So with the latest update, we were given the ability to upgrade a select few vehicles that we occasionally get to use on certain CEO missions.

One of these vehicles is a Cuban 800, and a particularly interesting upgrade you can get for it is the "radar jammer".

This jammer is operated by a passenger in the plane. They simply press right on the d-pad/directional buttons, and the jammer is activated for a short period of time.

While active, the plane can't be locked onto by missiles.

After this period of time, you have to wait until a cool down is over before you can use it again.

Here's a video of it being used:

With some minor tweaking, this could quite probably be made to work for a solo player.

For example, you could have to press Square/X (the "change weapon" button) to select it, then press X/A to "fire" it.

Personally, I'd love it. Of course I'm more than a little biased, but this seems like a combination of things people have wanted for ages - only they're being tied down to a select few missions.

A lot of people have wanted customization for their Pegasus vehicles for a long time. There has also been a considerable amount of people asking for slow aircraft to have something like flares, or some way of better avoiding missiles.

Now we almost have both those things, but they're both just tied down to the occasional vehicle, in the occasional job. I think they'd have a lot more potential in all our Pegasus vehicles, or at least some of them.

Voted for "yes but not for hydra/jets" but I think it should also not be on the attack choppers, they should just get an armor buff.

Rather than full on customization, perhaps we could end up with multiple buying options. As in, I go to order my....Annihilator and I get three options. For regular price, I get a gunless model. For 300$, I get the guns, 400 is guns+jammer.

And so on, giving options for additional 100 increments to vehicles based on what they are. Mostly jammers? Perhaps skid floaties for choppers, etc.

Oh yes - if they had their armour buffed, then they wouldn't need this in my opinion. I'm just considering them as they are though.

A griefers wet dream.

Well, maybe lol.

Depends though. I mean, a Cuban 800 can't really grief anyone.

The thing is I don't understand why rockstar didn't do it, I would gladly fork out millions for jammers on each Pegasus vehicle. at about 200k per jammer, I'd probably spend about 3 mil putting it on my Pegasus vehicles.

Oh I'd give practically anything for it. I would die so that people could have this in their slower aircraft.

This would be a preferable alternative to ... Well, me having to sacrifice my life.

No just messing around. I actually think that's quite a good idea. Could be a good way to balance things if anything armed (like a Buzzard) got the jammer. Maybe there could even be cool downs on the "jammer-enabled" versions of vehicles.

Well that would mean we would have to rebuy the vehicles, hopefully we wouldn't need to pay full price.

I think he meant that, when we call up something we own (let's just use a Frogger as an example), Pegasus would give us various options:

$200: Standard

$500: Jammer version

And so on.

Or at least that's how I interpreted it. If he does mean buying the vehicles all over again, then I retract my support for that idea lol.

While minding your own business below, get attacked by say a Buzzard and use launcher but it's got a jammer - no.

For a nomal helicopter e.g. Frogger - yes.

Ah I see what you mean, Although I honestly doubt rockstar would do that, there are two different cargobobs with a 200k price difference because of a different colour scheme.

Good thing is some of us got the regular one cheap on last gen. while the browser trick was still possible.

Yeah I was happy I did that, although I have to stop myself buying the new one, it looks sexy.

A Hydra is not a jet?

I split the Hydra from the other jets since the Lazer's not a Pegasus vehicle. Since I made the question about Pegasus vehicles, it was a little awkward and I had to mention the other jets too.

I never got around to doing that unfortunately. but I have two 'Bobs now, so all's well that ends well. Now I just need jammers on them.

Well, you could have just said Hydra/Lazer, since they're both fighter jets jets.

Sh*t, I'm down for that. For unarmed planes/helicopters only, of course. Pegasus could always use some tweaking.

Jammers (perhaps they could even hide your location on the enemies radars if they are in their planes/helicopters), boosts, bombs, guns for underused aircraft ( Cuban 800 / Rustler lovechild, Annihilator with explosive rounds, and so on...), etc.

But that's for another theme, right.

I voted "yes, but not for hydras and jets" and "yes" to solo activation. I think Hydras and jets don't need this as long as they can avoid the homing missiles other ways. If they couldn't outrun the missiles, I'd allow the jammer to them as well.

On a side note, I'd like it to be more realistic approach to the subject as in flares, instead of a weird jammer mechanic.

A limited number of flares, which you could maybe refill (or well, maybe just order a new hydra for 200 GTA$). Or atleast the flares should be on cooldown, maybe 30 sec, or 1 min..

EDIT: Oh and definitely not for non military vehicles, that sh*t is just weird. I mean how many news companies install Flares/missile jammers in their helicopters?

Voted "yes, but not for jets" and "yes". Support conditional upon appropriate cooldowns and call-in costs for military Pegasus vehicles.

Well that's one way single player's Cuban 800 bomber could be added into online. Plus I really liked the Rustler.

Some great ideas there. I think some helicopters can drop bombs straight down too.

I just think that since more customization seems to be a big thing (look at the options for yachts, our offices, more clothes, etc.) well it's about time Pegasus was updated to reflect that.

Now now, I'd never do that ...

Or would I?

Still, I don't know if that can really fall under "griefing". I mean, it's only one kill (which you might not get credited for), and you have to not only lose your plane, but die as well to get it.

Point taken though - I guess it could be kamikaze'd into people.
