For other options, I'll go with the Triads and Vagos/Aztecas that I wish were explored a bit more but hey, game's already packing as it is.

SA explored every gang more so than any other games, Ballas and Vagos make great enemies, Aztecas a good ally (Cesar alone is a good friend, you help them retake their territory in one of the most thrilling missions against the Vagos). Unlike it others say VC wasted its gangs, the Vercetti gang had no part of the story, only the Cuban-Haitians actually played some part of the story and the rest were more of bodyguards than gangs. GSF played a huge part much like the Leone family in 3 and LCS. In SA even SF gangs like Triads and Da Nangs as well as LV Mafias have roles. The only underutilized gang was the Rifa who felt like thrown in some mission without proper sory, in other words in a VC like manner rather than SA like manner.

Rifa members at least had official street influence on their turfs with the drug trade with the loco syndicate. Sure they didn't have any bigger roles like the others gangs but they did have some screen time. Both during SF and the final events of LS during the riots. I always wished the mafia themselves had street influence in LV but it makes complete sense because mafia organizations don't fly colors or anything in general like with typical street gangs like with LS gangs who do it so well. Mafias are much more organized and keep it crime hidden. Hence why they operate in secretly in casinos. And CJ completely f*ckes over a highly organized Mob boss (Salvatore) then walks away like nothing happens. CJ would disappear in less than a week, but hey gta logic sh*ts on everything right? :turn:

Completely forgot about that mission towards the end of the game, but yeah that was cool. Love how CJ started immersing himself in that 'lowrider' culture of sorts after he is introduced to Cesar, it was sort of neat getting closer to that part of town and the gang (unless I'm misremembering and there were no Aztecas present)

The American Mafia have never really been that powerful or influential on the West Coast, that's why they did not feature too much in San Andreas. By the early 1990s, the American Mafia was already dead and defunct in Los Angeles, San Francisco and most of California. Bear in mind that the events of San Andreas are set from 1992.

Mafias didn't have any business in Cali. Let alone Los Angeles. The prison gangs were the mafias and the taxes. At around the old days yes indeed they did but that was back in the times "waaaay" before there was any serious street set trippin with the extreme high rise in street gangs.

All that disappeared quickly around the final years of the 1950's due to street gangs increasing drastically and practically running LA during the time periods staring in the early 60's then continuing during the 70's, 80's and 90's. We had our sh*t going down in Boyle Heights from the late 80's onwards. Ain't nobody or any of the homeboys were tripping over any mafia type sh*t besides our "own" But yeah I definitely agree :^: You got it right OG. Just wished SA's mafia had some street appearances cause it would be fun just hearing their dialogues while constantly crashing with other peds :p And LV's freeways would be twice the disaster if they would've actually been spawning there.

 

They are an acutal gang but are disabled somewhere in the files. Lmao, I once made GSF and Vagos spawn close to the four dragons casinos freeway thanks to glitches so there would always be shootouts between random NPC's and gangs cause they were always constantly crashing into every vehicle lmaoo. But you and me both know the mafia can be spawned with territory glitches and editors from the game thanks to that. :turn: And of course the "gangs everywhere cheat".

I can make the mafia spawn anywhere with Save Editor, but I keep things realistic though. I got the GSF, Ballas, and Vagos in San Fierro (only the rough parts though), and the GSF, Ballas, Vagos and Rifa in certain parts of Las Venturas. In real life there are no Bloods and Crips in San Francisco, but they have many black gangs that work in a similar manner, so me placing GSF and Ballas in SF is fine. There are Norteno Hispanic gangs in San Francisco too, so I just stuck the Vagos in there to fight them (The Rifa are supposed to be Nortenos). In real life all the Cali Black and Hispanic gangs have a strong presence in Las Vegas, so all LS and SF gangs are in Las Venturas. Kept it realistic as I could.

I really wish I went by this :/ My first testing file from 2007 was horribly corrupt because there was an extream high density of gangs and drug dealers everywhere and for some reason those goddamn LSPD helicopters were spawing all over the place in all three cities, lol. I didn't pay attention to any detail and just placed random gangs with the help of gameshark. Luckily though throughout the years I payed much more attention to these glitches and placed them in areas where it would make sense when I had the time. Doing all this on PC is much easier but I just stuck with my brick of a PS2. I briefly remember I stopped playing SA on PC around 2005-06.  Sh*t looking back the amount of hours I would spend doing all this with a friend of mine. Haha, grate times :rol:

i would say rifa. i know they are not as big as some other gangs. but they seem cool. i like their colors. and i also like standing around and listening to their dialogue. i hope if they ever do a gta with san fierro. they expand on the rifa more. and give them more roles.

I always thought these guys were underrated in SA's gangs list. They always had class because they would dress traditionally with suspenders and zoot suit like slacks similar to the old school vatos from the late 60's and 70's while the other cholos from LS had the typical 90's look. Rifa members are just unique in their own way and most of them seem laid back everytime, lol.

 

"Give me a toke or prepare to dieee!" lmao...Probably the least gang who aren't much of a threat to CJ other than replying that you belong to the familes or they start busting caps :p

Did they really believe someone would be able to do that? Even when he(sweet) says that, his homie ryder was just smoking weed in his own f*ckin house.

While I largely agree with you, I had to play the game and study the plot more closely to realise that the GSF were against the trade in hard drugs, mostly crack, not weed or PCP (which they were involved in).

I really wish CJ had an alliance with both gangs from Wu zi mu's Traids to Ceasers Aztecas. Seeing as we both help these gangs and their leaders sort out sh*t and help them as much as possible but even then all three gangs remained rivals in the end :/ It doesn't help the fact that GSF are practically running the triads out of Chinatown and Calton heights is a warzone in my version, lol. I guess R* never did look upon this detail unfortunately.

Story-wise, they're somewhat friendly. R* went lazy with the game's script, though. The Aztecas stay hostile even post story, and both the Rifa and Da Nang Boys still don't turn hostile even after CJ kills T-Bone or The Snakehead respectively.

Yeah for reals though. You would think a hard tough leader like T-bone who almost choked out CJ and begged for his life (lol) but then kills him, the San Ferrio Riffa would be all over CJ's ass everytime he enters SF. But na they still just remain the least harmful gang in SA other than provoking them, the same story with the Da Nang Boys.

What was the method to adding territories to other cities? I searched but only found some master minds pages and some other random information on gang turfs.

Long time no see holmes :p 

 

And that would be the satchel method your looking for. Master minds gang glitch is far different in it's motive. Satchel method focuses on giving GSF turf in any location by sticking them on gang members when your hood becomes under attack. This is also known as the Hood abuse glitch.

 

The other way is by luring the attacking gang group into an area that doesn't have gang turf and killing three there etc...Hardly use this method though as it's far more complicated to execute and chances are you'll run out of time far more quickly unless your using some sort of timer mod. Using the satchel method is far more reliable imo.

Yes! I couldn't find this topic anywhere for some reason mabye I didn't search well enough. So it's the Satchel method. It's been so long since I did any experiments with glitches. Just got back on playing SA couple days back. And yeah fam school has been tiring these last few times but thankfully everything came out well before summer arrived. Guess I'll be visting GTAF a little more often once again :pp
