Its really annoying to be forced to choose from the list with dozens of options according to what OP stated.

Sorry, decided not to vote because it should be open for discussions where fans are left on their own to share their list of interiors ( or enterable locations).

I'm more interested in having a variety of very detailed, highly interactive enterable locations, and if possible, showing many major to minor changes in them over the course of the storyline.

I don't have any particular "type" of enterable locations in mind, but I'll be happy with anything that is more interesting, and engaging, to use and interact in game and not just gimmicks like stupid minigames locations, boring internet cafes, apartments, hospital, and empty warehouses, etc as seen in GTA IV with hardly anything of use in visiting them in the long run.

I love how you MUST take a jab on IV whenever is possible while knowing full well what happens when you do.

Even better regarding this issue, you said IV barely had anything interesting(you forgot to mention that was only your opinion, not a fact) yet you either intentionaly doesn't mention or is completely OBLIVIOUS to how your precious 3D era games had the same problem, and how your precious V doesn't have that problem...Because all the VERY FEW interiors that exists in that game are EXCLUSIVE to missions or certain events only!!!

Seriously, you'd do a lot of good to every discussion you join by just not making unnecessary comparissions, I'm surprised the mods haven't called you out on that yet.

Rockstar doesn't care about politicians or what is offensive. They love the controversy. Free marketing genius.

GTA Vice City had a really big mall interior.

We need a LOT more enterable buildings. This is where Saints Row 2 excells yet again over the HD GTA era. Just last week I was playing SR2 and I found an unmarked interior I had never seen before. And ive been playing since 2008!

It's been a while since I last played SR2, but I remember it having a lot of variety regarding interiors. The illegal gambling den inside of the sports/fitness complex being one of my favourites.

I remember being able to enter the whole entire airport through multiple ways as well.

1.) Through the front doors

2.) Through an empty airplane ramp.

There was even a gambling den and arena you could explore.

Vice City had the big mall and the airport. Both are sizable interiors that were a great feature given it was only the second 3D GTA. Lets not forget the shops, (a restaurant too, I think) and the arena.

I'll be happy to see a fully-realised, detailed mall, airport and arena again. The next city or cities for me can remain around the size of Los Santos and I hope Rockstar focuses on interiors, including interiors that aren't used in the story. Random doors that open in alleys, random underpasses, the odd open sewer and explorable sewer system.

I really enjoyed Sleeping Dogs having an exclusively pedestrian area, the Night Market. It was great exploring some of the alleyways off there. It's also fun to explore places you think others might not be able to find. Nothing better than leaning against an unmarked door that you expect to be locked and it opens.

If Rockstar can focus on hundreds of secret little areas, passages, little tunnels, I'd be very happy.

It's a great idea !! A fully explorable sewer / underground system would be awesome .. I loved all that tunnels and dark passages at the Assasins Creed series . You can walk under the lots of cities at that series . Also in the last mission at La Noire , you can wander around the sewer system . I liked the underground tunnels connected with subway at Gta 5 , but it must be much more bigger at gta next . Also there should be homeless guys , drug addicts , etc live there .. Furthermore there should be secret underground clubs , parties , gambling locations , auctions , sects , meetings , etc which we wouldn't see on the map and have to explore to find that places ...

Exactly . That game has many interiors that we can enter . Considering the release date and limitations at that time , we should expect much more interiors in detail in gta next .

I mostly want to be able to enter some random city blocks with interior stairs to the roof, maybe some open apartments and flats here and there with some secrets. In various city areas, to get a feel of how the different people live. Also some random businesses, offices etc.

Then some random stores, even if they are not interactive. Although I do like the option to replenish health or items by buying them in stores, and a chatty store clerk helps.

Cop stations are a must, hospitals should have at least a part of the bottom floor available.

And yea, NPC's houses. Also they should kick you out if you climb in over the window or come in uninvited.

Airports and malls would be great, but those buildings would need to be huge in order for this to make sense. No point in having an airport that's one building 100 metres long. Which would mean the map has to be comparably huge as well. Unless it's a small city with a tiny airport (it could still have a huge mall though).

I like factories and warehouses, but they are such a generic videogame/action movie location, we've seen them a billion times already.

Definitely scratch aquariums and zoos, because that would require adding too many animals, and again it would need to be a big enough area, in this case it's not worth it I think. Also, enterable schools with the ability to have shootouts in them is probably not the best idea.

Edit: On the other hand, after reading the ideas about riding an elephant or pushing peds into shark tanks, that sounds nice. What would be needed though is some persistence. I.e. if you flood the aquarium by shooting up the shark tank, it should remain flooded for a long time in-game. If you release animals from the zoo, you should be able to see tigers hunting people for a few days later. Etc.

@RogerWho: Agree with everything you said, especially about the more novelty places such as zoos and aquariums.

Secret places is a huge thing for me or thinking you found a part of a map that nobody knows about is great. Like you said, an open window here and there that you can climb in to would be nice. Like the original Max Payne (or was it MP2), I loved when you had to climb some ledges on the outside of an apartment, then you had to sneak past the guy that was asleep drunk on the couch, meanwhile there's something crazy on the TV. Perfect gaming moment for me.

