I have to say there is a significant amount of game play variety now--R* did a pretty good job of addressing that.

 

Still lots of bugs, but so far they seem to be working hard on fixing those too.

 

Credit where credit's due.

 

However, the "return" on player's time and money investment is a different story entirely...

^ The thieves in that Valkyrie headshotted me with both miniguns simultaneously, in a flat-out Hydra from a range far greater than lock-on missiles. They are badass.

Pick up a van in Chumash, instant 3-star wanted level from 'a police ambush'.

 

Phone Lester, drive home.

Funny thing you can actually see it coming. There's an FBI Ranger in the area and you can kill the spawned cops first to get you some breathing room.

 

There's also a gang ambush where they drive two large box trucks to block the exits in a small alleyway. Cool but also easily spotted once it's happened to you.

 

EDIT: Say what about the Valkyrie again? I've shot it down a lot of times without any resistance from the crew inside it with my Buzzard. Perhaps keeping a distance and not aggroing them could help?

Yeah I only do 3-crate buys.

You can get the sea ones with a 2 crate drop. I've done those a few times, each time with 2 crates. I presume you still can with 1 but as yet I've not come across it. However I've not done that many single crates and there is a lot of crate locations.

On the topic of the people you sell to possibly effecting the method of selling. I'm about to do a full medium warehouse to Ameropean Partners, we got 3 trucks. I'll make a record of everything I do to see if there is a pattern.

1. Heading near lester's warehouse to pick up a truck and being ambushed by groups of npcs: FIB, other gans, i.e Vagos, Triads etc.

Been ambushed at vesupucci beach by the mask store and been ambushed behind franklins old singleplayer home too.

Probably my favorite ones cause its fun seeing them all hiding waiting for me to try to grab the truck. I think the Vagos had an incospicously parked semi just waiting to block one of the exits

Actually had a reason to bust out my Dodo. Was doing the mission where we had to blow up the boat and collect 3 crates, but I only had 1 assistant. To have some fun we busted out the Dodo to make it more exciting grabbing the crates out of the water.

 

A fun idea if you ever have that option come up.

I just did a 3 crate buy job but only had to deliver one van to the warehouse. Had to take out a good few NPCs but no back and forth collecting 3 crates.

 

$18k to buy with a sell price of $65k.

 

Maybe a lot of this is random? Or there is loads and loads of variety?

If it has this kind of complexity to gather crates, why the f*ck would they think we need others prick players to mess with it? It seems to be a fun thing to play with friends, sort of a refresh from contact missions.

I'm pretty impressed with the range of pick up and delivery missions too - even playing in an 'empty' public lobby is still fun because of the variation (they're all still fetch quests, but a mix of land, sea and air really helps). Even had a few collections go smoothly without incident, which is nice to have once in a while!

 

Because while they're the same fetch missions that our contacts gave us, at least now they papers at the parking lot are for ourselves, not Madrazo.

 

I'll grind the 20ish different pickups and not be upset considering I've spent 2.5 years grinding the contact missions.

If it has this kind of complexity to gather crates, why the f*ck would they think we need others prick players to mess with it? It seems to be a fun thing to play with friends, sort of a refresh from contact missions.

 

Because there's less rewards, and the concept they're driving towards is encouraged, but balanced, PvP. That's why there's only certain options under SecuroServ, and if we didn't have to worry about Pegasus-abusing jackholes it would be infinitely more fun in pubs with lots of Orgs operating concurrently.

Yeah that's what I meant by the lake, It's next to the place called likeside or lake view or something. I used that one for some snapmatics.

I got something to add though, sometimes when you shoot down the helicopter that steals your goods and it's Merryweather, the passengers jump off and open up parachutes, each one with a crate of your goods.

 

This one's fun since you can kill them with your chopper's blades if you're using one. And it's recomended you take down all the merryweather guys before collecting a crate since they can get really far from each other!
