Solo CEO Tips from the Goat

Grumpy-Goat-

A few things I have implemented to make my CEO adventures more profitable and or safer (I have done the vast majority of my CEO work solo and these tips are based on this style of play). I have 5 warehouses and I've sold 3 of them off by myself using simple methods. Here are my tips:

-When flying a chopper back to your office land on the roof. You can then leave again to the roof on foot without having to spend 3k to call one back again. Skip the cut-scene landing and save your $. This should work on all the rooftops, although the Maze bank can get a little crowded at times.

-If collecting cargo in a full lobby we all know there is a timer until your enemies can see your cargo. If you want to run "off the radar" or "ghost organization" don't do it until that timer is about to show your cargo locations. Get the most out of those perks for time by waiting as long as you can if you decide to use them.

-In addition to the above tip: If driving a vehicle with 3 crates in it this is especially useful, because if you're not a horrible driver you can get anywhere on the map pretty well within the Ghost organization time frame.

-Assess your cargo pick up zone if it's static before going in. This should be self explanatory... don't walk into an alley. Yes, it's a trap.

-Multiple warehouses guys. Buy them. Many reasons for this, and threads discussing why. For collecting the main reasons are: avoid cool-down times, and various locations. This avoids monotony for you and keeps other players guessing where you are going to deliver! If you only have one and folks see you constantly running to the same one, they will figure it out and camp your warehouse. Keep them guessing! Coupled with off the radar and ghost, they'll never know where you are headed.

-Don't f*ck with other CEO's. Everyone knows the CEO work is tedious and a long term investment, once you break even on investment it pays out extremely well. The unspoken common ground of a lot of CEO's is live and let live, or even help one another out.

-If you are going to be playing with associates, be sure to do more than just run cargo. Do some VIP missions with them so they keep getting paid. We all hope R* is going to fix their payouts, but until then keep your associates happy so they can join the CEO ranks themselves.

-Your assistant doesn't affect the timer for the mechanic and vice versa. Keep this in mind if you like to call in vehicles a lot. You can use this to your advantage.

-My best tip for collecting is this: Always, always, always use a chopper when you can collecting cargo. Folks you do NOT have to get out of the buzzard to pick up a package! You can just touch the driver area of the buzzard to the package and pick it up! This works amazingly well for when your cargo pick ups are at sea! Use the damn helicopter people!

That's all I got for now. Hope it helps some!

FYI you can land on your office via cutscene and exit via roof and the buzzard will still be there.

But this will not happen everytime.

Once I landed the buzzard via cutscene on the Roof, I left the Office by entering the Roof, but the buzzard spawned on the streets.

Even the opposite happened. landed on the streets, entered the Office, left the Office to the streets and the buzzard spawned on the Roof.

I think it has more to do with who else is using the helipad than which method you enter by. I've never lost one in a solo session when using the cutscene entry.

I agree. In what must now be hundreds of times I've gone to the roof of my office my buzzard has almost always been where I left it.

The 4 or 5 times it wasn't there was when someone else was in the same building (Maze Bank West). Even then it's usually just down at ground level.

My normal routine is find a lobby with mostly CEOs or with no-one in, arrange a one-crate run, go to ground level and call a free CEO buzzard, collect while monitoring if the lobby is friendly. I'll usually do sightseer then return to my helipad. If all went well I'll vary the amount of crates and repeat.

Also, am I losing money by being killed by the police? (this could be a stupid question, but I've not noticed)

If not, it seems incredibly easy to just get shot as quickly as possible, so that you instantly respawn nearby without a wanted level. Even if the cops are still there they don't bother you. I still call Lester once in a while but, if there's no cost, this is also a good method.

pretty sure its only -$500

totally worth it to die and lose a wanted level easily

i've been doing this, as the cops make your run a lot longer.

I agree, i always get my Buzzards. As OP mentioned, the annoying 'get out to the sea' mission is quite easy with the chopper.I do the jobs usually alone so it's important to me to save time. First time i made the mistake to use the Dinghy. The NPC's killed me like 20 times and it's quite annoying. Just fly there, keep distance and first kill the 2 seashark NPC's then the ship.Carefully touch the water surface to pick up crates,if u fail, kill yourself to spawn in a seashark to get the package/beach it and spawn a CEO buzzard to do it over again.Note that sometimes an enemy buzzard spawns which can kill u unexpectedly (once he did so and crashed itself into the sea)

Another annoying solo mission is to destroy the Choppers or Valkyrie . Use the Buzzard or homing missiles by feet, and if the thiefs parachute, fly below them to shred them with the blades

Abuse Bullshark testosterone when surrounded by the terminator AI.

