Lijpe
Hey, I formatted my laptop and when I tried to connect with SAMP nothing just appeared. I tried those common things such as trying to run it as an admin etc. But that didn't work. Gotta find a solution as soon as possible, thanks. lil weasel
You reinstalled the game, and it Played without the SAMP modification. Then when you installed the Mod the game will not connect... Compatibility Mode, Deleted the gta_sa.set file IF it exists... Not running Windows 10 OS... Edited June 11, 2016 by lil weasel
Lijpe
gta_sa.set doesn't exist yet as I never went IG. I use Windows 7 Professional. I didn't re-install the game; I re-installed Windows 7. Then when I took a GTA SA copy from my USB I couldn't play it.
lil weasel
Do you have a proper connection with STEAM to validate the game. STEAM must connect to a downloaded game for it to run. It is part of the Anti-Piracy system. OR reinstall from the DVD.

Fooking Rekt
We don't support pirating here. Please buy the game and see if the problem still exists.
lil weasel
Of course you do. The question is: IS it connecting to STEAM to get the validation to run? Did you have Windows 7 "Professional" before? I remember others having problems with that version. There is also the matter of is the game in the OS Registry? If you just copied it from the Flash drive it may not have the proper Registry entries. Another reason to Reinstall. Lijpe
Yes I had the same Windows before & everything was perfect running. But after I formatted my laptop I just couldn't enter GTA SA. I never bought GTA SA before and I could use it properly. But now I can't, no idea how. I already re-installed it like TONS of times.Plus if I even bought it off Steam why would I come here instead of Steam forums? lil weasel
Since the game worked before on the same machine OS. Since the game has been re down loaded from the purchase site. Since the game does not have a gta_sa.set file to delete. Since the game is properly registered with STEAM. Since the game is connecting to the STEAM account to verify it is legit, each time it is started. Since the game does not now work even without the modification to run SA-MP. I have no clue as to what is causing your problem. FRANKLINCLINTON2

And also, normally you lock any Help & Support topics with peope using pirated games, so why not this one too?
lil weasel
You did not indicate that you pirated the game. A few players have copied their games to Flash Drives as "backups" for modding purposes. If you bought a Down Load (no matter from where) it would have a requirement to open a STEAM account. Example on the Amazon site ($14.99 PC) it says, "*Requires Steam Client to activate. Steam key only valid in North America." Since the reissue of the game for Down Load it has required a STEAM account to validate the down load, each time it is played. Some people have problems with this and use the STEAM boards to fix it Pirated games have four problems. 1. No profit to Rockstar that Rockstar can use to finance new games. 2. Pirated games do not (many times) have all the files to run the game properly. Usually Audio. 3. Pirated games may contain Trojan horse malware/virus. The game is a popular lure. 4. The breach of security to avoid STEAM registration, or the lack of the Disc as a "key" to run the game may have faulty programing code that causes problems running the game. These defective codes make it near impossible to sort out what the correction is. So Buying the Real (untampered) game is the only fix. That is why when a person having problems with a Stolen game needs to be locked, else helpers end up going in circles with no possible fix to be found.
