a pact to not attack crates.

For the same reason I saw a player called Trolling12345... just to troll and kill other players for fun.

There's no point sending messages asking why, for only 2k? They're doing it to mess with your sh*t, nothing more.

EDIT: and because they're assholes.

All in all, its GTA and being an a*shole in it doesn't even scratch me morally.

I would destroy the crates for free but that 2K is the icing on top

I love hassling and killing other players, who doesn't from time to time?

But I leave crate collectors in peace as a sign of mutual respect. so they won't hassle me, I guess. What goes around comes around, brothers ;)

I destroy crates if the owner has been a douche to others and if I need Firework ammo.

Destroying Crates gives Fireworks.

My proudest moment has been costing a hydra spawnkiller 126,000$ by destroying their selling plane with a hydra. Felt poetic.

So after jet griefing, he then tried to sell his shipment in the same lobby? Are you serious?

Well done on that kill. Not only was he a jet griefer, but also an idiot.

How about this notion.....you play your way, let everyone else play theirs without owing you an explanation.

The entire purpose of the contraband system is to generate action in freemode and give you real multiplayer immersion.

That player trying to deny you from picking up that crate is EXACTLY the purpose of the new content. It is the same reason why you can shootdown players trying to win the upside down flying challenge rather than everyone be ghosted who participates....because THAT IS THE POINT OF GRAND THEFT AUTO.....MAYHEM, ROBBING, STEALING, KILLING, ETC

OLO! I put a proxy beside one guys crate while he was delivering the other one to his warehouse. Got him twice like that before i decided to blow it up.. and another time i put proxies at the turn-in to someones warehouse while they were delivering. much more rewarding (feeling) than using a jet.

It's a mechanic rockstar built into this new update. Yeah it sucks when it happens but it's totally accetable behavior because thats what rockstar wants, to have other players make it harder for you.

Cant-B-Faded

I joined a CEO for the first time yesterday and the third guy in the organization was actually trying to kill me and the CEO while we were doing a pickup. Had a jet, crashed it, chased us around.

There's no rhyme or reason, man.

Because some people are so miserable that they have nothing else to do in their life other than ruining people's fun.

and others are so miserable that playing a system the way it is intended to be played and having to defend themselves....win or lose....is considered "ruining fun"......fun for these miserable sacks is grinding money is a system that is not even close to being a good way to earn money....mathematically speaking.

If the money aspect of the contraband system factors into your "fun factor" at all then you are missing the entire point of the new content.

No Use For A Name

Well, I finally destroyed another organization's crates. This is the first time in a year of owning a Hydra that I killed more than one person during a session.

I was minding my own business doing Headhunter. A bounty was in the vicinity of one of the targets. I messaged him "not hostile," hoping he would lay off. Instead, he responded "LOL" and started tailing the target. One of his associates decided to join in and one of em took out my jet, then continued to kill me as I was stuck near the beach by Zancudo. They continued after the VIP work was over, killing me 4-5 times before I could end VIP and go into passive. Then his other douche buddy also texts me "LOL"

Now I'm pissed. I responded to both "It's not about the first laugh, it's about the last"

Fetched my Hydra from Paleto and went after em. I put a bounty on the other guy, went off radar and killed them both down by Vespucci. Figured they learned their lesson and went about my way, until the CEO shot me down with his Buzzard. One of the others sniped me after I respawned

Now I'm REALLY pissed. Fetched my Hydra in passive, flew to an unreachable altitude, set bounties on all 3, off radar...then I went ballistic.

I announced to everyone in session "I'm the guy in the Hydra. I'm not hostile unless you have a pink icon. If you attack me, I'll attack you." I spent the next 20 minutes following this organization around slaughtering them. Set bounty, collect bounty, repeat. I followed them to their office and killed them. I killed them as they were trying to collect crates. I killed them as they were trying to deliver them. I set proxies at the entrance to their warehouse and on the roof of Maze. I left them alone for long enough to collect the crates, just to kill them as they were getting close to the warehouse. Never once went into passive. Probably killed them about 30 times. They killed me 0.

Once I got bored, I texted both of them "LOLOLOLOLOL" and switched sessions

Because the satisfaction of being a dick and blowing up someone's crate feels great. However I don't bother now since I'd rather make money than waste my time destroying crates.

Honestly I would have done the same thing to do you. Anyone who wastes time trying to conduct diplomacy with strangers thru the phone text messages so that they can skate by content uncontested, gets LOL'd and shot.

There was no "lesson" to be learned, they were doing exactly what they were supposed to be doing, and your response should be either fight or flight. To be honest you acted like a little bitch with all the messaging ans passive moding and setting bounties for yourself. Just play the game and try not to take everything so personal. It is a video game after all.

I have never destroyed a create because I'm not a moron, although I do enjoy some sniping from time to time and that's about it.

It is amazing this has to be explained to these twits.

The one missing the point is you.

Killing is about having fun and dominating other players, and the only thing it really hurts is their pride. But this new method has a direct financial impact, and the GTA community needs to adjust to what this means.

Who are the smart ones here? It's Rockstar, not you or me. They know that every crate destroyed is edging people closer to buying shark cards to get everything they want. So destroy as many crates as you wish. You get nothing out of it, I get nothing out of it, and we're all penniless and forced into buying shark cards.

You're a real Rockstar champion. I applaud you.

Only for payback. I was minding my own business competing in the fly under the bridges challenge when a CEO and Co. started shooting at me in my helicopter. They then decided to launch a crate mission, it gets better, they end up with the yacht mission with 3 crates floating out to sea.

I called up a hydra and toyed with them before letting them get to land only to have all their crates blown up, one by one as they tried to race to their warehouse! Was very enjoyable.

Apart from that, I f you leave me in peace, I'll do the same.

Another thread?? Ok the reason is simple, we know it pisses you off and its GTA online.

We would kill you for free. 2k and knowing it annoys you is icing on top.

Personally I leave those collecting or making drop off's alone but it's GTA so what do expect when your a legitimate target & some people are trying to make money. Just had someone in a jet shoot me down making a plane delivery but another crew in a copter showed up & tried to help me out so not all people are arseholes. He still got me as I was a smoking wreck by the time they showed up & sure i'm pissed he cost me 100,000 but that's how it goes.

Getting real tired of people just running to the whole rockstar did it to make us buy shark cards. I'm a day one 360 player now on next gen, I've yet to buy shark card. Shakcards were implemented so that when rockstar moves on and there are no more updates the game can still generate profit for them.

When a thread turns sour and the OP requests a lock because of it, it's generally not a good idea to create the same thread so soon afterwards.
