Why Destroy other Crates?

Same here, I did it once, saw the payout, it cost me more to destroy stopped doing it now, like to point out not played in months and had no clue what this update was, all it said was destroy crate.

EDIT: More I think the more I'm confused with regards to King of the Castle and Beast etc, if you stop others then what is the difference? Apart from the obvious being the crates were bought for "money"

Also in Races ramming other players, in free roam picking on low levels who don't have the health or weapons compared to you

Shipment griefing and the fact its encouraged is easily the worst part about this update (or any update), which, imo, could potentially one of best and most game-changing updates for GTAO. Rockstar purposely made buying and selling crate merchandise a grind and a chore, it doesn't make any sense for them to make it so damn easy for the other players in the session to destroy your hard earned cargo, let alone encourage it, its not right.

I understand that griefing is a part of the game, but crate delivery griefing is on another level compared to mission and pvp griefing. Getting griefed in a mission or pvp is so petty and small time compared to whats at stake with crate buying and selling. I spent a good 7 hours last night doing lone wolf crate collections and I'm sure others have put in a lot more time and money into their collecting. The fact that all of that hard work and investment of time into the game can be undone in literally one second by any random player in the session for almost no pay out to the attacking player is just flat out wrong. The encouragement of attacking shipments either needs to not exist at all or there needs to be some sort of monetary balance so that players who are screwed over so badly from shipment attacks have the opportunity to "Strike back" on opposing player shipments, in order to gain back, at least, a decent chunk of the profit they lost.

Thankfully, I have only lost 3 crates in my hours of work so far, I am extremely careful to gauge the other players in the session and not push my luck in full sessions. I will only take on or offload big shipments in sessions with only a few others or if I find myself alone. In full sessions, I will keep my transactions small to minimize loss. If I had $250,000 worth of cargo destroyed, as described in the OP, I may very well have totally lost my mind...

...and yes, you are a total dickbag, OP. I'm sorry. lol

Destroy a players car, get fined and warned for bad sport.

Destroy a players massive financial investment and hours of gameplay spent, get rewarded by rockstar.

Today was the final nail in the coffin for me. I'll check on the game still to see if they change it but this update really killed it for me.

People who destroy other people's shipments for no personal gain of their own are GITS!

Just like the person I used to share a house with many years ago, who continuously dozed in front of the TV so that no-one else could use it.

He was a major GTA GIT, even back then.

...You're wasting more time and effort to destroy a crate versus you going and getting your own.

This. You're out being a dick for no reason when you could be out making money too.

You're being a dick when you collect a bounty.

You're being a dick when you destroy someone in a Hold the Wheel.

You're being a dick when you kill somebody who is carrying Hot Property.

You're being a dick when you kill someone who is holding a King of the Castle.

You're being a dick when you kill someone who is collecting checkpoints.

...The list goes on. Where exactly do you draw your arbitrary line of morality with each of these scenarios? :dontgetit:

...

Attacking crates may be frowned upon for obvious reasons, but it's still just the game being played exactly as R* intended it to be.

I would be very surprised if R*'s playtesting of this stuff was anything even remotely similar to a public session. More likely it was comparable to a friends or crew session since it's likely all playtesters are friendly IRL.

If their intent was the reality we see, then this is just a huge troll and attempt to drain the bank accounts of suckers. ...

Yeah mate, I'm sure R* doesn't test anything under competitive circumstances - especially stuff designed exclusively for public sessions.

Though i don't destroy crates and stuff and i could care less about it.

You guys can't really get upset, because I was in a session and some guys crate went global and the mission text literally said " Sos and so crates are global, DESTROY THEM"

I see no reason in being upset because its part of the game and you're supposed to do it.

its happened to me, i didn't care.

I think it's more when a jet comes after someone in their Tug boat, then they get annoyed. You can kind of understand too - I mean, what's a poor old boat supposed to do against a fighter jet?

I suppose it's really the game at fault mainly - Rockstar just didn't think they'd have to bother balancing things properly.

It's a sorry state of affairs though.

I agree it's just plain stupid to go and destroy them, it's not even a win-loss as the opps didn't even really win anything. if they would had made it so you would have to steal their cargo and turn it in for a profit it would had more a lot more sense and people would not be able to bitch. It would just be part of the game. What annoys me is that people are actually surprised that they get their crates destroyed in public lobbys, no sh*t what did you expect? Most of the people there are just there for PvP and some sort of challenge to keep them entertained you can't blame them. I can blame you for being naive and not being prepared.