Seriously Trevor's ability for one minute is plenty of time to wreck carnage.

Don't forget you can call Lester to get rid of the cops. This ability does work in the cargo runs. However, it does not work in VIP work (at least in the ones I've tried it in).

+1 million to the "use Buzzard for sea pickups". I tried that myself after two missions with a dinghy and man it was so much easier.

The one new thing I'd like to add is this... If you can fly into the area where your pickup is without getting any lock-on tones, and you land and can walk up to the pickup vehicle and the doors are still closed and nothing has been stolen...be very suspicious. Take another look around. Do you see any vehicles parked nearby that look slightly out of place? Do you see any other vehicles at all? Maybe a Stanier, or a Granger? Yeah, take a closer look at those. People sitting inside them? Light bars inside the windshields? It's a trap!

The easiest way to deal with this, in my opinion, is with sticky bombs. Sure, you could shoot the cars, or throw grenades or launch rockets. There are lots of FUN ways to deal with this, but if you want QUICK and EASY instead, just use sticky bombs. But don't throw them at the cops! That will get you an instant wanted level and start them all coming after you. Instead, throw a sticky bomb on the ground NEXT to each car. Remember there should be three total: two Staniers, and one Granger. When you detonate them, the waiting cops will all be destroyed, and you won't even get a wanted level! Then you can just drive off with the pickup vehicle with no further hassle at all.

anyone else thinking of downgrading their apts with 10 car garages down to just 10 car garages, since apartments are useless now since yachts and offices. will give you profit too.

Good idea in theory, but I like the locations of my apartments, and there are no garages in locations I'd like. Edited by JRebbert512

I know the tip I gave in the previous post is pretty self-explanatory, but the situation came up while I was soloing tonight so I decided to save a recording and upload it just to illustrate it.

I am not a YouTuber and this is just a simple game capture video, I didn't add any narration or demands for likes and subscribes; I have no sponsors and get nothing if you view this.

My Tip:

If you are doing sell alone (ar have to do it alone because no friend is online) u can:

start a mission and when u see that it's not the one which fits u just close application/change session. U will start with 3 packages less which u need to collect and start the sell from the beginning. The mission sells are random so there will be other one then the previous. U Can also quickly close application while dying during the sell so it will not save (simmilar to CM way).

Not picking on your English, but this isn't what random means - a dice is random but you can roll 10 3s in a row. Is it definitely guaranteed that you won't get 2 identical Sell missions like this? What about Titan and then Cuban? Or always different delivery vehicle if you reset?

Cheers

Is there anyway to get around having to do the plane deliveries that have enemy helicopters chasing you? I keep hearing that one's near-impossible to do solo.

Some say yank the cord as soon as you see "go to LSIA" (I believe with a 3-crate penalty), others say scout ahead in a Buzzard (I'd go Hydra) after activating the drops, yet others recommend just landing and dealing with them as soon as you see the blips.

In any event make sure you buy the plane upgrades.

Earlier today while playing solo I decided to sell a full large warehouse. I'd done that solo once before with no problems. This time I was told to go to LSIA, so I was a bit trepidatious, but decided to chance it. Turned out a Titan was the delivery plane, which I've never experienced before and wasn't aware could happen. Anyway, it was one Titan with ten drops for the full warehouse.

The first enemy helicopter appeared around the third or fourth drop, but it only followed me; it never fired on me, as far as I could tell. I was going full throttle the whole way.

A second enemy helicopter appeared around the ninth drop, and this one did fire at me, doing some minor damage. But I kept going. The left side engines started to sputter slightly, but I knew the Titan is a tough plane (I've taken off in one with two engines stalled and on fire), so I kept going and successfully completed the drops.

Hmm hard to tell but every time when i changed the session or quit the application before failure a had different type of sell. Never had two times in a row plane, boat or truck.

Oh and another tip from me:

- when u have mission to snipe targets before the seller send u coordinates of the truck don't go on the roof, just start shooting everyone with buzzard or any other weapon u prefer.. the targets will show on the minimap and u don't waste time on climbing roof.
