[Workaround] [PC] Play CEO crate missions in private.

Whereas iNarek's netbalancer method will be able to get you solo in a public lobby, this method will allow you to prevent anyone from joining you, except those you want to join, so you will also be able to play with your friends.

Hey guys,

Just a little work-around on PC if you want to play CEO jobs in private ; alone or with your friends, without anyone crashing the party, while still technically being in a public lobby.

In order to do that, you have to differenciate your assets from those of the other players, meaning, you tweak your .rpf files a little. Don't worry now, this is something safe, which is not going to get you banned, I've been doing it for months already, for different reasons, it's undetectable. (For the record, the only things that are detectable and will get you banned are things like god mode, teleporting, spawning money & cars, trainer stuff. Modifying rpf however, is a different type of coding line, which is not detectable, neither bannable).

Something as simple as changing the smallest value in a .meta file (vehicles.meta for instance), will make the game believe you're playing on a different/older version of the game, and nobody else will be able to join you, because their files are going to be different, hence incompatible. This is something that always happened as a consequence if you installed a car mod for instance, but with the new update you can use this to your advantage in order to play in peace.

The best thing about this is that, if everyone has the exact same modified .meta file(s), (just one modded car in commom for example) the game will think you guys have a identical (older) game version and will treat you as such. You and your friends will, as consequence be able to play together, but no one else except you and your buddies will be able to join.

Here is proof that it works like a charm, a friend and clanmate of mine were together in a session, with about 10 other people who also installed the exact same modpack we did. We were able to play together (RP) and no one else was able to join our jobs or public lobbies :

So, you're technically in a public lobby, CEO work will be enabled, however nobody else but the people with the exact same modpack that you will be able to join your session, so no more bad surprises or uninvited guests from now on.

Greetings,

Alex.

In short,

All I have to do to play alone is download one or more vehicle mod, replace it, then play Online?

And if I want my friend or whoever to join me, they have to get same mod right.

Yup, that's pretty much it.

You don't have to though, I believe just going to the vehicles or handling meta and changing one small value will suffice.

You don't have to install car mod or whatever , just change a line in meta file , let's say you change fbrakeforce value in handling.meta of a vehicle , or add a flag in flag section of a vehicle in vehicles.meta , or easier you modify a color code in carvariation.meta of a dlc , then your friends need to have the same modified file in his game Edited by ChOcOsKiZo

Oh I get it now.

So this changing small value is guaranteed to be safe that I will not get banned or something?

Thankyou for the explanation and the information, might try this soon.

Or you could just run NetLimiter 4. Just use it to restrict the U/L and D/L to 1kb/s until the lobby lags out. Done.

Maybe you should read the topic before you make an arse out of yourself

The thing is after some time other players will join your session, evantually, which will not happen using this method. An interesting approach, indeed, but I wonder if it's safe modifying anything inside of the game folder, what if R* starts verifying cache?

P.S. Why did my thread get deleted?

P.P.S Oh, just saw it got moved to the comment section. Well, seems logical to me.

Nope, it drops the lobby as if it had just happened as it always does eventually. When it drops, you'll have the lobby to yourself until you decide to find a new one.

Member's Only

The solution to the mod problem is car mods.

This is frankly impressive. Thanks for the tip.

Em, not really. While I was playing after lagging out, a few guys joined a couple of times. Happened like 4 times out of 6 lobby drops.

I used netbalancer and limited u/l and d/l of gtav.exe and the other one i think its mainprocess.exe to 1kb/s and the first few times became solo lobby but after the 3rd time this error keeps showing up " unable to determine new host joining a new session".

Edit: nvm it works now

Like I said, this method is PC only, consoles do not allow for that type of modificartion, atleast not that 'easily'.
