Kinda a nitpick but... (spare tires)

Why do spare tires not reflect the the tire choice you use on your car?

The most extreme case I can think of to example what I'm talking about would be the Dubsta 6X6, but this applies to all cars with spare tires.

So I go to Warstock and buy a 6X6, I give it a Outback look with the spare tire on the hood. I then change my trucks rims to, lets just say Off Road style with Mudslinger rims.

Why is it then, that the 6X6 spare tire is still a ordinary road tire with the El Jefe rim design?

I never got this why spare tires are locked. I mean what's the difference between a spare tire and your vehicles drive tires?

I know many will look at this as nothing, but I'm sure there are car guys out there that likes every detail perfect that can agree with me on this.

I don't tend to change the wheels on any cars that carry spares for this reason, which is a shame because although it's self-imposed, it feels like there are less customization options for those cars.

I suspect it's because the 'spares' are actually part of the main body model of the car and not objects in their own right within the game engine. The wheels on cars in this game are probably physics-driven/affected assets and imported separately. That's possibly why we only see one wheel on the cars in leaked vehicle pics.

I do wish we could switch the spares though :)

There's a new champ btw - the Rumpo Custom (unless you put a spare on your D2 hood).

Because it's a spare and not a main tire? (I mean, that was probably the logic Rockstar used when making it a part of the vehicle model like someone else said)

Do people really spend a lot of money on a fancy spare tire in real life? Seriously asking, I have no idea.

In real life the majority of spare tires are either (A) tucked away actually underneath the box of a pick-up truck, or (B) are secured in the truck of a car. Most real life cars don't have viable spare tires.

However this is GTA where many cars has visible spares and half the player base are millionaires if not billionaires.

I don't think real world really applies here. Lets face it, if you was as rich in real life as in GTA, you'd damn well be as picky as you'd please to be. lol

Exactly, I've spent R$680 on a set of "13 wheels for my Fiesta but my spare still is the 20 years old factory original steel wheel, mainly because spare tyres are meant to be used as a emergency replacement, you are not supposed to drive with it everywhere.

So with this in mind, I can see R* reasoning for not changing the spare tires(basides the fact that the spare tire is considered a part of the bodywork of the car and not wheels in the game).

I don't really mind this, but honestly, an option to change wouldn't cause any harm...

I used to tell myself the spares were spacesavers, but nowadays if the spare's on display I hate if it doesn't match. So I usually end up running El jefe's on 4x4's.

Little oversight on R*'s part, I bet loads of people would be willing to pay extra GTA$ to have a different spare rim design.

Spare tires aren't supposed to reflect your main tires...

Not even in real life, do they...

The Spare Tire is simply a cheap "temporary" wheel that has been included with your car, by the Factory that built it.. and is usually the cheapest and smallest sized tire that is possible for your type of vehicle.

Yes and no. My AMG spare is a narrower but perfect replica of the normal wheels.

They do on serious off-roaders, which is every GTA car with spare tires other than the Stirling GT and Roosevelt (I dont' count the Dubsta because it's a covered spare). A space-saver spare is useless on something like the Brawler or the 6x6. Lots of real life cars, especially older ones and race cars/trucks, have full-size spares.

A lot of cars have full size spares and especially in the custom world, many cars carry full size spares.

Man, it's just a game. If I wanted to carry neon pink dollar sign whitewalls at the back, top or hood of my vehicle, I should be able to. It's just extra customization that we can enjoy.
