1: Scarf/heavy heist gear exploit still works.

2: One runner to the bikes to trigger alleyway respawn after suicide (before blowing the bikes) still works.

3: Crowd control up to Demolition (not in heist gear), can still run to get in their garage.

4: While in the garage, waiting for atleast 5 seconds during the countdown timer will cause you to only have 2 stars after exiting, still works.

5: Host quitting immediately just before the yellow marker will cause everyone to complete the heist except for the quitting host who will still have the finale ready for re launch.

All tested a couple hours ago as of 2016-June-13 at 2330 hrs.

FFS STOP CALLING IT A GLITCH!

Just because you heard someone else mislabel it doesnt mean you have to.

A glitch has a specific meaning. The Pac. Std. heist is not glitched or NOONE would be able to play it. What people are doing is more correctly called a feature or at worst an exploit.

Every time you folks call it a glitch is like when a Toddler calls a Firetruck a firef*ck. Its amusing the first time but with repetition you begin to worry the child might be autistic.

what? i really mean this: what? i don't say u are wrong, i just don't get it! a glitch is a bug, right? i never did the heist exploit but i think its something with: the host leaves and people still get money and the host can repeat the finale again. this is due to an "error" in the network coding? its the way its designed and its just like it is. the session drops, but its perfectly timed, thats why the game counts it as done, whereas the host is out before it. so this would mean its a glitch? "game feature" which gets exploited. omg you are right, thanks for the heads up. :)

Because you are trying to understand I'll explain it.

When the developers created the game they had to accept certain things are viewed as within their control, and some are not. For the Heist missions they had to create a repeatable job that follows all of the existing rules of environment. In the case of the Pac. Std. Heist players are taking advantage of 2 factors.

First: One of the existing rules of the environment is that (due to the poor reliability of the peer to peer networking used) the player should not be penalized for unexpected disconnects.

Second: The heists use a checkpoint system to track your progress. The player is disconnected before the game registers they're passing the checkpoint. The game is unable to tell if it was intentional or incidental. This approach is akin to the innocent until proven guilty parable.

While taking advantage of this may not appeal to your style of game play, without Rockstar making a statement or taking an action to prevent this in the future all we can reliably presume is they intended it to be used in this way.

This has been a commonly accepted practice in gaming industry since the 80s with Space Invader. As long as it doesnt break the game, its called an exploit until it is acknowledged or patched. If its left in it becomes a feature.

Imagine if you will you are invited to play a card game. Before you play you are told that if you cross your fingers your losses dont count. If not, no harm, but any player who sits down could use this strategy to keep from losing their money. It wont take anything away from you or anyone else. The dealer just forgets you bet.

These players learned how to cross their fingers. No one prevents anyone else from doing it, and it simply takes advantage of how the game tracks your completion.

Rockstar doesnt bother changing it because its would just be studied again to see what the new checkpoints are.

Use the strategy to augment your gameplay or not. Its completely up to you. To call it cheating is inaccurate. Maybe one could argue ethical or moral objections but those are hard to defend when the developer hasnt taken any action after so long.

Makes it to where your player has its regular run speed as opposed to the sluggish run.

Ok just looked it up, you can equip a scarf and your vest will disappear so you can run fast once your past the danger zone, Sounds useful for Humane labs just before you swim out, equip scarf, fast swim out of there!

All the setups? 2 nights ago, I lost mine after the FIRST setup. Finished Vans, came out into free roam, and... it's gone.

Same thing happened to a friend tonight. So finales disappearing is another symptom of whatever's causing the "this heist has recently been completed" bug. Difference is, no one is going to file a ticket because they lost a finale they've been repeating.

Game glitches don't necessarily impede gameplay. In fact, a lot of video game glitches are utilized to advantage by speed runners. Exploiting and glitching are not mutually exclusive. The subject of an exploit can be a feature or a glitch.

Pedantry is meaningless if you can't get it right yourself.

Thanks for quoting me only to then re-explain the part you thought you understood. Had you bothered to read further you could have saved us all some time. What you describe I clearly explained is the difference between a feature and a glitch.

In the Information Technology field these terms have specific and precise meanings. Call it pedantic if you want. I call it the difference between getting a Medical Doctor and a Veterinarian. Both are doctor's but only one of them is trained in human anatomy and physiology.

You can try and argue this point with me but I warn you I have a considerable advantage on this topic given my educational/professional background.

Death Rains From Above

The Finale Repeat "Glitch" is more of an exploit than a glitch. It simply takes advantage of Online's saving system.

In other words, to "patch" it, R* would need to completely alter the very saving mechanism Online runs on. Doing so would likely be extremely difficult to do, not to mention R*'s tendency to cause more problems when trying to fix things.

At this point, I can't help but think R* knows very damn well of the situation and have chosen alternative methods of countering this. The hefty price tags on recent content reflects this. More money in circulation, the less it is worth. Inflation in a nutshell.

I think they'd just change the point at which you get paid for completing it tbh but then they haven't done so far either.

It is not a glitch or an exploit. It is a feature that allows me to play the heist finale over and over without doing the setups.

Omg who cares if it's a glitch or an exploit seriously

Let's just kiss, make up, and call it a explitch, or a gliploit

If anyone is doing any exploiting, its Rockstar. I mean 20 real life dollars for a virtual jet is the very definition of exploitation.

I still wonder does this work?

I just finished this with 2 guys( who I still don't want to name because maybe they didn' screw me over)

What they did is set O as host and his friend to 70%, while random and me at 15.

So we did the heist and he quit under the bridge, but then I got the message that we failed and me and random didn't get any money.

I'm curious if it worked for them though. If it did, I will put their names on the forums because it's a ripp of, while they do it to others over and over again....
