Special Crate/Special Item Appreciation & Discussion Thread

^^^ This is correct. Once you hit six special items you won't get anymore. These ones sold for 675k

So thats why I havent been able to fill my warehouse with special items, there goes my plan for filling up a large warehouse with only special items. IIRC mine had a value of 800k, if I'm not mistaken having special items with regular crates lowers their value.

So with the special items, is there a set number of crates you have to deliver before a special item is offered or is it random?

I've had as low as 25 purchases between Special items and as many as 45, so it is somewhat random.

You can't have more than 6, and no more than one of each item. There was a glitch that cause some normal crates to LOOK LIKE Special Items, but the values didn't change.

There's no option to only sell some of your Special Items out of the same location, it's either all-you-have-in-that-warehouse or none. If you have some stored in different warehouses then you can sell them separately that way, only.

The only downside to having normal and Special Crates together is that the Special ones take up space that could be used by regular ones to make a total-sales delivery more valuable.

I didn't get a single special item since the IE-DLC. I focus on the cars right now but usually also do one or two crate runs during the cooldowns for selling cars. Is it just bad luck for me? Does anyone get offerings for special items missions although mainly focusing on the cars?

I think I had about 100 crate pick-ups between my 4th and 5th special item. Then the 6th came after less than 50 pick-ups.

I have a separate small warehouse only for special items since the difference in selling 111 or 110 crates is surprisingly high.

Just got a call from my assistant re: a special item whilst in my car warehouse after stealing selling vehicles all day, and sure enough, it was my 6th and final special item: the rare pocket watch. I haven't done any crate work for ages, so I don't know what triggered it, but finally I can rest!

got some questions (sorry if already asked):

- which special item is the most valuable?

- is there a way to trigger special items, or to trigger a certain one (most valuable)?

- what happens when your warehouse gets attacked/raided (what/how much do you lose)?

- when is an attack/raid happening (totally randomly or at about 80% of warehouse capacity or whatever)?

- is there a way to avoid such an attack/raid, i.e. by disconnecting immidiately after message (or just switching session)?

Every item is worth the same (correct me if wrong plz), and no, they are randomly assigned.

About raids, i don't know how much you lose, but it's random. Raids don't happen when you're in passive, that's for sure. Don't know about being in MC or unassigned player though.

Raids on MC warehouses can only happen when you are logged in to the MC.

Raids on CEO warehouses can only happen when you are logged in to Securoserv.

12/16 and 33/42 from my experience. Some mexican raided my small warehouse and another time it was the Lost. Take your buzzard and blow them all. But be careful, they're like 90% accurate.

Yes you may eventually lose all your stock if you're not fast enough at killing.

Looks like that.

I make most of my money through create missions and I've only now learn that it can be raided lol, I guess I've had some crazy good luck... So far..

- i have read that there are 6 different special items you can get.

so it should be possible to collect them all, but the most valuable (the golden pocket watch) could be stored in another warehouse than the others.

if you now only sell the golden watch (which is in a separate warehouse) and keep all the other 5 items in the other warehouse it should be possible to get the golden watch again next time.

this way you could "farm" the golden watches which are the most valuable special item.

can anyone confirm this?

- are the attacks really totally random?

someone said that these raids seem to happen when the capacity of the warehouse is at about 80%.

can anyone confirm this?

- how to avoid these attacks/raids?

can you avoid any losses if you just switch session real quick?

or maybe by disconnecting immediately?

This is such a good idea, I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work.

for raids I think if you leave the game without saving it will still remove some product unless you quit during the assistants phone call, IMO it's best to save your product though. I used to buy supplies and get raided quite often after, the few times I couldn't be bothered to save the product I quit the game... I think I did lose some product still, plus when I came back online I was raided again not long after so IMO it's best to just complete it (in a Kuruma or something safe to avoid losing it).

I felt like because I bought supplies for all the businesses the game always wanted me to get raided atleast once before the product bars filled up so that I'd have to do at least one mission before selling. My routine was literally, buy supplies, get raided, do other jobs / have fun, then sell. I don't remember a single time I bought supplies for all the businesses and didn't get raided (I only own coke, meth, weed).

Good idea for the watch! I'll definitely give it a try but it's gonna take a long time to store each special item. I normally sell them ASAP and I rarely get them anymore. Actually I rarely do crates so it makes sense I guess.

I think they're totally random but in my case I only got raided once in the very beginning. It was my medium warehouse which I filled up to 100 % and kept filling all other warehouses. Once I defeated that I filled it up to 100% angain and also my three large ones to each 109 of 111 crates and the small one to hold 5 "golden" crates and 4 standard ones (I collect the specials on ground level floor so every 2 specials I stored 2 normal crates). I was never ever raided/attacked again (for nearly a year now) while doing I/E (being CEO) over 500 cars now. I stopped selling because I don't like the clutter in the office - so for nearly a year I'm sitting on 4 full and a golden small warehouse without one raid.