Is this the big, flashing red icon on your minimap?

I've killed a few. I thought interacting with other players is the whole point. I see a big blinking red icon, I assume it's supposed to be a target.

Destroyjng the crates is just for fun it's not about the money it's about disrupting someone else making money

Plus you get ammo

Definitely to be a dick. I just destroyed one warehouse sale because a guy couldn't shut up in his mic, made him lose 700k I guess, it was really funny.

Both of you are the reasons why most of us INTENTIONALLY lag out sessions to do this solo. Go f*ck yourselves. Is there a way to lag out... it Happens to me the odd time, as soon as it does its haul ass to the warehouse to sell the goods.

Invite only/single sessions don't let you work....just fyi

I was in a session with just one other player and we called a truce...got loads of work done....we'd pass each other the odd time and just beep. It was well chilled lol

Streaming HD videos, PornHub, YouTube, any movie will do. It's worked 4 times.

What's the benefit to destroying shipments/crates?

I destroyed a player's tug boat while he was doing a large $250,000 warehouse sale (which he got very angry about.. booo hoo), but it only gave me $2000. So why the hell did Rockstar even bother letting players intercept these transactions? It seems like the only benefit to stopping a sale is to be a dick. I only attacked thinking I would get 50% of the haul, but instead, got about as much as I would have gotten just robbing a liquor store.

The main reason to go after other peoples crates would be the fact that the game encourages that by showing the red transporting icon and telling you to disrupt other CEO operations by destroying their crates and also by paying you cash, ammo and rp for destroying their crates.

I dont do this however as I also find it abit sour due to the time it can take to fill the warehouses up, but I have destroyed quite afew crates for revenge purposes and will continue to do so. Today someone killed me when I had the peace sign up outside office and then 5 minutes later he was taking cargo to his warehouse just as I was in ghost organisation. Boom hit with a sticky trap right outside his warehouse.

Mad I'm guessing? I just did that once but then I realized it's not worth it so I stopped.. all you guys want is easy money, no challenges at all. It's freemode baby, not a f*cking playground, if someone wants to destroy your crate then what's the problem? Just step up your game

I'm forced to drive an unarmed Brickade/Tug/Cuban 800 around, and you have a fighter jet armed with rockets and explosive cannon.... please explain how i might "step up my game" to combat your griefer ass?

Did it need to be in a jet??? A Buzzard can easily shoot down a Cuban/Tug and a Brickade, if you don't have good air support don't complain about your stuff getting destroyed. If you see someone in a jet, tell your bodyguard to get a jet and distract him until you deliver your crate.

Nahh I like to mess around with annoying players on a mic, priceless reactions.

Well this session was supposedly "Chill" but i had just joined so I had no idea. I just saw a tugboat and took it out and he got mad saying "This was a chill server!"

Here's the problem with that logic... players can join whenever at any time, so you are NEVER safe even if you make a truce with as many players as possible. You need to be absolutely prepared when you do a sale. You need jet support and helicopters and blocker cars. We do that whenever we make a sale and take out at least 4 players nearby just to ensure they don't try anything. We have a 95% success rate and have made quite a bit of money.

If you want to sell your crates, you sure as sh*t better be defending yourself, because players will jump at the chance to screw you over.

"We do that whenever we make a sale and take out at least 4 players nearby just to ensure they don't try anything."

So your solution to controlling potential threats is to aggro them in the first place.

Logic isn't your forte at all.

Yeah, and if the person in the antagonising jet sees your bodyguard get into a jet, their attention is now on your bodyguard who'll destroy your bodyguard's Jet while rising up in hovering before he/she even presses right d-pad to go jnto jet mode. And after destroying your bodyguard, his attention is back to you.

Think before you post you f*cking dumbass.

I always do air support when my CEO drives the unarmed vehicle.

I am pleasantly surprised though, that things like peaceful coexistence lobbies exist. There is no profit in disrupting the operations, except for being a dick, that is. Rich and bored will probably do that.

Dicks that disrupt the peace are a exception so far.

The appearance of hackers is a matter of time, though, this is why lagging out of lobby will become popular.

Be prepared to be vote kicked.

You lose in a room filled with the majority of CEO's that have the same common goal and that is to collect crates and they have associates. You can be easily booted. Peace out.
