Something I haven't been able to figure out and it's been driving me insane since I realized:

 

 

Random building a block south from Playboy X's appartment, near where Luis' appartment should be, I don't remember if it serves any purpose on the story, but I don't think so. You can see the people and the cars below.

 

Crackhead's appartment, appears in one mission. You can even see trains from here.

 

Irish pub, you can see its garden from here.

 

Now here's the thing:

 

Niko's freaking Bohan appartment. Why I can't see the street below!?

 

And the same for the Alderney one, and the Hove Beach one (the first place you go to in the story and I can't take a print because it is... well... burned.)

Probably the safehouses interiors were made before the other interiors, thats why you cant look out from the window, becuase in TLaD, Brian safehouse has this little window where you can even jump out.

The other possible reason is that the actual space that ocuppies the room (your safehouse) inside of the building doesnt match with the exterior and you'd be looking a black wall, not the actual street.

 

but thats just my thoughts, it can be wrong.

These are just unnecessary details. I always imagine that our protagonist in every gta game does all that stuff like taking a shower, charging his phone etc. while saving or after we quitted the game.

Would have been good if they could have added it just to make the apartments feel more complete. They can't add everything they like though. Whether it's Dev time or memory limitations. I suspect it was something that missed the cut. They are there in V but then other things are missing like street food vendors.

Why does Niko hate Vlad? Vlad was a honest character, whenever I call Roman for a cab, he always sends a dirty cab, whenever i visit the cab depot and get one of the cabs, it's always a dirty one. Vlad called Roman a fatty and he was a right, he called Mallorie a bitch and he was right, she had some "good time" with Vlad even though she was in a relationship with Roman.

Why does Niko hate Vlad?

Because Vlad was having an affair with Mallorie, and also how Roman used to let Vlad push him around and does not stand up to that.

As a player, the game didn't really gave the impression of Vlad being some bad guy to really feel threatened and any signs of animosity to finish him off. It didn't make sense for Niko to take it to the extreme of killing Vlad just because Roman could be with Mallorie?

This was the exact same thing Roman tried to make him understand.

But Niko didn't deal earlier deal with Bulgarin because he had too "many connections for that", and now, he's talking about "growing a spine" without thinking about the risks to his cousin's life and consequences involved later?

Grow a f*cking spine. You think Vlad won't come after us when I am chasing him like this? I have to end it, here and now.

It was a stupid move, but I guess the game wanted to show that Niko wasn't thinking before acting, which led to him to work for Faustin, and ultimately being betrayed by Dimitri, and being hunted by the Russian Mafia.

Niko shouldn't have committed that murder. As a player, I didn't find any reason to kill Vlad.

Yeah he's remarkably well informed at the end for someone who walked blindly into a trap just before "Hostile Negotiations".

 

This is me attempting to fix the plot holes, but here goes:

 

Perhaps Dimitri after "Union Drive", "Buoys Ahoy" and "Diamonds are a Girls Best Friend" came to the conclusion that a conventional approach to taking out Niko wasn't going to work. So he sent someone (probably to a card game) to plant information with Roman - knowledge that would either to persuade Niko to do the deal, or to draw him to the Platypus (a place of his choosing, as heavily guarded as could be).

 

An alternative is that someone from Bulgarin planted the information. As Timur may remark in the Final mission "now that Rascalov is dead, we have sole claim to the junk". Whilst Bulgarin obviously didn't like Niko maybe he figured out there was a way to get him working for him without even knowing.

I realized this while playing the story again: During Roman's Sorrow, Roman tells Niko that he had a dream where he opened a classy tavern with Niko, but when he got the insurance money from the cab depot, he opened another cab depot. Why Roman didn't take this opportunity to make one of his dreams come true? And it isn't for lack of money, the Middle Park safehouse, also bought with the insurance money, looks expensive as hell, and I think Cavalcades are not exactly cheap. I mean, sure, it was done so players could take free taxis again, but plotwise, it doesn't make that much sense.

Playing this game for 9 years straight makes you think about little details, not including technical errors or storyline mess ups. Thats what this post is about.

 

 

Like, for example,

 

-Where the hell does Johnny, Niko and Luis charge their phones ? Inifinite batteries I guess

-Why the heck Dave Grossman is the only one seen in the whole game with a proper 'Prospect' patch?

-Why every single safehouse's bathrooms (excluding TLaD ones) are locked?

-Where's the location of Roman's new cab deposit?

-How the Burguer Shot/Clucking Bell's personnel knows what Niko wants with only showing one finger.

-Why Pigeons and seagulls arent afraid of bullets, fire, explosions and overall noise? I've seen pigeons with more balls than some peds.

Those are some seriously disturbing questions.

Let me add my two cents.

 

1. How can Niko stand on spot without having to sit down. Did he work as a British royal guard?

2. How can Niko eat up a bleeder burger with only two bites?

3. Why does Niko never have to take a piss or sh*t?

4. How can Niko carry a large amount of ammunition, carry Bazookas, Rifles etc when they don't show in his body?

5. Why can Roman die in the finale when he can clearly respawn if he dies during friendship hangouts?

6. How can cars drive all dat w/o having to refill gas?

7. How did the diamonds end in a park in dukes?

Two possibilities:

-Ahmed don't know how to use it;

-He tried giving the chute as a representation that he wasn't going to harm him.

 

Esther way, he was scared, Luís mowed down countless NOOSE men...people tend to do stupid things when they are scared.

1) Because it was made for TBoGT? And I think an Eastern European hitman and a Criminal Biker wouldn't really want to go to a dance club (specially Johnny)

2) It isn't dark, it is under saturated, it was made like this because Liberty City/New York are cold places, and it can be easily fixed by changing a few settings.

3) Because Rockstar wanted to go for realism.

4) Most likely because it was the first HD era GTA and Rockstar was still testing with the game's features, so they decided to keep it as basic as possible.

5) Some short function words, specially Prepositions (of) and Conjunctions (and) ate left lower case on titles, which also affects the acronyms. This is made so the acronym isn't just a stream of upper-case letters and in some cases, so it is better aesthetically. Examples: The Lord of the Rings (TLotR), Call of Duty (CoD), The Last of Us (TLoU), etc.