Lucky me? I guess^^ :colgate:

thanks for your reply, but this is about raids of the ceo crate warehouses (see title of thread) and not about the mc business raids.

i already know about the mc raids.

the mc raids can be avoided by disconnecting right after the call.

i'm just not sure if it also works the same with attacks on the crate warehouses.

the raids/attacks of mc business and crate warehouses seem not to be exactly the same mechanics.

I think I read about a number of crates in each type of warehouse somewhere when you would have to expect raids. Was 88/111 for the large one I believe.

Raids can happen at any time when you are logged in no matter how many crates you have in your warehouses, but it is also my personal experience - I can't be 100% certain though - that the risk increases the more crates you have.

Yep, you can lose a full 111 crate warehouse to NPC's if you're slow to reach your warehouse.

According to Rockstar's Newswire Post, the more crates you get, the higher the chance is to get raided.

"Major players attract attention and warehouses stocked with high volumes of valuable goods won’t stay secret for long. Act quickly to avoid losing a percentage of your Special Cargo in surprise attacks from resident gangs of Los Santos."

During my 900+ crate pick-ups I've had one raid. It was when I was flying from my 2nd warehouse back to office. My 1st warehouse was 70+% full. I flew there with my buzzard, killed them all in 30 seconds and didn't lose any product.

IMO crate warehouse raids are not something you should worry about. Maybe only if you play as CEO with a full warehouse and you focus on something else than crates. For example having a full warehouse and fooling around as a CEO in Paleto bay. It may be better to close the application ASAP in that situation.

I know this is an appreciation thread, but...

Got a call from my assistant last night about special cargo, went straight to the office, signed on, paid my 25k, them I'm off on my way to collect the ornamental egg. The moment I entered the truck... 'disconnected from the GTA servers', FML..

Get back online, do a few more CEO runs, get a call from my assistant.. More special cargo! I head straight to my office again, this time I believe it was the pocket watch iirc. I pay my 30k and head on my way. I reach the truck again, enter it and i'm on my way back.

Here's me thinking that Rockstar have lent a me a helping hand here to make up for me earlier loss, happy days! I'm half way back to my warehouse, and I disconnect again... Screw you special cargo!

I did jump online during my dinner hour today and was awarded 250k however, so can't complain really! Faith, only partially restored. :^:

From my personal experience raids on warehouses seem to be somewhat random, I remember reading that they only happened when a warehouse was stocked up past 80% so I always kept my large warehouse at around 75%.

About a week ago though I got a call saying that my warehouse was being raided I wasn't bothered to make my over to the otherside of the map so I just closed application immediateley which resulted in NO LOSS of crates (to answer the second question)

Having my warehouse raided at around 75% led me to believe that raids are random although higher stocked warehouses which are just 'sitting' there for extended periods of time without use are more likely to be raided. Maybe the capacity percentage of the warehouse is also the percentage of a raid happening on said warehouse.

Not necessarily. The last time I had to defend a warehouse, I literally just finished doing the Titan delivery mission for my 1st warehouse & about to land in Sandy Shores Airfield, a Defend Mission for my 2nd warehouse started. I didn't even get a chance to deposit the $2.2M ... Flew back in a Hydra to defend it.

It was 90% full & I lost 9 crates.

Yea. The only attack I've experienced was just after a delivery to my 2nd warehouse. I meant that you shouldn't worry about these attacks if you are active. I've only had one attack during 900 pick-ups, so it's quite rare.

- are the attacks really totally random?

someone said that these raids seem to happen when the capacity of the warehouse is at about 80%.

can anyone confirm this?

- how to avoid these attacks/raids?

can you avoid any losses if you just switch session real quick?

or maybe by disconnecting immediately?

there's no way to trigger special items lol i heard you can't even get 2 of the same item so i doubt that method of having it 2 different warehouses will work but feel free to prove me wrong lol. i did however kept note of what special crate spawned for each pickup number. i wish i kept track when i first got it so i started taking note around 200.

crate 261: film reel

crate 318: golden minigun

crate 350: large diamond

crate 438: ornamental egg

crate 590: rare hide

(sold these 6 after)

crate 682: film reel

crate 721: rare pocket watch

crate 781: rare hide

oops! My bad I didn't even know crate warehouses got raided. Wait, so you can lose an entire large warehouse to an npc raid? If so that's bananas!

Yep, you can lose a full 111 crate warehouse to NPC's if you're slow to reach your warehouse.

Raids can happen at any time when you are logged in no matter how many crates you have in your warehouses, but it is also my personal experience - I can't be 100% certain though - that the risk increases the more crates you have.

-Rockstar Games Newswire

So it is like I expected, but I've never read that. Thanks :) .

Citation needed.

Nope. Personal experience. I have been raided when I had everything from 6 to 40 crates in my medium warehouses. To add to that I have read many posts in this forum telling the same thing. I stand by what I said.
