Sure, you see multiple jets flying around EVERY single session you join. When they see: " Shaundi has joined the game", they stop what they doing and immediately call all his jet friends, just so you won't deliver your crates. I understand all this jet hate and I know how easy it is to destroy a warehouse sale, but geez it's not like you find decent pilots in every session, and they all want to destroy crates.

While this would still not prevent trolling by those who just wanted to ruin other people's fun, it would make more sense.

 

The largest downside to that would be people quickly coming to the conclusion that if they have to fight off AI plus every other PC in the session for the cargo anyway, why even bother paying 18K for it when they can just steal it for free from someone else.

 

A far better method would be for competing organizations to have to pay 50% of the value of a shipment to be "tipped off" as to where the deal is going down and who will be involved. For example, as soon as a CEO pays to start a delivery, Lester or some other rat texts/calls every other organization in the session saying "Hey, word on the street is that there's a crew trying to move/pick up a package. For a percentage of the value I'll tip you off and tell you where you can try your luck at taking it for yourself". Then and only then would you see the red box icons on the map and have a chance at disrupting it. You would also risk something up front and be able to genuinely profit if you succeed.

Yeah, I think you're onto something. The reason people are so paranoid about having their crates destroyed is because, aside from being so vulnerable, they're already invested in them. And you're particularly vulnerable when you're most heavily invested - during a sale.

The griefer has no skin in the game, at all. It's trivial to lock onto a crate, or the defenseless vehicle carrying them, and destroy it as you whiz by. Trust me, I know. If the attacker is also invested in the cargo, they also have to worry about destroying it now.

In every other GTA game, either the package is indestructible, such as in Capture, or destroying the package is a fail, such as in Contact Missions. Whatever way you want to implement it, destruction of the crates shouldn't be the goal. Having to capture the crates would make the Hydra far less useful because, sooner or later, you're gonna have to get down on the ground. And a Hydra trying to land is as vulnerable as a Cuban 800.

As a side benefit, we wouldn't have to suffer jet griefer's vaunting and preening anymore. Sheesh, you think we don't know why you're in a jet?

Same here, I did it once, saw the payout, it cost me more to destroy stopped doing it now, like to point out not played in months and had no clue what this update was, all it said was destroy crate.

 

 

EDIT: More I think the more I'm confused with regards to King of the Castle and Beast etc, if you stop others then what is the difference? Apart from the obvious being the crates were bought for "money"

Also in Races ramming other players, in free roam picking on low levels who don't have the health or weapons compared to you

Your edit is spot on the money, the CEO thing is a game mode, with winners and losers. People are hating because they are losing, its lame.

If I get somehow involved in a game of Beast, or by the same logic, go into a deathmatch, or get rammed in a race it's my own damn fault for getting done what gets done to me. Hell, even stumbling about in free mode and getting plugged right between the eyes for no other reason than being there. I know I will get Johnny Cashed and get shot just because they wanna see me die and I can prevent that by going into a private session.

I do not consider that any form of griefing. It's the way things go in Los Santos.

Actually, getting my crates blown up isn't griefing because of that same reason. It just sucks a multitude harder because I sunk money into it. Money needs money to grow and you need f*cking grown money to enjoy the finer things in Los Santos. Every damn dollar counts. Added that the point of destroying the crate is practically solely being a dick and that less time can be spent making more money doing yourself what you're ruining for the other guy, it just makes it a little tough to swallow that this whole thing can't be done in a session without other criminals.

I am on the ''Collect'' instead of destroy packages train..It would make a lot more sense and would actually give incentive to stalk CEO's besides being a greifer.

 

I don't really care if some random f*ck decides to rape my packages all day..I would be an idiot,trying to complete anything in a lobby full of 20+ people thinking nothing will happen...You would have to be a fool.

Even if you had backup, a whole warehouse of merch in a plane or truck can be destroyed in seconds by a retard in a jet. That's why most of us are vehemently calling for this to be in invite only.

Maybe your backup could also have jets? Wow too hard to think of that huh?ever thought of the fact that the griefer could be in passive in a jet and attack unexpectedly or go off-radar or even kamakazie into the CEO's merch? It's not as simple as you make it to be, dude, Rockstar made it hard to defend merch on the CEOs end, it's easy as sh*t to ruin the day of other players by causing a practical money sink.

 

Jets can go to passive, but some civilian planes and helicopters are forced out of that option for no reason, ever thought how bullsh*t that is?

Had my action as "smoke cigarette" while on the tug, smoked so much I had cancer, died, and the tug still hadn't made it to the sail boats. Destroyed that bucket of a tug-a-sh*t myself. Lol, i have all of the heist vehicles, ya I'm poor lol right.

I used my tank to not to leave it collecting dust in the pegasus magazine and because i had a bounty on my head, to attract people on me so i can collect some more kills (a helluva more).

Fortunately, there was a delivery going on in the session i was playing, so i took the chance....

 

And yes, Savages and Buzzards, and in particular, Valkyries, are good counter to tanks, but the first two are really easy to blast with the tank if i manage to come close(99% of times i manage to do so).

Did a carnage to choppers with my tank, Valkyries are harder to kill but given they are rare, that's not a problem.
