The malibu club fire

Vice City:

The Malibu Club, recognized for it's trendy 80's hits, fine drinks, almost-naked bar tenders and guest appearances by the Village People, was the scene of a horrific tragedy last night caused by fire.  "Groups of people could be heard screaming from the inside and visions of people burning can be seen through the windows...it was awful," says Vice City Fire Chief.

At first, many thought the cause of the fire was pyrotecnics going wrong for the band.  Fire trucks and police rushed to the scene but it was too late to save anyone.

Of all the chaos, it is believed that there were only two survivors....a Malibu Club security guard that was posted outside...and the mad-man that is actually being accused by that security guard as being the arsonist.  Tommy Vercetti of Vice City is wanted for questioning.  The security guard said he ran in to help and saw a mad-man with a flame thrower shooting fire balls and walls of flames at the helpless crowd as they dance.  Many rushed to get out but were quickly crisp as a burnt piece of toast in seconds.  Apparently, the alleged arsonist either ran out the door when nobody was looking hid upstairs until a safe-getaway was available. Police have issued a 5-star emergency for the huge man-hunt going on for this murderer.

Tommy Vercetti is considered armed and extremely whacko.

What sick joke?

All this comming from people who think it's fun to mutilate innocent civilians with a chainsaw while blood splashes on the screen on a video game? And I'M the sick one?

I think it's fun too.

yes your the sick one

whats sick is mixing in real events with the game and this place. I knew someone who died in the real fire. They were a good friend of my father's. So if you want to tell jokes about it and laff about it then do it somewhere else

Most of us also know someone who's been shot, yet we do it on the game anyway. When you can't decipher the game from reality and get touchy when someone mentions an event, it's time you put the controller away, also, I don't think anyone made you read his topic.

yes, but its wrong to make jokes about something like this. Ya we all know someone whos been shot, I do and it doesn't bother me anymore but nobody makes jokes about a person's specific insodent. If someone told me a real story about his father being shot to death I wouldn't make a joke about it. I wouldn't say to him, "Hey look, see that pedestrian, thats your dad, BOOM BOOM BOOM". No you don't do that. Its wrong and sick. None of you understand what its like to have just lost someone and be very sad about it and then come in here and see this. I've set the Malibou in fire many times and its fun but this really happened and making jokes about it and incorperating it into Vice is sick in my opinion.

Nobody made me read this but thats how I feel about it. And if another person who lost someone in the real fire comes in here and reads this then I hope they understand what I'm saying here. Its a very adult way to look at it and my opinion is moral

There is a difference my friend. No one ever said they shot your friend either. I'm sure some people have turned on the riot cheat to reinact the old 92' Riots, but it means nothing. You saw the name of this thread and one could assume that it was going to be in relation to the recent events, therefore if you had something about it hit a cord in your life, you shouldn't have clicked unless you wanted to start an argument.

woah, you americans are crazy!

According to this thread, it actually happened that a crazy guy came into a club called The Malibu and set everyone on fire?

If that is not the case Vido Corleone, then you don't have to get so upset...

So I know someone who got run down, and 75% of this forum is about either getting run down, or running people down... So I should get angry at every single thread!

It amazes me that someone can take it so seriously  :whuh:

i agree with you vito.. its not cool at all to make jokes about something tragic that happens in a game that also just happened in real life. i think the problem is many of the people on this forum are disconnected from the world and they never even heard about the club fire.. maybe the guy who started this topic didnt know about it either.. many of the people on these forums are immature f*cks who dont know sh*t about anything so they dont care if they make other people feel bad. im willing to bet not many people on this forum personally knew anyone in that fire, but still.. it's not cool to make fun of sh*t like that. i bet noone would go into a school in a video game and shoot up all the kids and post it on a forum the day after columbine happened.. people are just immature, that's all.

When I heard about the fire, I thought the same thing. I never posted it tho, and I refuse to state which side I'm on as all of you make valid and realistic points.

Kicking someone out of the building from g-spotlight and watching them fall to their doom is not terroristic, and does not harm anyone. Even if they mean to do it as a reinactment of 9/11. What I'm trying to say is, the next time you play vice, you'll forget about it all and immerse yourself as most people do, but remember- if there was no boundary between video game morals and life morals, this world would have ceased to exist shortly after atari

oh, BUGGER!

the dude wanted to bring a little humor into our tv/monitor staring lives. and he did cos i laughed. we all know something tragic that happened to someone we knew. such is life: it sucks and then you die. now im not saying that the dude who got offended shouldnt have. it is perfectly understandable.

however, dont jump on a bloke who is just writing an innocent topic that is in no way meant to hurt anyone's feelings or force their childhood trauma to resurface and stab their heart.

i guess what i'm trying to say is, take it easy on the gent. im sure he didnt mean to offend anyone.

cheers.
