Do I need a large warehouse to get all buying missions? Or you can get the same missions with only a small or medium warehouse?

Is there a list anywhere of what buying runs have crates that can be destroyed? I've blown up about $100k worth of packages with my Hydra. Obviously you can't fire a rocket at an RV camper, but you can fire rockets at parachuting thieves and your crates will drop to the ground unharmed.

I've gotten the same missions with my Medium and Large warehouses.

I've also gotten the same missions in the same locations whether it was a 1, 2, or 3-crate order (including missions where the crates have to be collected individually instead of all-in-one-vehicle)

Not that Ive seen, but I have some experience with them now:

  • Heading out to pick up a truck and being ambushed by groups of NPCs: FIB, gangs, etc.
  • Going out to a marquis and having to blow it up to salvage the stuff
  • Finding a crashed plane with the cops checking it out to salvage items from
  • Being blackmailed by your seller and having to assassinate some people before they give you the location to the items. The amount of crates effects the amount of targets.
  • The tracker's being interfered with so you have to search for which car actually has your cargo (though you don't get the automatic lock-on until the right vehicle has been identified)
  • Going to a drop zone and signalling the seller that you're ready with droppable flares.
  • Having some gang members hijack the delivery truck holding the items (And transferring to a police van if it's the LSPD) you're buying so that you have to get it off of them.
  • Stealing a truck from a location (Determined by attackers) that a particular group are guarding.
  • Investigating some attacked vehicles and having to follow a blood trail to find the packages.
  • Having to search location for crates (No blood trails)
  • Having to shoot down choppers and collecting the crates that drop from them.*
  • Interrupting a buy between two gangs that turn on each other.

Crates are safe

I haven't found out if they are safe or vunerable

Crates can be destroyed

Once they are in your possession they can be destroyed.

*= I blew up my own Buzzard and the crate survived, so they may be indestructible in this mission

All can be destroyed, however if you blow up someone (NPC or player) holding the crate it drops it and has to be blown up by a separate explosion.

There is one Buying Mission that is a kind of an Easter Egg...

It is one where you have to go into this little Mansion's Compound and steal their Bank Truck, and the entire thing...

...the mansion

...the compound

...the enemy placement

...the goal placement

...the entrances and exits

...all of it, etc

With the exception of the garage being on the opposite side of the yard, and lack of Cartel Cruisers(6 in the Original), it is a dead ringer for the GTA3 Mission "The Exchange"

CartelMansion.PNG

It is also very reminiscent of another mission on GTA Online(or 5, story mode) but I can't remember which. It all just felt very Déjà vu-ish when I was inside the garage, using the little side door for cover, like I had done this all many times before.(See in the mission I jump over the wall on the right and then use the door on the side of the garage for cover, then enter the garage and take the car. But remember the garage being on the opposite side of the yard in Online from the pic of the Cartel Mansion, in GTA3.)

Maybe someone else knows what I mean, or knows which mission I mean(hell with my drug addled memory I could be thinking of ANY GTA after 2001).

[before 2001 GTA was in bird's eye view, no getting that confuses with this, lol.]

I made a video showing the "Buy Mission" I was talking about here, as well as 2 previous GTA mission reminisent of this "Buy Mission".

This video is showing a Buying Mission that is a kind of an Easter Egg...
...the mansion
...the compound
...the enemy placement
...the objective placement
...the entrances and exits
...all of it, etc
...With the exception of the garage being on the opposite side of the yard(so you drive up the driveway to the right, instead of the left), it is a dead ringer for the Colombian Cartel Mansion(Or what will become the Colombian Cartel Mansion, as it was the "Love Mansion" before the Mission "Love on the Rocks", in GTA Liberty City Stories.)
The mansion was featured at the beginning of the GTA3 Mission "The Exchange", & the GTA Liberty City Stories Mission "Love on the Rocks".
It is also very reminiscent of another mission on GTA Online(or 5, story mode) but I can't remember which. It just all gave me a very Déjà vu feeling when I was beside the garage, using the little side door for cover, like I had done this all many times before.
See during the buy mission I jump over the wall on the right side of the yard and then use the door on the side of the garage for cover, then enter the garage to reach objective. Now if you remember that the garage is on the opposite side of the yard in Online from the Cartel Mansion, in Liberty City(GTA3/GTA:LSC.) But other then that, causing me to exit to the right, instead of the left, and the lack of Cartel Cruisers, lol, it is really a dead ringer. Don't y'all think?
Maybe someone else knows which mission(s) I mean(hell with my drug addled memory I could be thinking of ANY GTA after 2001).[before 2001 GTA was in bird's eye view, no getting that confuses with this, lol.]

Yesterday I was buying one crate. I had to steal a journey from a place near the docks. I just had to drive it to my warehouse without any resistance

Once the Lost had seized the truck and were holding out in the chapter in LS.

Quite fun, and it's a chance to drive the elusive Lost Slamvan. But you can't store it, so bummer on that.

