Bugged custom license plate?

With the last update I don't see the possibility to change to a custom plate in LSC. Also the iFruit is acting odd.

Mine was doing the exact same thing! I had3 plates and I couldn't use any. I had to recreate another plates but the thing about it is you can't recreate any of the others because of the naming convention. It can't be the same name. FML! It drove me insane until I just made another one.

 

I also couldn't delete the plates from the iFruit app either....annoying to say the least.

I only could change plate in iF for 100k per car, also no ability to change the "permanent" plate which you can buy later on every car (b4 patch as now i can't install any custom plates)

same thing is happening to me, glad i'm not the only one. what I did to get my old plates back was order a *new* license plate on a car i don't use via ifruit then don't get that order fulfilled. just leave it and you will have your old plates enabled via LSC plate section for any car. hope this helps.

I'm running into problems with the ifruit app as well. I noticed it while I was customizing some of the new cars from the F&F update and tried to put in an order for my custom plates.

 

When I try to order ANYTHING it forces me to the plate menu. I don't have the option to make a new plate and when I try to do anything it just gives me an error:

 

Clicking the "Garage" or "Customize" buttons = "You must set your first license plate to continue"

Trying to make a new plate or delete one = "Please set your first license plate and make an order with it to enable adding and removing new plates"

Trying to click any of my other plates besides my first one = "Please set your first license plate and make your first order before trying to use another"

 

 

The work-around:

 

The only thing I found that works is clicking the plate at the top of the plate screen (in between the "new plate" and "delete plate" buttons) and typing in something new and hitting the "Customize" button.

 

It should give you a message that says "Your plate was changed successfully." Once you exit out of that message you get a longer one, then exit out of that and hit the "Customize" button again. It should take you to the customize screen this time. Hit the "Order" button and it'll give you a message that says "You can only change your license plate once; are you sure you want to continue?" Hit yes (don't worry, nothing actually sticks).

 

You should then be on the receipt screen. You can either order this new plate or if you wanted your original plate (the one you just changed), then just hit "Cancel" and click the "Plates" button at the bottom of the screen. You should be able to click the "new plate" button (the square with a plus sign) at the top left of the screen now. Hit it and type in whatever you want your plate to be (like your original plate for example) and hit the "Customize" button again. Then hit the "Order" button and it'll give you the same "You can only change your plate once, blah blah blah" message, Just hit yes and click the "Accept" button on the bottom of the screen.

 

You should get your order in game and can change your plates!

 

 

A couple important things:

 

1. The only "gliched" plate is your original one (the first one you ever made). Once you order the plate, all your other plates (your 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc.) become available for free as long as you stay in that session. Your original plate won't show up though.

 

2. Unfortunately, if you want your original plate or a new one that you didn't make before ifruit glitched out then you have to do the work around I detailed above for every car you want it on and you'll get charged 100k every time.

 

3. If you just want access to your 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc. plates and don't want to pay 100k then just do all the steps and send an order, but once you get the in-game message to take your car to LSC, drive in and cancel the order (I think it's the X button Xbox). Your extra plates should still show up, your original won't though (see #2).

 

4. Even though it look likes you're overwriting your original plate and making new ones, none of these changes actually save after you order. Everything goes back to how it was before you started the method.

 

5. Every time you want to change plates you have to go through all the steps again. Tedious, but the only method I've found so far until R* fixes the app.

got the same issue too. Plate changes into random letters after i ordered my custom plates on ifruit.
I hope there's more conventional way to do it like in-game menu or something, sheesh

Idk, I'm not getting any issues. I just bought a custom plate, came out correct.

I'm having the problem. Got charged 100k for a plate that didn't apply too. R* support hasn't answered.

Custom plates have always been iffy for me on the PC version; they'll show up on a few of my cars, but on the majority they won't until I order any upgrade through iFruit. One work around I've seen is that as long as you have an active iFruit order that hasn't been fulfilled, custom plates will always show up in LSC for any car. What I did was pick a vehicle I don't plan on ever modifying (in my case, my Khamelion) and order some random upgrade, and never took it to LSC. So far, after doing that, custom plates have remained available.
