Is 3rd Person Movement with First Person Aiming Possible?

Is it possible to use "Independent Camera Modes" to have 3rd person movement with first person aiming?

 

Or is there any other way that accomplishes this?

So you want the camera in 3rd person but have it jump to first person when shouldering your weapon for aiming? No... independent camera modes are specific to vehicle / on foot. 3rd person foot 1st person vehicle is retained with independent camera on. Independent camera off would be 3rd person on foot would stay 3rd upon entering vehicle

 

or you want to invert horizontal camera movement... not sure if there's a setting for that.

he wants a camera where he drives and walks around in third person, but switched immediately to first person when he aims a gun and reverts back to third after he finished shooting.

 

sorry OP, not possible, you can only do that via mods on PC but never on consoles and online.

Anything is possible, but they didn't program it that way.

Frankly it would be really annoying with the massive instant zoom and loss of field of vision.

I believe from the game footage so far that's the way ghost recon wildlands in set up, 3rd person then switches to first when you aim.

Yup, spot on. But that's unfortunate. I thought independent camera mode worked like that. Thanks for the info though.
