Free Merryweather Helicopter

I wish I had found out about this sooner.

 

You can cheat the system into giving you the helicopter for free. When the helicopter is landing, move directly below the helicopter and follow where it tries to go. After waiting a few seconds with the heli hovering above you, you should receive a call from Merryweather saying that they will refund you your cash because the pilot couldn't land. As soon as you get the money back, move away so the heli can temporarily land. Have your pistol out so you can shoot the pilot before he starts flying away.

 

It will work only if the pilot has a spot to land in the first place, or else he will hover too high. If there's a lot of space to land, the pilot will naturally move around to find a spot, but with practice you should be able to get it every time. The method costs you nothing but an insignificant amount of ammo and comes in handy for those of you who are careful with money spending.
