I like the AP Pistol, but it's only really useful for drive-bys. I like it, but in 2nd place. For killing on foot, the other automatic weapons are better. And I prefer the sniper over everything else because it's my favorite weapon. I can kill people without getting too close to the action, so I'm safer, it's one of the few weapons minimally effective against jets, most of the times it's a one-shot kill, it looks awesome, it has great range, etc.

I don't like the first person dancers either, but I don't blame the sniper, I blame them. And they usually use the marksman rifle anyway. The Heavy Sniper requires a bit of skill unlike most other lock-on weapons.

The Advanced Rifle is a tried and true fav for me. The SC has the better look/sound, but the AR's higher rate of fire + higher damage = I kill people quicker using the latter. This is one of my "defaults" due to its versatility in a variety of situations/ranges/etc.

Nacho Z made a good point about not judging the gun for how it's used in the case of the Heavy Sniper. It performs quite well for what it is, and that's all well and good, but first place it does not deserve.