How about the odd neighbour that runs out of their house to kick you out of their garden when you are messing around in their pool. Maybe even with a shotgun. Maybe not be an interior that you can enter but will give life to the man houses and backyard you enter. It doesn't have to be too frequent but like 1 in every 100 backyards you might enter an occupier will try chase you out and one in every 200 houses they may have a shotgun.

I loved the burglary missions in SA. It made the world seem so much bigger and deeper, That coupled with the amount of safehouses you could buy and enter, you really got a sense that there were houses, with people living in them and you got to see inside those houses and see those people sleep.

Other that those things, I would like to find some abandoned residential buildings occupied by pigeons and the odd junkie. No lights in there at night, graffiti all over the place. Creepy noises in the distance. Cliched but the old abandoned mental institute. It could feature in a drug deal mission or something but it would be nice to explore.

Secret places are cool. When I'm messing around in GTAO, I'm always happy to find at least an exterior stairway that can be climbed on, bummer there usually isn't anything worthwhile at the top.

Speaking of hidden places, interiors should be supplanted by dark alleyways and such spots that are easy to miss. One of my favorite places in GTA IV's LC are the narrow alleyways around the Triangle. There's hidden armor in one of them, you have to climb on a dumpster to get it. Nobody ever goes there and it's dark. It makes me wonder who is that armor for and what else ends up in those dumpsters. Looks like an ideal spot for drug dealing, right next to the biggest, shiniest square under the noses of cops.

Basically anything that makes me uneasy about how much crime and filth there really is in the city. And how we can do more of it.

I would love an airport, but it would need a good bit of work to be realistc. I never played San Andreas but I do like the sound of sneaking into homes, I think it would really make the city feel alive. The lack of interiors in V does annoy me, why can't R* keep some interiors open? Life Invader was huge, I spent half an hour on that mission wandering around the offices, that club/bar you go into for one of Trevor's side missions is big enough as well. The shootout options would be great, as of now the only place I seem to have a good shootout is Amu-nation. I would much rather a IV sized map with plenty of interiors and side missions involving them.

I really don't know, and I obviously can't explain the Development Decisions made there were.

Anyway, it's amazing what the 145kb large 'OpenInteriors.asi' Script can do to help extend the exploration of Southern San Andreas.

They should open up as many interiors as they can. Interiors help add life to the setting. They definitely shouldn't repeat GTA V where they locked almost every interior outside of the missions.

They should make buildings enterable yes. Hopefully not just walk into all of them like some of the apartments in IV but break into. If they made it so some buildings' doors need to be kicked or have the door knobs shot, while others need a nice little sticky bomb on the door to be entered, that would be great. Depending on the building you could get a high, low, or no wanted level for breaking into it.

That's one of the most irritating things in gta 5 ... Why did they created all that buildings ( lifeinvader , fib , iaa , maze bank , tequila-la , solomon's office , simeon's showroom , etc.. ) in detail , if we can't enter except the missions ?? I mean what's the point ?? If you created such places let us able to enter anytime .. Hope that'll change in gta 6 ..

Can't tell you how much I'd love a zoo or something like Disneyland

Imagine having all the cities and doing a trip with friends to GTA Disneyland like a family holiday. All aboard the minivan!

I don't have a specific wishlist of accessible interiors. but I just want to say that GTA VI should raise the standard and bring back a lot of interiors where players may find enjoyable activities to engage in and for exploration which gives the world more depth. GTA V, after coming from IV, was severely lacking in this regard and it was a surprise that even a fundamental thing as restaurants aren't accessible anymore. Los Santos and its surrounding areas looked beautiful from the exterior, but they didn't have the depth of the interiors. It was infuriating to look at all these carefully crafted buildings, but then you realize that they're just there and you can't know what's happening inside. Too much eye candy.

I've said this before but access to all if not most interiors is the next logical step for GTA to take to move forward as a series overall, that and a NEW location.

We really need more interiors they bring the city alive pawn shops, corner stores(We had them in V I want more though),motels, nightclubs, bars. They need to be interactive as well it's one thing to go in them but we also need things to do. Backroom businesses would add more to interiors and regular businesses. Maybe the corner store runs a couple of illegal gambling games like cock fights or the pay n spray also acts like a chop shop, funeral homes letting you smuggle drugs etc.

I agree , we won't see any kids in Gta Next ... However they'd design high schools or military academies or colleges which the attending students are old enough . A college campus , parties , festivals , sororities , fraternities , sports , spring break would be a lot of fan . We can attend a college under fake id to collect information about some students , staff or lecturers in some part of story mode or just having fun !

Some awesome ideas here. I especially like the pawn shop idea.

You could pawn weapons/vehicles for cash, then buy them back. Or even tie the pawn shops in with the burglary missions if they make a comeback. Go rob a house, unload the sh*t at the pawn shop for cash, or keep it for your own safe house.

It would be nice if we got a Wal-Mart sized supermarket in a GTA game. Think about it. It would be the perfect place to create 6 star wanted level rampages.

I hope they have at least one of every major type of building, such as colleges and malls. It'd leave great potential for people who like to roleplay or make cinematics. However, I doubt colleges will be featured in any games in the distant future, given that non-chalant murder and colleges aren't a very good mixture recently.
