I used to get pissed when this happened. Now, I find it to be a blessing, as I can just invite some of my buds to work on our individual warehouses without interference from the a**hats hiding in their jets.

Since the new DLC was released, it really is! Last night, I had two full warehouses to offload and I deliberately kept session switching until I got myself in a public session all alone.

 

I have unofficially dubbed the Finance & Felony DLC as the 'Widespread Paranoia update' lol

I think voting to kick all of those types is a very smart thing after this update. I lone wolf all of my CEO work, so I really don't have the power to kick anyone. So I just resort to surfing sessions until I find one thats empty or fairly quiet.

I definitely wasn't complaining as some here said I merely wanted to see if it's something on my part and what can be done to fix it. Now knowing that it's Rockstar, I guess I just have to accept it.

What about any challenges? Like heist criminal mastermind challenge, will the challenge reset if 'player name left' happens in the middle of grinding heists?

It would suck ifI find a group of same people to do the challenge with, only to have it back to 0 if session splits...

Would be like super waste of time and effort...

It is not always Rockstars fault. I had the same problem on PC version and managed to fix it, have a look at this thread ---> http://gtaforums.com/topic/846492-everybody-leaves-the-session-all-of-a-sudden/. It was a cable gateway (router) problem on my end.

 

You didn`t say on what platform you are playing.

It's very common,and there's nothing that can be done about it on the player's end. It's some problem with Rockstar's servers that will (more than likely) never be fixed. Hope this helped.

It used to be a pain when the session got split but with the CEO work it's a blessing. For anyone looking for solo public sessions to do CEO jobs go to you internet settings and change the mtu setting manually to 800. I've done it on PS4 and I get an empty lobby pretty much every time.

I don't know why you would do that though, I try finding lobbies with over 25 players because you get a decent bonus for selling in a lobby over 25, selling a full large warehouse in a lobby over 25 players gets you an extra 500k which pays almost all of the costs of buying the items.

I know, I just don't see why they would give up 500k, I think people over exaggerate how bad public sessions are to be honest.

Everything about this has been said already, but I just wanted to chime in and recommend to forward ports that this game needs. There are a few extra ones compared to other games. I used to have a load of problems, but after I did everything I found in the net, it has been so much better.

Just do what I did: Get yourself a large enough driller and some holes on the walls, run the wires through it.

That's a real shame. I used them for a couple of years and they were excellent. I don't trust repeaters as it just takes on weakness and the whole thing is useless (just like the GTAO P2P network ). I'm sure you'll get something sorted.

I tested my internet and it's 32mbps down and 2mbps upload. Ping is always at 6ms constant.

 

I really want to try and have everything perfect from my part at least. I want to know if I have everything set up, such as NAT and all that stuff but I don't know how to do it.

I remember opening some ports long ago for Tennis Elbow game and it worked like charm because I was able to host games, but for GTA V it's trickier and if anyone can guide me through it I would be grateful...

 

Yes I know it's sometimes a blessing to have empty session for CEO work but it sucks if you are not into it and want to have fun with other players, especially if you can do something about it to reduce the session split.

Sometimes it happens after only 5mins of playing.

 

By the way, I'm on PC.

The apple airport repeater system is okay, if you want to pay extra for the Apple brand.

I actually had no idea of the 500k bonus in a full lobby! That is definitely an incentive for me to brave out a delivery in a crowded session.The problem is everyone that I used to game with on GTA, and who were trustworthy don't really play GTA Online anymore, so, I pretty much fly solo exclusively. Which accounts for my paranoia. lol Plus, I pretty much always find myself in a session with really awful griefers and trolls, its the luck of the draw I guess, but I always see the bad side of GTA Online. lol

I can't even deliver a single crate never mind selling off an entire warehouse in a lobby of 25+

 

I legit had a player destroy my crate in a 3 person lobby a couple nights ago...even after I sent him a text to say truce let's all make money.

 

They can keep 500k if it means I don't lose everything and hours of work. Not worth it to me, boost it to 5M and I MIGHT consider, probably not though.