Yeah I was so annoyed with myself when I blew up the slamvan, would have been nice to drive around in this again. I miss my slamvan!

9. Having to search location for crates (No blood trails)

Just had a new variation (for me) of this: Lost Burritos and Daemons in the alley between "Discount Hosiery" and "Auto Repair Parts and Spares" just west of the Rooftop Rumble building. Crate and surviving enemy are up the ladder on the roof of the auto repair shop. Enemies then chase you in 2 Huntleys.

I've had that a few times at a house east of the observatory. After a crate there are 1-2 cars that chase you. If you have to make trips because you're solo, there are fewer cars that chase you (but some may spawn during an empty-handed return-trip). If you fly you aren't bothered by the goons in the cars

I followed someone who was bravely attempting a Tugboat sale run in a freeroam session, and found you can sail the Marquis after they've delivered to it. The tug explodes and sinks after a short while though (Titanic moment)...

No Use For A Name

I just sold 16 crates to Crate Exchange Crates, or something to that effect.

Two Cuban deliveries of 5 crates each, with the last being a restricted area that gives you a 3-star wanted level. In the second batch, the assistant said "heavy resistance" and police presence. I didn't want to risk attack helis so I did Blind Eye. Took about 15 minutes

If you get a buying run where the crate-filled Van is in some version of a police lockup, don't waste your money on Lester's Blind Eye. As soon as you get in the van they will attack.

If you get the one that's near the expensive-shopping district, just run over the cop that's standing behind the van. The slope it's parked on is too confined to easily maneuver out of and you might as well deal with 3 stars instead of 2 because there will still be a helicopter chasing you with just 2 stars. Once you have a little distance, call Lester. $600 beats wasting $5000.

I sold a LARGE warehouse yesterday:

1. Go to LSIA and collect the Titan (my friend as associate, flying in a Savage to protect me)

2. Upon take off, I need to fly through 10 drop-off point to drop cargo.

3. At point 3 and 5, there is a npc buzzard waiting for me, and my friend take it down for me.

4. After go through all the points, I landed the Titan at Sandy Shore.

5. Profit!

I think it is totally random. And to increase your chances of survival, you need to invest on the armour upgrade.

If your drop-off point take places allover LS and Blaine County, you can gain more distance by first flying low towards the mountains and raise altitude. Helicopters have a hard time catching up with you while gaining heights.

10. Driving a tug out to the ocean to make the sale, with enemy sea-sharks attacking.

Had a slightly more dramatic version of this one just now: started at the "Bristols" gas works, and featured attacks by 2x Seasharks, 1x Buzzard, 2 more Seasharks, another Buzzard, and yet another pair of Seasharks within sight of the Marquis. A Seashark from the second wave launched itself onto the foredeck of the tug, and spent the rest of the trip glitching and banging all over the place; I was gritting my teeth and hoping to God that it wouldn't explode.

QuicksandSlowly

Hey everybody I just registered because I like this thread (it's the most comprehensive one I've seen so far) and because I think I have something to add.

I think it'd be a good idea to list in the first post what happens if you fail a selling mission. I think if you fail a mission when you're on the last vehicle (say there's 3 vehicles and you've already delivered 2 and the last one gets blown up you lose 1/3rd of what you were trying to sell? Or do you lose it all?

If everything was loaded onto one vehicle and that gets blown up do you lose it all?

I've also experimented with force-quitting out of smaller selling missions. What I think I've observed is that when you force quit you lose 1 crate per vehicle in the mission. So 3 vehicles = 3 crates lost, 2 =2 crates lost etc.

I've tested my theory with a few small and medium sized warehouse sales but I still think it needs more testing.

This might be a good strategy to get rid of an air mission that might have troublesome Buzzards or Savages.

Also in the missions where the police are going to ambush you as soon as you get in the truck you can blow up one of their cars then fly away and lose the wanted level and they won't go after you (even if you shoot at them again after driving away it's pretty funny). It's much better to do this than pay the $$$ to bribe the cops in my opinion.

Thanks everyone and have a nice day!

A player posted that he made 9/10 drops from a Titan then crashed and he lost all 111 crates

With the police-ambush I just walk in, touch the cargo vehicle and let myself die. A couple hundred bucks in medical and then the cops couldn't care less about you. You can get back in the vehicle and flip 'em the bird and they just ignore you (just don't bump one of their cars or pull a weapon). You can blow one of the cops or their car up, but the cargo vehicle isn't invincible and you could obliterate it with a errant shot or even a sympathetic vehicle explosion. Then you're out all the money.

Paying for $5000 Blind Eye doesn't work as they will attack as soon as you touch the vehicle, no matter what.

The CEO bribe may work (I didn't try it) but it's $15,000.

Simply trying to get the vehicle and run is cheapest. but risky as you're usually boxed in and until you get Lester to drop the wanted level you have all those T-1000's turning your van/camper into Swiss cheese. They're durable but not invincible and if it blows up you're out the money anyway.

How many crates are needed to activate the titan delivery mission?

I've had it with a full medium so either 42 or less.
