What is the point of owning multiple warehouses?

I have 3 small and 2 large. I keep the 3 small warehouses full.

Does the value incrases on those 3 small being full or do they still sell for roughly 240k? Im kinda hoping if you filled a second it goes to 280k and 3 for 320k etc. Then it would be worth buying more

They seem to be independent, but the small ones being full distracts attackers from the large ones. I get a lot of special items also.

Some good ideas here, the evading of the cooldown timer makes great sense.

Ay first thought I figured you could choose to what warehouse you wanted to deliver to, but that doesn't seem the case.

Thanks everybody for replying.

this!

i get back to the office and the cooldown says 3min. i can get a whole crate to the other warehouse in that time if i am lucky. way better than any vip work!

gonna buy a third warehouse aswell, got small and large and going for medium. all close to the office.

Owning multiple warehouses is a good idea in this sense; you're able to constantly collect crates with no "cool down". Collect, back to the office, collect back to the office etc. Interspliced of course with lobby kills when you're provoked. Basically, it provides you and your gang with plenty activity, if you're into that sort of thing, which I am.

**I didn't initially see Diana's post. But yeah, I've basically echoed her reason.**

What is the incentive to own multiple warehouses?

The greater the quantity of stock you have in your combined warehouses the greater the prices you can sell at, as well as the greater risk in being attacked by NPC gangs.*

Think of it like a game of monopoly, sure you can get some quick cash now by focusing on the short term, but you can make one hell of a lot more if you think bigger and long term.

It also wouldn't surprise me if Rockstar have 15-25% bonus weekends for selling stock at some point in the near future, so having 5 fully stocked warehouses would give you an immediate advantage in such an event. That said, they'll also likely have discounts on warehouses too so if you're low on cash the short term stock and drop strategy would be a better until you can get a warehouse at a discounted price.

This would make sense if true, but I've yet to see anyone sell a full Large for more than $2.2m. When I tested by adding stock to a second warehouse my main stock didn't change in price.

The fuller your warehouse, the bigger the chance it gets raided by NPC's. You might lose 10% of your stock. And that sux balls.

When you buy crates, you can only deliver them to 1 warehouse, right?

Correct, you can only deliver the crates to the warehouse you placed the order through.

I have two. Once I finish a buy mission for one I don't want to wait for the cooldown, so I start the other. Then I do the same again.

Say you and 3 friends like to do this stuff all together, well multiple warehouses means you can stock up on crates by yourself or with a friend while waiting for your other two to get online and then all 4 of you can do sell missions back to back without having to do buy ones.

I also have a good feeling that either R* just let us buy multiple ones so people wouldn't complain about it right out of the gate...

...or they're planning on letting us dedicate single warehouses to specific goods to allow us to increase payouts slightly when it comes time to sell the same way we could shoot down smuggler aircrafts and the payout grew from 2k to 47k. That's a speculation though.

large warehouse for normal crates, small warehouse for special crates

Got a call to buy a special item but my large warehouse was full, so i bought a small warehouse to store it.

Lost money doing this but i was curious.

got a seceond call when my large warehouse had 110 items but i still brought it to my small warehouse.

How do you get the special item? I got a message from my assistant to get to the office quick but don't know what to do next. Can you elaborate on how it work?

You go to the computer as usual, and it'll say "Special item" in place of the 1-crate option; it'll have a higher price as well.

Edit: nvm, replying to a minor necrobump. THANKS Lester-alike.

The current warehouse system isn't quite right and should be adjusted in future updates. The point of having five warehouses spread around the map is to have multiple choices of where to store your goods, but it doesn't work like that - you HAVE to deliver the goods to the designated warehouse. For example, your crate pickup is north of the map so you should be able to deliver the crates to the warehouse in Vinewood because it's nearest, or if the crate pickup is in the docks, deliver to a warehouse in that area.

Why else would you have multiple warehouses across the map? The max you need is two large ones (if that) to get around the cooldown timer.

Some people just like collecting tons of pointless sh*t that they never use (see 6th garage thread). Actually, that gives me an idea: imagine if you had raids on garages, and cars you hadn't used in x weeks got stolen.

Glad I'm done with this crate sh*t, already hit my goal crossing the 1000 mark ( gold trophy looks like sh*t btw) anywho, I did it with 1 large and 1 small close to each other. Almost 0% cool down when you have 2. G.L.

This. How are so many of you not seeing this?

Because you burn money just flipping between the two. If you have one, buy a crate drop, collect all crates and then go do a headhunter mission, you get $20k and your timer resets. Buying 3 crates cost $18k so you are making a $2k profit for every crate purchase.

Except that VIP work has cooldowns as well with a longer cooldown for the same job and a shorter one for any other VIP work.

I can deliver to a warehouse, do Headhunter, and still have time left on the cooldown for that same warehouse.

When you have associates running around the city instead of coming back to the office it cuts tons of time out of the delivery, so you can have them make 2 or 3 deliveries before the timer is up on the first warehouse.

If your goal and focus is on deliveries (for the trophy or whatever) instead of income, you can have associates do a few dozen deliveries and then host a PacStandard finale and give them all big cuts. That might be more $/hour for them than doing VIP work between crates; but I haven't timed it, myself to say.

I just have two warehouses: the Derriere Lingerie (medium) one that's a block from my office and Logistics Depot (large) that has great access for vans and helicopters. The only warehouse that you can purchase and make a profit with one filling is Wholesale Furniture (large), but I haven't needed it to drop $1.9M on a third warehouse when solo'ing crates means that the timers aren't a factor with just two.

You invest money. In the long term, your time is better spent flipping between warehouses than alternating between crates and CEO work. This was proved in a giant thread that I can't be arsed to look for.

Owning more than 2 would be helpful if you could buy your cargo and take it to any warehouse. Take it to the closest one once you steal it.

Who reopened this burnt scab? I mean when the DLC first came out, I get it. It's 3 months later.

Buy 5 mfn warehouses and use every single one of them.

That's for the crate grinding people who don't want to sell every 8-16 crate missions.

I have 2 large and 3 medium.

Note to self though, you can't downgrade the size of your warehouses after you've bought another one. For example. I can't buy a small warehouse and replace one of the three mediums or 2 large I have.

I only see a point in having 2. To avoid the cooldowns. Maybe 3 if you wanted to collect special items in a separate wearhouse.

I have two as well.

One for normal cargo, one for special items. If I deliver a crate too quickly and come back with a timer, I'll just run Headhunter to pass time and fund my next few hauls. Most cases, I spend $0 filling a warehouse by doing CEO/VIP Work and with the sales of Dubsta2's inbetween which leads to just 2.2m profit without spending anything to get it.

I don't see myself buying 3 more large, medium or small warehouses. 2 is more than enough.
