Stock Wheels and Brake Calipers

Let's just admit that some stock wheels are absolutely lovely. So why can't we spray them, do you think it'll be added in an update soon? I'd like some of them as an option as well. I think the grey circle in the middle of a wheel should be fixed so we can either make it the same colour as the wheel, or have the manufacturer badge on it like the Reaper.

The Osiris and Bullet GT for example have nice wheels. I would definitely keep them on the Osiris if I could have them in black, the Bullet GT wheels look like they've been stolen for use on the Lamborghini Centenario in real life. Copyright works both ways lol.

Hopefully they add brake caliper painting as well, it's extremely easy for them to add it.

This is probably a pointless thread, but I know at least 1 person will talk to me about it lol.

Painting brake calipers needs to be added. Too many cars have red brake calipers and don't look right on certain color cars. Some stock wheels are nice, and we should be able to paint them.

I guess I am that 1 person.........lol. :colgate:

Yeah I agree lol, calipers and wheel colours really isn't a hard thing to add. It's good adding new cars but there's not a wide variety of nice wheels! Hahaha there can only be one legend ;)

All I need is an ability to paint the calipers. Red ones don't quite fit in classic cars, do they?

Nope! I always put on wheels that have no gaps so you can't see the Big Red Calipers :D

As for brake calipers, it could be complicated. They would have to redo all of the cars, but as for stock wheels I completly agree.

You know why?

Gnocchi Flip Flops

This is something we absolutely need:

- Brake caliper colors on every car

- Interior colors on every car

- The ability to paint all rims

I love the new Bestie GTS but I would kill to have one with yellow brake calipers, matte grey stock rims and a tan interior.

i woud love to paint the stock wheels of the vacca black and put them on the reaper....that woud look neat

also chroming the wheels of the zentorno or painting them black and then putting them on my massacro maybe ?

the stock wheels of the adder, beleve me or not, truely look great to....if i had been able to chrome them, i had kept them on mine

realy, check those 3 wheels out, they truely tickle my creative bone

I agree! Red Brake Calipers looks awful & out of place on my Cavalcade ... I like to paint em black. Also, a V12 Schafter with Yellow ones would be super cool!

Same with the wheels! Some cars have excellent stock wheels, but they need color\finish for that awesome look. The Super Diamond, Cognoscenti, Reaper, FMJ & Bullet comes to mind!

There used to be a glitch to do it via the iFruit app, but they patched it.

& I agree with Scaglietti... We definitely need more cars with interior color options (Man, the Windsor Drop was such an opportunity) .... Not necessarily for all cars (I don't think anyone drives an FQ2 unless they absolutely have to), but for the majority.

Isn't there a glitch to paint stock wheels using the iFruit app?

After quick google search, did anyone try this?:

  1. buy any aftermarket set of wheels in the default wheel Category of your car
  2. change to the color you want the stock wheel to be
  3. leave LSC
  4. in iFruit, find your car in the LSC app
  5. order the stock wheel and confirm the purchase (no Charles breakpoints)
  6. you should get a message from the social club in GTA Online saying your LSC order is ready
  7. drive back into LSC and process the order.
  8. stock wheels should now be painted

I thought we were going to see brake caliper colour options in this update for sure. If you watch the preview closely when you see the green Vapid FMJ the callipers are green. Maybe a mistake in the preview or a hint at things to come.

Only the Verlierer and FMJ have changeable calipers :( yeah the stock wheels glitch doesn't work. I've not seen 1 person with stock wheels painted a different colour. The Reaper wheels look beautiful but nobody will use them as you can't paint them. Only car I left stock wheels is the Zentorno because they're already black

The stock wheel glitch does still work, but only on rims that do not have a stock "chrome" finish. For example the Phoniex still works.

In addition to the Phoenix, it also works on the Ruiner / Granger, Primo (stock) / Seminole, Slamvan (stock), Merryweather Mesa and Insurgent.

The color automatically gets darkened on all of these except the last three. On the ones where the color gets darkened, you can counteract it to some degree by picking a color that's far brighter / saturated than what you want.

Example: using the bright, Race Yellow on the Phoenix's stock wheels will balance it out to a normal gold-looking color.

like so:

01OtRM74BkiGwd5A9rQrmw_0_0.jpg

There might be others, but I'm not sure. There are some cars where it seems like it should work, but doesn't. The Kalahari and Blista Compact, for example.

i wish all the cars didnt come with BBK's (big brake kit) and instead you got the brakes and calipers you see on all the cars when you purchase the highest performance brake kit and that unlocked the ability to paint them. I also wish when newly modeled factory wheels come out it becomes available for purchase in LSC or Benny's. I can't tell you how bad I want the Reapers factory wheels on my Infernus.

Can someone tell me how to do the glitch, or if there's a post about it already link me to the thread that it's in.

I've got my Phoenix sitting in my garage that I've had since launch (my first car) that needs those faded goldish wheels to be complete.

KoingWolf's reply above.

Follow all of those steps while in a session without leaving.

This method used to work on last gen, but doesn't anymore.

It does work on current gen, though.

I haven't used this trick myself in ages, but according to Mach1bud's reply, it still works.

the alloy colored rims look like sh*t, I can't get a uniquely shaded alloy rim for any of my Grottis similar to signature Ferrari rims and I have to be stuck with a chrome rim instead.

Wow I'm glad I say this thread. I was looking at the Vapid FMJ rims and I was like, "THESE WOULD BE SO MUCH COOLER IN BLACK!" Honestly they would, and they would look a lot COOLER in other cars as well. Of course they have to be chrome too but honestly I agree with the op.

On PS3 I was once creating a replica of the blue gang Sultan from GTA IV. The stock Sultan wheels are basically the same as they were in IV so I really wanted to keep them but obviously I needed to change their colour as they are a sort of dark gold... And I actually managed to do it!

First, I bought the cheapest wheels available and painted them. Then I reverted to the stock wheels and I found that the stock wheels would then be painted, but in a much darker shade of the colour. So after a little trial and error, I ended up with a bright yellow or orange which resulted in a shade just right for the Korean gang's vehicle.

I don't know whether this was a well known glitch, or something exclusive to the Sultan, but it didn't work the last time I tried it on PS4.
