Goldn-Bayse
I liked it, Kinda strange to see it's not a fixed camera angle anymore like the previous games but otherwise it looks great. ClaudeSpeed1911
ClaudeSpeed1911
That also suprised me. I wonder how the game will play when there are over 10 enemies after the player. Goldn-Bayse
Journey_95
I was never a big fan of the GoW series but this looks very interesting and seems to be a bold new direction for the series. Kratos is already better here than in the previous games where he couldn't stop shouting and was just annoying Also the gameplay looks great. This article is interesting: http://blog.us.playstation.com/2016/06/13/first-look-santa-monica-studios-new-god-of-war-on-ps4/ Seems like they are focusing more on the story & characters this time around Edited June 14, 2016 by Journey_95 ClaudeSpeed1911
ClaudeSpeed1911
I have a feeling they will pull a Kojima and do the thing that happened with Metal Gear Solid 2. Like the son becomes the protagonist. I hope not since Kratos is one of the most awesome protagonist because he doesn't give a dame about anything. The Dedito Gae
Does...does Kratos finally has realistic body proportions? Look at his head, is not a peanut on top of a mountain of muscles anymore. EDIT: Wait, what the f*ck did they do with Kratos? He f*cking changed! Way too calm. Naughtius Maximus
So, Kratos really is the protagonist of the game, huh? I don't know but in any way, it seems forced. I mean, with GoW III, Kratos' story is pretty much tied up well, and considering that the upcoming new game will focus on Norse mythology, why not have a new protagonist? Although all mythologies have too much in common, Norse mythology has its own share of eccentric stuff and charm, apart from Greek mythology. I'd have preffered a new protagonist created solely for this Norse myth centric game. Sure, he would have shared lots of similar characteristics with Kratos, but would still be an outstanding persona of his own. Therefore, I feel like Kratos is way too much forced and pushed in already. I'd have been excited and relieved much more if the creators would come up with something fresh. Actually there's an article that explains my point of view very well: http://kotaku.com/god-of-war-4-and-why-its-time-to-kill-off-kratos-1771542710 Edited June 16, 2016 by Loosestring The Dedito Gae

I hope not since Kratos is one of the most awesome protagonist because he doesn't give a dame about anything. I could swear I've read or heard on an interview that Kratos is going to be the only playable character. I have never played any GoW game, but this one caught my interest. I think Uncharted and The Last of Us redefined the whole linear adventure genre and now even such a huge franchise tries to adapt as well. Back in the day I've seem my friend play GoW2 and that wasn't really my thing, neither is devil may cry or dantes inferno. But this looks absolutely beautiful. ClaudeSpeed1911
I could swear I've read or heard on an interview that Kratos is going to be the only playable character. Acording to Cory (Director of the game) who made GOW2 and the intro to GOW 3 you are correct. Maybe they are lying to suprise us or maybe the son will be the protagonist the next game. Edward Nashton
Just read something really intriguing that has piqued my interest: WARNING! This is spoiltastic if it turns out to be true. http://kotaku.com/a-closer-look-at-secrets-hiding-in-the-god-of-war-revea-1782108799 The gist is that the game takes place in pre-Viking Scandinavia, during the time where the mythical beings of Viking legends roamed about, this story could be the God of War series' take on the origin of the Norse pantheon, and how Kratos becomes Odin and his yet to be named son is, you know it, Thor. Also I believe there's an ending to GOW 1 which reveals that Kratos had a brother trapped in Hades who may come back as Loki and serve as the primary villain throughout the series. To me, this sounds totally freakin' awesome and I hope to god it's true. I guess we'll see. Edited June 17, 2016 by Edward Nashton
Arlarse
^^ If thats true it adds another pretty awesome layer to the game. Really am looking forward to it. The changes all look for the better as well, and you can see Santa Monica has been taking some inspiration from Naughty Dog. Kratos is in previous games was superficially awesome but fundamentally an antagonist, driven solely to destroy those who opposed him. I think that was fun but at the same time its not something with any longevity to it. I like the idea that he's actually a conflicted anti-hero and I feel thats where they're going to take him as a character. His son is the other interesting layer to the game. They've confirmed he won't be playable but you can level him so I wonder if he'll be someone who comes to the forefront in future titles after God of War.
