Why can't rockstar have overwatch's cheating policy? Where they do something to the registry , completely stopping them from coming back , unless they get new hardware.

 

That's ridiculously easy to fix. Either you're mistaken about how they permanently stop people from coming back, or they do something very different. Seriously - I could whip up an application to stop that happening in about 15 minutes.

Okay - he says he doesn't know how they've done it and suggests it may be something in the registry, which is different from you saying that's how they did it. Fair enough - it could be a large number of things, but there are very easy ways around all of them. You just need to prepare for them, which is difficult when you don't know exactly what methods they're using. It will be found out and people will "resolve the issue", I'm sure. If they're cheating then personally I don't care for them and hope they don't find a workaround, but they will.

 

Yeah, i originally read the about it in on a japanese site , it was worded differently in japanese. But rockstar clearly are not doing enough , because the hacking issues are just insane. Application security isn't my strong point on things as these , but they need to do more.

Simple question: Can you mod on ps4? I'm sick of getting messages asking "Are you a modder?". My rank is around 330ish and I have a legit KD of around 1.5 so I'm not sure why they suspect me. I was under the impression there was no modding on ps4?

They can't stop modding, it's not gonna happen, and just as quick as you can make up a program to stop them in 15mins, somebody will already be figuring a way around it. Nothing is flawless, there is ALWAYS a rabbit hole, they just have to find it. The smarter the defense gets, the smarter the modders get, and the better the mod menus get.

I assume that was a response to me, due to you using the "15 minutes" reference. I think you completely misunderstood what I said. Your response had literally nothing to do with my post, other than that 1 reference.

Had a teleporter and godmode guy just now on PC. DaiHai911 or something. Was doing the truck delivery VIP mission and this guy suddenly popped up. Shot at him with a Buzzard and he just ragdolled all over the place. Then paused and tada he was in front of the truck again. Rinse and repeat 5 times until he finally managed to blow up the truck...

does it really surprise you though? Rockstar has never been able to get ahead of the modding/hackers partly due to their incompetence, and partly due to how long they go between patches which allows it to get totally out of control.

It has nothing to do with competence, or even R*. Virtually all competitive games have cheater problems, because any piece of code can be exploited. Even cybersecurity companies (i.e. the supposed experts in preventing exploits) are not immune to them.

 

More frequent patches won't help for a number of reasons. For one, they don't actually fix the "cheater" problem. Secondly, they can only be deployed as a reactionary measure to exploits - not a proactive one. R* does issue quick hotfixes from time to time, btw. But I do think they should focus more on gameplay/griefing exploits, rather than cash/dupe ones.

There is no exploit on Xbox One or PS4 that allows individuals to run unsigned code at this current time. These are just uneducated little kids asking, I get those messages all the time too.

I was just explaining how easy it would be to circumvent a "solution" that modified your registry in the event you were banned, not a way to stop people modifying the game. You wouldn't even need any application to get around that specific issue anyway, if your PC was decent enough. You'd just run the game in a VM.

This thread is about modders, so is therefore only relating to old gen consoles (PS3/XB360) or PC. Neither PS4 or XBone have custom firmware and it's currently looking to be a long way off. You've simply seen glitchers, and you will see lots more because Rockstar can't fix bugs in their software without causing more.

How are you so sure it's not a glitch? There is a creator glitch that allows invincibility and teleportation.

It was a glitch for consoles and it was hot fixed a few hours ago.

 

By any chances was the tug boat near Maze tower?

 

Edit: I should mention that only the teleporting glitch was hot patched but the God mode glitch still remains on consoles.

Never once killed him or even knocked him back. Didn't check his level or K/D, but he wasn't wearing a helmet and he didn't have invisible body parts. This was on ps4

You can still teleport if your PS4 was on sleep mode, and a lot of people put it in sleep mode instead of turning it off, so there will be a lot of teleporting until they totally patch it

It's a glitch. Gotdamn newbs there's no mods on ps4 or xbox1, POINT BLACK PERIOD.

 

It's a creater in multiplayer glitch that lets you be in God mode, and you can teleport all over the map, you can teleport u and 3 friends in a 4 seater car. You can spawn shxt into freemode
