In which order you prefer playing 3-D Era Games storyline? And why do you think that way?

Mine is chronological;

1 9 8 4 Vice City Stories

1 9 8 6 V i c e C i t y

T h e I n t r o d u c t i o n

1 9 9 2 S a n A n d r e a s

1 9 9 8 Liberty City Stories

2 0 0 0 A d v a n c e

2 0 0 1 G T A I I I

And my reason is;

I love playing in the chronological order because i really enjoy seeing all the cities and characters develop through the time.

If you are ignoring playing or watching the walktrough of GTA Advance, you are missing so much on GTAIII's story. A lot of GTAIII's characters are in it, and you actually see that 8-Ball getting arrested, which explaining his prison sentence in 2001.

Also, when you watch The Introduction DVD before SA and LCS, it makes an great connection to Salvatore's business life and LCS. Seeing his office in his house before the LCS story feels a lot better too. You see Ken trying to talk to Tommy, which is wraps up the Vice City story questions.

I really think that playing GTA III the last is a lot better, because when you play it first, you immediately you feel like you are playing a really old game, which i truly hate.

As I wouldn't care about it playing "HD era", I prefer to play "3D era" GTA III - GTA SA because the gap (in terms of technology) from GTA III to GTA SA is too big to play it chronological.

I don't really think it matters. It's not like the Metal Gear games where the story is such an important factor that it has to span multiple games. Returning characters in GTA is less like developing the character's arc and more like a little cameo.

I always played them in the order they came out.

Appreciating the technical improvements > trying to follow what little intertwining stories there are between the games.

I'm indifferent. I'd play the Game that interested me at that particular time.

Im actually going through a chronological walkthrough of the III era. ATM I'm playing GTA SA. Just need LCS, and III.

I actually understand everything regarding the storyline. You guys should try it.

But what do we possibly gain though if it's nearly the same as playing them out of order? Or simply remembering what you played before and going "Oh yeah, now I see why Salvatore's so paranoid".

I don't care about the order. Also, each GTA game has their own story and just references the other GTA's, it's not important to go in a specific order. For me, I just go by what I feel like playing. If I feel like playing San Andreas, I play it. If I feel like playing Vice City, I play it, and so on.

Though I have all the 3D era games (except Advance), I've never finished either one and only played bits and pieces, or rather the beginning of each one. So I guess I don't care, but if I were committed to playing every game for the whole experience, I'd play by release date. I already find it difficult to play III, and it's even harder after jumping in from SA.

I like to play them in the order they came out. I enjoy seeing how the games improved (or worsened) as the series progressed.
